South Rim (NPS Campground), Black Canyon Gunnison Nat'l Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

If you are a small camper, it is lovely to wake up in this beautiful place. Sites are far enough apart to feel private, but close enough to vault toilets. Roads are good, sites are gravel and fairly level. The overlooks are great, short hiking trails on most of them. Good place for a couple of days of camping. Not big rig friendly. No water in the park, so no hookups except for 50 amp electric. So you can run your coach. But the trees haven't been cut back far enough, scratched our coach, turns are too tight for our43' bus. I think the NPS website warned us, this was just our mistake. When we talked to Recreation.gov on the phone, they never mentioned that we were too big, and we didn't look past that. We camped at South Rim (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the East Portal road (in your car, not your rv) down to the dam at the bottom of the canyon, it's twisty, but worth it, gorgeous views from the bottom looking up those steep walls. The water is beautiful, there are restrooms and picnic area.

OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

The location is best because it's far enough out to be quiet, but it just off the main artery-very convenient. Family owned, charming, office area has flowers everywhere, shaded benches, community grills, great area to socialize. The rv spaces are shaded (shady but tree was trimmed properly to not be in the way of my coach), wide, the park is clean and well maintained. Rest rooms, showers and laundry room areas are pristine. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. We will stay here again. We stayed in a Class A RV for two weeks. We camped at OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We were here in June, scorching hot. Leave for day hikes, etc by 6 am, get back by 10 or 11. Beat the heat. Then go into town if you like. Or nap. Park is close to an excellent restaurant called Susie's Branding Iron, great food right down the road.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Easy in and out, located right across road from Grand Ol Opry, Opryland, very convenient. They have a shuttle into town. Clean, quiet, very nice people at the desk. Park is not pretty, it's utilitarian, but it has an adequate laundry, very clean, and it's rates are half the price of the competition. Winner! We would stay here again. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Motorhome.

Holiday RV Park, Phoenix, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Tight spaces, but nice park, Bear Creek runs alongside, it is picturesque. Grass, trees, but you can get a space where your satellite dish won't be blocked. Hard to find because of road construction, but worth the trouble. Nice pool, park is clean, well maintained. Paved spaces, level, good sewer hookups, great water pressure, 50 amps. Very nice, friendly owners. We have stayed here twice, will stay again, about 10 days each time. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Motorhome.

Midway RV Park, Vacaville, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It's quiet, our site was level, there are dog walks with grass and trees, and the place was beautiful. Trees with sunlight filtering through, but no trees blocking sites. Reading the other reviews, I would have to say, yes, there are some long term residents. That's not a problem for me. Everyone I met was friendly. I felt comfortable, safe, the location was soothing and breezy, and the manager was very nice. We maneuvered a 43' RV with tow vehicle around the park with no problem. We will stay here again. We camped at Midway RV Park in a Motorhome.

J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

No kids, so it's quiet. It's landscaped and tidy and clean, and very pretty. We liked the other residents. Some are long term and some are repeat visitors. The owners are so nice and helpful that they get a lot of repeat business. Watch for the sign, it's easy to miss on the highway. They have the best dog run I've ever seen, 300' long by 30' wide, with a variety of plants, trees and topography that makes it interesting and fun for the dogs. Lots of pull throughs. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Motorhome.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Funky vintage place with history and the pix to prove it. Several antique RVs for rent on site that have been restored and are charming. There is an old Hudson Continental with a teardrop camper painted to match. Sites were level, gravel and sand, dry, all good. Interesting office with multiple rooms and art and souvenirs as well as supplies. We would stay here again. They could use a decent dog run. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Motorhome.
