Tule COE, Porterville, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are spacious but could use a little tractor work. Not too level. Bring lots of fresh water hose as our spigot was 43' away from the rig. No sewer but it is on a lake. Lake was adequate but pretty dirty. Lots of nats and mosquitos so plan accordingly. Our site appeared not to have been cleaned in quite some time despite what appeared to be several 'hosts' on site. Picnic table was filthy as was the fire pit. Left over logs laying everywhere. Did not use the restroom facilities but they appeared fairly new. We camped at Tule COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake activities. Large launch ramp. Fishing, boating, kayaking swimming etc. Water is snow runoff so it's cold. AT&T is pretty good but Verizon is non existent. Two pay phones at the front of the park.

Desert Springs RV Park, Daggett, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park located between I-15 and I-40. Lake is for fishing, no swimming. Has a pool but no spa. Access roads are wide and sites are spacious. Some sites need to be leveled a bit but back in sites 65 and 66 are nice. Very quiet. Bar/cafe at the front of the campground but we heard no noise from it. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Good for an overnight, or a couple of nights to unwind. Not much else in the area. Barstow is close enough if you need supplies. Verizon and AT&T both were excellent.

Arizona Charlie's Las Vegas RV Park, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

First the good. Wide roads, concrete pads, close to shopping and the city. Verizon and AT&T both good. Not gated but security on foot and on bicycles. Now the bad. Utilities right under neighbors front door. Power was weak. 109VDC-113VDC Both legs. The park has rules, many rules, but very few are enforced. Street parking is horrendous. Barely enough room for a large rig to maneuver. Many sites with trash and debris around their 'home'. Appears to be long term tenants. Sites are very close together and tenants have a tendency to encroach on neighboring sites. No picnic tables. When we left we had two choices...back out or drive over their lawn area and sprinklers due to the many vehicles blocking the streets. We will not return. ENFORCE YOUR OWN RULES OR DELETE THEM. If you're a rule follower, this park is not for you. If you feel rules are for others and not you, then this park will fit your needs. Go just down Boulder Highway about 1 mile. Stay at that park. Only $24/night with better enforcement of the rules. We camped at Arizona Charlie's Las Vegas RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bulow RV Resort, Flagler Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Campground rates a 10 but amenities rate it lower overall. First the positives. Very large spacious sites with shade trees. Still satellite friendly. Phone service was good, ATT and Verizon. Wifi was excellent. Kid friendly and lots of hiking places. Room for the dogs to run too. Now the negatives: Entrance is terrible for a large rig. DO NOT USE THE RIGHT TURN ONLY LANE. Turn from the middle lane or you'll hit the monument sign. Front bathhouse was immaculate, the other two need upgrading. They have a pool but NO SPA. This park is adjacent to a mobile home park, they can use this park but you cannot access theirs. They bring their dogs over to this park on their golf carts to use it as a off leash dog run. Lots of vehicle traffic as the back side of the park has permanent spaces. Despite these negatives, we enjoyed our stay and would return. Nightly rate reflects RPI. We camped at Bulow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bella Terra RV Resort, Foley, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Class A's ONLY. No C, Super C, 5th Wheels or trailers! No SHADE, and EZ ups are NOT ALLOWED. If you want shade you'll have to rent a gazebo site for an extra charge. Extra charge for lake view sites, extra charge for gazebo site, extra charge if there's outside seating available. Grounds are kept clean and tidy. Lake is really just a pond. Office help could be a little more friendly. Absolutely NOT KID FRIENDLY! Other than TV, there's nothing for the kids to do. Almost all clubhouse activities involved drinking. Although they call it a 'resort', we've been to nicer parks with better ambiance and more amenities for less money. We will stay at the 'other resort' nearby next time. We camped at Bella Terra RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Harrah's Tunica Mid-South RV Park, Robinsonville, Mississippi

