Lazy Day Campground, Danville, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night at Lazy Day Campground on our way west and happy we did. The new owners (since 2018) were friendly and have done an amazing job with this CG. All the inner roads and sites are stone and look fresh. The utilities all worked well and in a good locations. Our pull thru even had two sewer connections. They had a great club house for groups, the Laundry and bathrooms were fantastic and a walking path down to a pond in the woods. The new owners take a lot of pride in their campground and it shows. This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at and at a very reasonable nightly rate. We liked it so much as a place to just relax we made a 3 night reservation on our return trip through the area in early July. If you are in the area you need to stay at Lazy Day Campground. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Haven Retreat, Indianapolis, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights for a break after 3 long drive days. We have stayed here before. The staff was friendly. Our site was 52, a stone, level, FHU, 50 amp, pull thru. Most of their pull thru sites are opposing pull thrus with all the utilities in the center between the two sites. The driver's side of the two RV are close, but you do have some grass on your door side. The utilities are in the center of the pull thru and convenient for my setup. Electric was good, sewer great location, water easy to connect to but low pressure at 30 psi. While there are a few big trees between some of the sites, the satellite was not a problem. As said below, there are many seasonal and workers here but everything is kept neat. The campground is well taken care of. It is next to a fire station and as almost every CG we've stayed in there is a train near enough that it can be heard. When ever we are back in the area we will stay here. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

Spring Valley Campground, Cambridge, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight on our way to Indianapolis. Easy access to CG from I70. We were put in site A2 close to the campground's Entrance-exit. The site was a gravel pull thru, 50amp, FHU site. It was in the open so the Satellite work. The PT was very long, but all the utilities were towards the front of the site so I needed most of my power and water lines and didn't bother connecting the sewer. This is a nice park for an over night. My only negative was as others have said the inner roads, once paved, are full of pot holes and some are big and filled with muddy water. The roads are what kept my rating down. We camped at Spring Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Americamps RV Resort, Ashland, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here often when we visit relatives in Richmond. This is a very clean, well kept Campground with a very friendly staff. This trip we were in site VIP2, which is a pull-thru, 50 amp, FHU, gravel site right across from the registration office. All utilities worked well and the site was Satellite friendly, site was fairly level. The only negative is I95 noise since the CG is right along I95, but it was tolerable. We will continue to stay at Americamps when in the area visiting our relatives in Richmond. We camped at Americamps RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA), Wade, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight on our way from FL to Richmond. It was easy access from I95, very clean campground. We were in site #11, a Deluxe long 50 amp pull through near the entrance/exit which was great for overnight guests. All the utilities worked well and we had satellite. The inner roads were in good condition (not dusty - which I like). The sites were stone and level. We would stay here again if traveling through Fayettesville. Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground, Elko, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped at Twin Oaks for a night on our way to the FMCA Rally in Perry. The staff was fantastic, campground well maintained, and noticed many nice 'yard art' touched. As soon as we pulled up to the registration the fellow came out to the coach with a list, asked our name, found us on the list (we had a reservation) and said follow him and he'd escort us to our site. He guide us into the PT side and then told us to get setup first and then we could go to the registration office to register/pay. Inner roads were packed dirt/stone but not dusty. Our site (#52) was stone and was right next to the bath house that looked new from the outside. All the utilities worked well and were conveniently placed so that we fit in the PT without having to unhook our car. They are just off I-75 (exit 127), about 8 miles south of the Perry Fairgrounds exit (134). Wifi was great and Verizon signal was 3 bars and my Satellite worked. This is a great campground to visit Perry, events at the Perry Fairgrounds or just an overnight. We will stop here again when traveling through the area. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Casey Jones RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night because we had a service appointment at a freightliner dealer next door. While the price for an overnight PT is good if all your utilities work. When I took the cap off the sewer the sewer line was filled with water so I could not dump my tanks. I contacted the fellow who took me to the site and he never offered to move me. As others have said there is NO circuit breaker on the 50amp outlet so you have to plug in live - BE VERY CAUTIOUS as this is dangerous for you and your coach. To protect the coach it shut off my coach's 50 amp circuit breaker, went out plugged in and then went back in the coach and turned my 50 amp breaker on. I doubt I'd return to Casey Jones in the future because of the poor condition of the utilities, and dangerous 50 amp setup and the poor customer service even though they are very convenient to the freightliner service dealer next door. We camped at Casey Jones RV Park in a Motorhome.

Magnolia RV Park and Campground, Kinards, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

I have stayed here once before a few years ago and my only complaint then was the inner dusty roads and that hasn't changed. Just driving to my site left the back of my MH (DP) and my tow car covered with dust. At least this stop was on the end of my trip and not the beginning so I knew I'd be home to wash the coach and car. The campground is very convenient to I-26, besides the inner dusty roads the CG is well maintained. The 50 amp worked well (117-122 v), sewer connection was in good location, water pressure was low (especially in the morning) and the WiFi was the best I've seen at a CG.. At check-in they changed my reservation from site 31 to 22, site 22 was very long, level, had a new power pedestal, had new stone and was satellite friendly. The pool was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. If you are traveling in a towable or gas MH and not a DP with a rear facing radiator, the inner road dust will probably not be a problem and this campground would be a convenient overnight when traveling I-26. We camped at Magnolia RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Olive Branch Campground, Oregonia, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Olive Branch many time over the past few years when in the area visiting relatives. The park is well maintained, good utilities and convenient to I-71 and the owners are very friendly. Since our stays have usually been for a week or more we have always used back in sites, but their are a number of pull-thru sites. Power in the back in sites we have used were usually way in the back of the site, but our primary 50 amp cord has always reached. Inner roads are stone, but not dusty. We will stay here again when visiting the area. We camped at Olive Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

Dumplin Valley RV, Kodak, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a single overnight on our way to Cincinnati. It is easy access off exit 407 off I-40. As others have said, this is a farm with 30 and 50 amp FHU sites in the grass fields behind the owners home. We stayed in a 50 amp pull-thru that was grass and level and long. Internal roads were stone and in very good condition, not dusty. All the utilities work well. There is no WiFi or cable TV, but with no trees Satellite worked. The owner was friendly and the campground was very neat and clean. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Dumplin Valley RV in a Motorhome.

