Mecosta Pines Campground, Morley, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed over the Labor day holiday weekend and really enjoyed our visit. Our campsite was big enough and right nearby the main building so we were near the daily entertainment. The pool was really nice, as were the bathroom and showers. The kids are already asking when we can go back. We camped at Mecosta Pines Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Kiser Lake State Park, Saint Paris, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Super nice campground, so quiet. Only has ten electric sites. In off season not many of the non electric were full. I really liked that the campground was on the water and that the lake was a no motor boat lake. Helped contribute to the quiet. All bathrooms were pit toilets, no shower facilities. Very nice for a few days visit. We camped at Kiser Lake State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two nights here, one of them being July 4th. They had a really cool fireworks celebration here on the 4th, I think for the whole area because there were a ton of people around outside the park. This KOA we were not escorted to our site, but we had a great view of the tower once we found it. The sites are a bit hard to figure out the numbers on for some of them. The pool was well used by us and they showed Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind the first night we were there outside. Very busy park. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Custer State Park - Stockade Lake North Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Super quiet campground with lots of space between sites. The camper host was wonderful too, coming around nightly to tell us about activities in the amphitheater there. We found it very easy to travel all around the Black Hills from here. It's important to know your site number when you arrive, we did not and had to call the SD state parks number to get it from them (phone and number at restroom) because you don't check in with someone you just go to the site. We camped at Custer State Park - Stockade Lake North Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Badlands / White River KOA, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Super nice KOA, lots of activities for the kids to do. They did the banana bikes one day, swam in the pool, played at the playground. Our site was very spacious, well shaded. Lovely view of some of the smaller rock formations that are outside the NP. Took five minutes to get to the entrance to the Badlands NP daily. It was a very nice place to make as our home for our visit there. We camped at Badlands / White River KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Newton / Des Moines East KOA, Newton, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights here and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were directed to campsite by a very nice gentleman. The grounds are right next to the interstate so there was loud road noise at night when trying to get to sleep. The sites are close together. Kids enjoyed the pool and game room lots. We camped at Newton / Des Moines East KOA in a Motorhome.

Blackwoods Campground (NPS Campground), Acadia National Park, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

First there are no showers available in the campground, that's why I answered don't know to the question above. There are private showers available across the street for $2.00 for four minutes. That was not a problem at all, we just planned out our showers in advance. The campground is the nicest campground I've ever stayed in. The sites were spaced out so far apart that we never saw our neighbors. At night it was super quiet. I cannot wait to go back to Acadia and stay here again. The only thing I was surprised to see was that there were no playgrounds for kids, but I was told that is a National Park thing, and that didn't detract from our vacation at all. We camped at Blackwoods Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent Trailer.

Megunticook Campground, Rockport, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We had a good visit to this campground. The woman working in the building walked us to our site and was very helpful. It had a small pool that we didn't get to use and a nice sized playground that the kids liked a bunch. The sites were all wooded and we had adequate separation from our neighbors. We camped at Megunticook Campground in a Tent Trailer.