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Park CLOSED in June 2014. It is now overgrown and sits forlornly waiting for someone to resurrect it from the dead. Sad as we rated it a 10 last year. We camped at Harrah's Tunica Mid-South RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tropic Winds RV Resort (55+ Park), Harlingen, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty typical Encore park. Sites are small for a large motorhome. Ours is 45' and our mirrors were in the street. No place to park a towed. No hot water in the showers, lukewarm at best. Jacuzzi is way too small for 535 sites, but it was warm. Pool is heated. Extra charge for 50amp service. Extra charge for internet. Lots of speeding by golf carts, driving side by side, cutting corners etc. Be careful if you have an end unit. Lots of noise from the International airport a mere 2 miles away. With all the camping available in this area, there are many parks that offer more. We wouldn't return. We camped at Tropic Winds RV Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Shawano County Lake Park Campground, Shawano, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park on the shores of Shawano Lake. Lots for everyone to do. Paddle boats, canoes, swim beach (no lifeguard), boat ramp, two bathhouses with showers, (50 cents) very clean. They pick up your trash in front of your site several times a day. Large play area for the younger kids and basketball, tennis court and kickball for the older ones. On site security. Would have given it a 10 except the utilities are strangely located away from the sites. We are in a back in, 50amp site and had to use a 25' extension cord as well as a 25' extension on our water hose. Many sites are big rig friendly, we are 45'. Verizon was OK, AT&T off and on. Only one handicapped site which was occupied by non handicapped campers. (Error by office staff, promised to be corrected.) We camped at Shawano County Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Chicago Northwest KOA, Union, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with friendly hosts. Narrow entry road, but short. Next to an amusement park, but it presented no noise issues. About 45 mins to Chicago. Verizon was strong, AT&T sometimes. Restrooms were clean, but difficult to shower due to the large number of mosquitoes. Rating dropped due to the levelness of the sites. Our front step was 22" off the ground. They could level the sites front to rear and crown them like the roadways for drainage. Still, we would stay here again if visiting Chicago. Access was adequate. We camped at Chicago Northwest KOA in a Motorhome.

Village Inn on the Lake, Two Rivers, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The good: lots of activities for the kids, pool, hot tub, (both inside) mini golf, video machines, basketball, pool table. Right across from Lake Michigan. Front sites face the water, but across a four lane highway. Fairly easy access to the lake, but during busy times of the day, traffic is a concern. Free Wi-Fi and very strong. Verizon and ATT were good with 4g. The bad: sites are very close together. They've planted trees between the sites which will make them even smaller. We have a 45' quad slide coach and could not open the awnings on either side of the coach. Picnic tables intrude on neighboring site. Very friendly staff, we would stay here again. Rate reflects Passport America. We camped at Village Inn on the Lake in a Motorhome.

Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park, Kinder, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Great park with many sites. Lots of room between sites. Big Rig friendly. Speed through the park is a problem as there is no enforcement. Be cautious if you have small children. We encountered fire ants and stickers that bothered the dog. All in all though, it's a wonderful park. The park pool closes at dusk but the hotel pool/spa is open until 10pm and is heated. Verizon was strong 5bars/3g with ATT also at 4 bars/4g. We will stay here again. Rate reflects cost after discounts from the casino. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Colorado River RV Campground, Columbus, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, well maintained, big rig friendly. Gracious host with lots of information. Excellent BBQ on Friday nights at Peter's in Ellinger. Heated pool and indoor spa. Would be a 10 but only outdoor showers at the pool/spa and water never heated up. Lots of room between sites. Would return again. We had a 50amp FHU site on the river. Verizon and AT&T 4bars/3/4g Rate reflects member rate. We camped at Colorado River RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Medina Lake RV Campground - Thousand Trails , Lakehills, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in 2011 and enjoyed it very much so we returned this year. What a disappointment. ELS needs to spend some $$ in this park. Lots of maintenance needs to be done. In fairness, the lake is now dry, so campers are less. Less campers means less hours allocated to the park, but let's be fair. How much does it take to run a riding mower through the park and cut down the weeds? We were there four days and never once saw a ranger other than at the entrance station. Lots of empty spots so reservations shouldn't be necessary. Lots of maintenance needed in the pool area. The bottom lodge was not open during our stay. Sad.. Verizon 4bars/3g AT&T sporatic but 4 bars 3g. We camped at Medina Lake RV Campground - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort / Thousand Trails, Willis, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

What's not to like about this park? Right on the lake, boat docks, big rig sites with ample room, friendly staff, pool and spa. Only thing we found wrong with this park was one restroom building only had cold showers and the other one was closed. We would return. Verizon 3 bars 3g ATT 4bars 4g Rate reflects members rate. We camped at Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort / Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.
