Forks 101 RV Park, Forks, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a grass field with FHU's. Primitive showers/bath, no activities on site. Overpriced for value received. We used it as a base as we visited various areas of Olympic N.P., still a lot of driving. Not very pleasing to look at, but it was fairly quiet and staff very friendly. There is a laundry on site , $2 per load. We camped at Forks 101 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Port Townsend, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here on Labor Day weekend. The "campground" is an open field with shared utilitiy posts. Grassy/dirt sites extremely unlevel. It was my fault as we read the information at the self-check-in board we found sites 2-18 listed as having water, electric, and sewer. We chose #14 and went ahead to set up. It took a few tries to get level, but once level we sped through the set up, pop-out, etc. procedure, only to find out when I attempted to plug in to the electric, the only electric was a 110 outlet, which they failed to fully describe at the check-in info. Instead of loading up and relocating to one of the cheaper W/S sites, we ate the $5 per night difference and stayed at #14 (it's great to have 8 145W solar panels for boondocking when you need it). The sites are stacked like cord wood, with skinny lanes between rows to make maneuvering a 40' bus a bit of an exercise. There are only a few picnic tables scattered among the sites, ours had none. No amenities (fire pit, patio, playground, etc.), just a field with some hook-ups but still a good base camp for the area if you do not plan to spend other than sleep time at the campground. There is a bit of a primitive shower/bath house, but it was clean. The price is the only incentive for us to stay here again. It appears there are several rigs here that are long term residents. The fairgrounds is at the outskirts of town in a bit of a run down section of town. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Fidalgo Bay Resort, Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are stacked like cord wood. Level, gravel sites with FHU's, no fire pit, our site had no patio, however the sewer hook ups are horrible! Open pipe sunk into the ground about a foot deep, with just a metal cover. Some views of the straits, a bike/walk trail runs through the park. No activities for families (pool, games, playgrounds, etc.) Some sites have a small covered patio area. All the grass areas are dead or dying (water issues for the area). Interior roads are a bit daunting with all the toads & towers interspersed around the rigs. Miserable road and roads system for ingress & egress to the park. Overpriced for what it offers. Nearby train noise & highway noise is moderate. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Trails RV Park, Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

OK campground for family campouts, soso for full-time RVers. We were in the trees, so satellite was a no-go, and no cable so unplugged we were. It's a nice campground but spread out and only one bath/shower facility, as well as only one garbage location. Staff was friendly. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chelan County Expo Center, Cashmere, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is one big open dirt/grass lot with FHU's. Sites tightly spaced. They keep the bathroom/showers clean. There are no amenities here, nor activities in the "park". The price is good, comparative to an average RV park. We camped at Chelan County Expo Center in a Motorhome.

Wenatchee River County Park, Monitor, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Asphalt sites with ample spacing and well kept lawn in between. Nice playgrounds for kids, propane available, and clean bathrooms. It is noisy, between the train and highway traffic. Located on the Wenatchee River. Interior roads are easy to navigate in large rigs, sites are back-in. We camped at Wenatchee River County Park in a Motorhome.

Butte KOA, Butte, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

We would only camp here again if we had to stop in Butte, but only for the accumulated points in the KOA system. We stayed here a few years ago, not a lot of difference this time. They have some new bathroom/showers that are outstandingly clean. The interior roads are tight, I suggest you disconnect the toad at check-in even though they will tell you you can stay connected. Gravel roads/sites, the landscaping here is in terrible condition; the grass is mostly dead (worker said their irrigation system is non-operable) and the trees and shrubs are in dire need of trimming. FHU's are mid-site, there is some daylight through the trees for satellite and/or solar systems. Staff is very helpful and the grounds are kept clean. Typical family KOA, pool, playground, limited store at the office. As with many KOA's, it is overpriced. We camped at Butte KOA in a Motorhome.

Absaroka Bay RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The other reviews are accurate; tightly spaced sites and the interior roads are barely navigable with a 40' MH + toad. FHUs, level, gravel sites, restroom/showers are "rustic" but clean, and easy access off the highway. Noise is bearable, between traffic and neighbors talking, and be prepared for the sprinklers to come on every night. This is not a "camping" destination, no activities within the park, but is geared toward being a base camp for local exploration such as Yellowstone N.P., Beartooth Hwy., Buffalo Bill Center of the West, & Buffalo Bill Dam/Reservoir, to name a few. In getting here, it seems the whole GPS system, whether using your phone, your stand-alone, or whatever, goes wacky and unusable at times. Wifi in this part of the country is also slow and spotty, both AT&T and Verizon. We camped at Absaroka Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects a weekly rate. This place is OK, not spectacular. Interior gravel roads and sites, FHU's but many of the water hookups have seen better days, look to have had run-ins with RVs. Our handle/valve leaked. Bathroom was clean, but a little beat up-exposed plywood on the ceiling above shower area, floor grates bent/damaged, minor graffiti carved into toilet stall walls. The "mini golf" offered here is pretty sad. We had an open site, good for satellite and solar, and level. Staff was friendly. A little too pricy for what it is. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Motorhome.

West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice resort park, as reflected in most of the previous ratings. Maintained to perfection, the landscaping is beautiful. We had pull throughs with FHU's, level gravel sites, the only "bad" was our site #131 the water pressure was very low which played havoc with us trying to get our water heater to kick in and deliver hot water. We ended up using on-board water and pump for our showers. Nice office/store, cafe on site, both pools well maintained, large playground for the kids (even room for soccer), large laundry house, and an ice-cream shack. Great destination park for family vacations. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Flag City RV Resort, Lodi, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice RV park but WAY overpriced for daily/weekly rates. Their $900+ as a 28 day rate is more reasonable. Concrete sites with FHUs, not too close together, clean facilities, pool, spa, dog run, laundry, office/campstore. Passport America nightly rate is $32.50. Easy access to I-5, groceries just a few miles away. Good for a night's stopover, not much as a destination park. We camped at Flag City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site, Mt Vernon, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained park, lots of lawn & trees. Paved roads & sites, W/E & water at sites with dump station at front of park. Site #27 had clear sky for satellite reception. Camp host on site. Water pressure in the showers is a little low, & hot water is better described as warm water. Sites have good spacing and hedges for privacy. We camped at Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site in a Motorhome.

Hi Valley RV Park, Boise, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is the daily cost of the weekly rate. Interior roads are paved, sites gravel with concrete patio & full hook ups. Sites are close together, water pressure is a bit low. Very nice, accommodating staff. Clean facilities including clubhouse, pool, spa, dog park & dog run, playground for kids. They do have a monthly rate, but hard to get (limited availability). Of 194 sites, I would estimate about 2/3 are permanent residents, to the detriment of the traveling RV public. Good location, central to the Boise area. We camped at Hi Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Caldwell Campground and RV Park, Caldwell, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

I would rate this average if each site had water, instead of the 4 for 8, and if there were a dump on site. Spacious for maneuvering, but the sites are squeezed tight for the amount of open space there. 30A, no sewer or dump on site, open for solar & satellite.
