7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The park is about 10 miles by road but only 3 miles line of sight from The Little Bighorn, NM. The sites are very nice with full hookup and gravel roads and sites are gravel as well. The staff which is the owners, are very friendly and you are escorted to you location. It is pet friendly but they do not offer a dog run. While walking the dog we encountered a rather large snake which I was told is non venumous and actually keeps the rattle snakes away from the campground. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This was a one night stay so we did not do any shopping. Full service gas/diesel along with a small store were available at the I-90 exit. At checkin everyone got a choice of ice cream bar or on a stick for each one in the party.

Badlands / White River KOA, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

The park is about 3 miles from the Badlands NP Southern entrance. It is very clean and they have an excellent dog run area. It is the largest of any we stayed at. They also offer a station for washing your dog just to the outside of the run area. They have a very nice pool (which we did not use). It is very quiet at night.

Their WiFi was very sporadic. Their antenna was just inside the office and pointed out toward the north. I was in eyesite of the office and still had problems with the reception.

All in all it was a very nice campgrpund. We camped at Badlands / White River KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a small store in town but it is very limited. If you go to the town of Wall there is a mid size grocery store there on a side street. They had fresh produce and meat. This store is about 30 miles from the campground.

Take advantage of the new Minuteman missle NM which is located just off of I-90 at exit 116 for the silo and exit 131 for the main building. There is a limited number of tickets handed out at 8:00 am each day to be able to take the elevator down to the launch room.

Casino Queen RV Park, East Saint Louis, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is a converted black topped parking lot that has been converted to a park. There are no trees. All the utilities are located at the far end of the site. Do to location of the sewer connection, it exceeded the 25' of sewer hose I had available. There is loose stone separating each site. There are train tracks immediately adjacent to the lot and the train traffic is substantial with the occasional train stopped and the engines left running for an extended length of time. The office closes at 4:30 PM daily. There is shuttle service to the casino or to the rapid transit station, but getting back to your site from the train requires walking at least 1/2 mile to the desk at the hotel where they can call the shuttle.

Getting to the park from the interstate is quite a challenge. More signage would be very helpful. Use only as a last resort. We camped at Casino Queen RV Park in a Motorhome.
