Garden of the Gods Campground, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The price reflects a weekly rate. The sites were very tight but spacious enough. They don't allow dog fences and that was a disappointment but they do have a very nice off-leash dog park. The park is putting in some new sites that appear to be larger so we will stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Garden of the Gods Campground in a Motorhome.

Circle B RV Park, Ruidoso, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, large site with grass and room for the dog fence. Close to town. We were there off season but the rec center was open and stocked with books and movies. The store was great! Like a mini Camping World with almost everything you ever need for your RV. We'd stay here again if in the area. We camped at Circle B RV Park in a Motorhome.

Deer Springs RV Park, Mayhill, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

When we arrived there was only one other camper in the park. They had just opened for the season. It was nice and quiet and there is a river running through the park. There is really nothing nearby but it is a wonderful place to unwind and relax. The staff were very friendly, the wifi was snappy and sites were HUGE! We would stay here again. We camped at Deer Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bayfield Riverside RV Park, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a pull-in site with a view of the pond. We saw a beaver, a hawk fly down and catch a fish and fly off with it, deer, it was a beautiful show! The staff were very helpful and courteous, our site was HUGE (again with that beautiful view!) and the grounds were very well kept. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The facility was very well kept, activities were well organized and there was a lot of variety - water aerobics, line dancing, walk exercise, zumba, "tag alongs" (i.e. fieldtrips) to nearby attractions. Ask at the desk to buy a Passport book. It costs $18.00 but gets you into area attractions for a discount or a 2fer price. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The observatory was a great perk! (nightly rate reflects monthly rate of $460 + elec) We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Safeway with a Starbucks is within walking distance; Walmart is a short drive. Lots of good restaurants in the area. Tombstone is close by and a lot of fun!

Flagstaff KOA, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The park roads are very tight. The office staff is rude. There is no dog park. The sites are tight even in the pull-through area. Our site was mostly taken up by a "natural" pile of rocks limiting our outdoor area considerably. It is obviously an old park that is trying to accommodate the bigger rigs that are out today. That said, the views of the mountains are beautiful and it is convenient to town. We paid for a week but won't stay here again. It is very pricey at $350 for a week and not worth that price. We camped at Flagstaff KOA in a Motorhome.

Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park), Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We loved our stay here! The dog park is HUGE and they provide toys! We met some of the residents and had a wonderful night out - everyone is so welcoming. The owners are very nice. The sites are large. We have a 43' motorhome and we had room to spare. The 55+ aspect is also nice adding the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. We highly recommend this park and will stay here again! We camped at Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The park is very well maintained, the people who work here are like family, it has free cable (lots of channels) and free wifi (good reception). The fitness center, indoor pool and indoor hot tub were very awesome! They also offer yoga, water aerobics, Tai Chi, basic RV maintenance, Wii bowling, etc.! We loved our stay here and will find our way back during our travels. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Elephant Butte has a great hike/bike trail and the lake offers all kinds of water sports and fishing. Unfortunately, we were here during the winter so we didn't participate in the water sports but we hear during the summer it is a blast!

T or C (Truth or Consequences) is about 4 miles away and has a Walmart and lots of "regional charm", shopping, artsy shops, natural restaurants, medical/dental offices, etc.
