Grand Falls Casino, Larchwood, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

When I made the reservations the morning of our arrival, the gal on the phone was very helpful explaining where to turn to get to the RV parking area. You have to turn at 100th street. Check in is at the hotel desk inside the main entrance. It is quite a long walk to the the main entrance, so we unhooked our car and drove there. The cost varies depending on the day of your stay. $35 for Friday and Saturday nights and only $25 Sunday thru Thursday. We liked the openness of the area. Our front window looked out at the golf course. Only three of the spots were occupied with other RV's. There is nice grass between the sites. The park is about 15 miles from the town of Sioux Falls. The quiet and peacefulness were worth the drive though. Other RV parks in town were either quite a bit more expensive and very close to the highways. We camped at Grand Falls Casino in a Motorhome.

River Terrace Park, Monticello, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is our third full summer at this park and we plan to come back every summer from now on. We like that there are tar roads throughout the park and the electricity cost is included in your rent. If you want wood for a campfire, the owner delivers a bundle to your site for $5.00. It's nice to be able to just set your daily garbage out by the street and the caretaker comes by a couple times a day and picks it up for you. He also keeps the park looking nice with plants and flowers. There is a cute little dog park to let your dog off leash occasionally. It's pretty quiet during the week, but it's fun to see all the campers come in on Fridays for the weekend. All the campsites are together on the river side of the park, so if you don't like camping in a mobile-home park, it won't be an issue. The owner, caretaker, and lots of the people who camp here are very friendly and respectful. There is a dump station too. We camped at River Terrace Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Monticello has everything you might need. Even a nice movie theatre if you get a rainy day. Cub Foods is real close and there is an Aldi too. Target and Walmart also have groceries and the Home Depot or Ace Hardware has anything else you could need.

Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins, Henderson, Nebraska

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here on our way home to MN from AZ planning to just stay overnight. Because a large group of campers had just pulled out, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. So, we decided to stay two more nights to take a break from driving. One of the owners, was so fun to chat with and even brought us baked treats. Her and her hubby have only owned the park for a couple of seasons and it was apparent they were excited about improving the park and making the campers happy! A few more campers did come in while we were there, but she made it a point to space us out so we would have more privacy. We plan to stop here again this fall on our way back to AZ. We camped at Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Be sure to pick up any supplies you need before you arrive. The town of York is ten miles away if you want to eat out or do any shopping.

James M. Robb - Colorado River State Park / Island Acres Section, Palisade, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This park is so beautiful and peaceful. It is located right on the Colorado River between two huge rock bluffs. We were surprised to find a State Park with full hook-ups plus a laundry also. The sites were quite far apart and nicely landscaped. They even have grassy areas and a riverside walking/biking trail. The location is great for visiting the Grand Mesa area and also close to Grand Junction and the Colorado Monument. We camped at James M. Robb - Colorado River State Park / Island Acres Section in a Motorhome.

Bauer's Canyon Ranch RV Park, Glendale, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed staying at this park very much. It was quiet and relaxing and the owners and park hosts were extremely friendly. If you want to visit Bryce and Zion National Parks, it is a good location. I was amazed to see grass between the sites and around the park. Most parks we have stayed at in the western states are all gravel. If we are ever in the area again, we will surely stop by. We camped at Bauer's Canyon Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.