Evergreen Lakes Campground, Bath, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Evergreen Lakes for 13 nights to visit family and friends in the area. This is an older campground that is mostly seasonal RV, older TT and fifth wheels. The first site we were put into was to low in the back for a motorhome, so the let us move to D46. The interior roads have a lot of low branches. While the wooded setting is pretty and quiet, it was not a big rig friendly CG and I'm only 35 foot. I saw voltages as high as 132 at night when the demand dropped due to cool nights (45-49) and few RV's had Heat Pumps. You are required to run your hot water on propane because of the 30 amp service. After my lengthy stay I came to find out that they have at least eight 30 amp/water/sewer setups right at the entrance in a stone area. I asked if they'd let me stay there if I come back and they said yes if it is after April and before mid-October. Unfortunately this is really the only CG close to the Bethlehem/Easton, PA area. On future trips I will return if I can stay in the open area at the entrance rather than have to be in the sites in the woods. My Rate reflects a weekly rate. I paid for 2 weeks for a 13 day stay as it was cheaper than there nightly rate. Cash or Check only, no CC. Staff: Friendly and Helpful Inner Roads: Paved/stone Site No.: D46, Wooded so No Satellite Site: Backin, Power and sewer were convenient, but water, cable were between our site and the one behind us, Site Level: level Power: 30a, 118-132v Water: 40 psi and lower depending on demand Sewer: No issues WiFi: No WiFi, but had 3 to 4 bars with AT&T Cell. Statesville / I-77 KOA, Statesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Statesville I-77 KOA over night as we traveled home to FL. It is easy on and off of I-77. Our site was a Pull-Thru, level and long enough that we did not have to disconnect our TOAD. Utilities were conveniently located. This KOA does not allow 'ground' fires, I know some would not like this, but for us, we prefer not to have to smell all the smoke in the air and getting in our RV. Our site was Satellite friendly. While there is some I-77 road noise, it wasn't an issue for us as the RV AC masked a lot of it. While I feel the nightly rate is a bit high for the area at $49.00 (this is the KOA discounted rate), due to its convenience to I-77, friendly staff, clean inner roads, level site and utilities that worked (including WiFi) I will stay here again if in the area. Staff: Friendly and Helpful Inner Roads: Paved Site No.: A15, Satellite (Direct) worked Site: PT, stone, utilities conveniently located Site Level: level Power: 50a, 118-122v Water: 45 psi Sewer: No issues WiFi: Free, 5 bars, worked well - decent bandwidth. Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Harrisonburg/Shenandoah Valley KOA over night as we traveled home. The CG is about 4 miles from I-81, while the road was newly paved and smooth, it is narrow and windy. The CG is quiet. The staff was great and the guided us to our site. The Pull-Thru was long enough for my 35' MH and Toad so I did not have to unhook. The site was low to the DS and rear, while I could auto-level, it did pull the DS outside rear wheel an inch off the ground. This KOA offers personal pan pizzas that are delivered to your RV. My wife ordered one and said it was very good. While the WiFi is free (as most campgrounds offer), free is not a perk if the bandwidth is so throttled that it is a struggle to just pull emails. The nightly rate of $48.84 (reflects my KOA discount but not taxes) seems a bit high for this area especially when the 'Free' WiFi basically was none functional. As I write this I am overnighting in a KOA near Charlotte and the WiFi is functional. Staff: Friendly and Helpful Inner Roads: Stone, not dusty Site No.: 60 Site: PT, stone, utilities conveniently located Site Level: Low in back and on driver's side. Power: 50a, 119-120v Water: 40 psi Sewer: No issues WiFi: Free, 5 bars, but NO Bandwidth. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Western Village RV Park, Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight as we traveled to eastern PA. The campground is convenient from I81. Entrance is thru a residential neighborhood. The inner roads and sites are fine stone which had basically turned to dust and while there is a 7 1/2 mph speed limit posted within the campground, a number of the seasonal residences ignore the speed rule and kick up lots of dust. The 'overnight' pull-thru sites are actually 14 two back to back sites used as 7 pull-thru sites. We were in site(s) 52 and 32. The utilities were convenient, 50a (119/120 vac), water (50 psi) and multiple sewer connections to choose from. Our site was level side to side but high in the front. The overnight pull-thru sites are not SAT friendly but I was able to pull ABC, CBS, NBC and more OTA channels. WiFi worked well. AT&T Cell phone was 3/4 bars. The Staff was friendly, you are not escorted to your site. This is a large campground, over 200 sites, most are seasonal residence. My ratings for this campground would have been higher if it wasn't for the dusty inner roads. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Americamps RV Resort, Ashland, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Americamp a number of times over the years when visiting family in the Richmond area. This RV Resort is always clean, always making improvements, the Staff is always friendly and it's location is convenient to Richmond. They have paved more of the internal roads since our stay last year. We requested a SAT friendly site and they assigned us to E8, a long pull-thru, stone, pretty level and the utilities were all conveniently located. Power (50a) was good 119/120 vac and two sewer connections locations. Water pressure was a little low (40 psi) but functional. Wifi was good, they offer cable put we never connected it. We just used our SAT and OTA Channels. We will always stay here when visiting family in the area. We camped at Americamps RV Resort in a Motorhome.
