Mackinaw City Campground, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

As others have mentioned, it's a basic park for people who are here to visit Mackinaw City or Mackinaw Island, so you don't want to pay for a lot of amenities you won't use. We've stayed here several times & like it, but there are 2 negatives. The water pressure is very low at 29psi as measured at the park faucet, & the 30 amp electric voltage is a little weak. It measures ok at 124v with nothing running, but drops as low as 114v with the microwave & elec water heater running. That's an excessive drop. A healthy electrical system would only drop 4-5 volts. But it's the best deal around for those visiting the area. We camped at Mackinaw City Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunny Woods Resort, Beulah, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Older campground, sites not real level, poor water pressure & low voltage electricity. When I plugged into the 30 amp box the voltage showed 120V, but when I turned on our microwave, the voltage dropped to 113V. And there were only 3 RVs in the whole campground. It's OK for just an overnight stay, with Passport America discount, but not worth the full price of $38. We camped at Sunny Woods Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Amishville USA Campground, Geneva, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Read all of the past reviews. If I had, I would not have stopped here on our way north to Michigan. All of the past negative comments are still true today. Dirty restrooms with 2 dead baby birds in one of the shower stalls, filthy laundry room that looks like it's never been cleaned. The overnight section has extremely narrow gravel lots & if you back off either side of the gravel, your tires sink in muck. They've had a lot of rain recently, but the area has poor drainage. We tried calling before arriving with no answer & office was closed when we arrived at 11:30am. Still closed later in the day. This park is not for overnighters. It's for the mostly permanent/ seasonal people. We were the only ones in the over night section which might explain the good electric voltage & water pressure. We camped at Amishville USA Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park, Heiskell, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Good water pressure & voltage. Challenging hiking trails behind park, nice staff, great Sunday ice cream social. The gravel park roads create a little dust, but no bad. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Eagle's Nest Campground, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Considering how popular the Smoky Mountains NP/Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area is, this campground is a good value with the Passport America rate & is close to everything. Staff is very friendly. Quite a few sites require significant leveling, but not drastic, and the water pressure is very low. It takes 1.3 minutes to fill a gallon jug. The pressure is usable, just a little annoying. Also, if your rv has 50 amp service, the park will not allow you to drop down to 30 amp with a dog bone adapter, thus limiting the number of sites available to you, since many sites in the park are 30 amp only. A few of the seasonal or permanent sites are a little trashy. We camped at Eagle's Nest Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Heart of Glacier RV Park, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very spartan full hookup park. Sites are so narrow my slideout on one side was over the next site's electric box. Very bare bones park, definitely not worth $40. Also, do not stay here on a weekend night if you want to get any sleep. There is a bar about a block away that has a live rock band that is incredibly loud thru the whole town & goes till well after midnight. If you don't have a sound machine in your rv you will have difficulty getting to sleep. I called the park office & they said there is nothing they could do about it. We camped at Heart of Glacier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Midtown RV Camper Park, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

AVOID THIS PARK! We stopped to check this park out & immediately moved on. It was a trash dump that the city should condemn. Run down, dilapidated old RVs, some covered with tarps from leaking, old cars and trucks in disrepair, one truck on blocks, trash all around. It had the look of a very trashy unsafe park. I wouldn't have stayed there if it was free. We camped at Midtown RV Camper Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Centennial Park Campground, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 3 days while seeing Anchorage. I have mixed feelings about this park. Nice woodsy campground with level gravel spacious lots. The staff are nice & friendly. BUT! There are several glaring problems with this park. There are a lot of transients wandering through this park night & day & they will steal anything they can get their hands on. Big bear problem in the park. The road noise from nearby Glenn Hwy is deafening & nonstop. The theft problem is so bad they have a guard patrolling the grounds every night. They ask you to report anyone that looks like they don't belong there. It's a shame because it has the potential to be a very nice park. it was the least expensive of any park in town. We camped at Centennial Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Riley Creek Campground (NPS Campground), Denali National Park, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

2nd time we've stayed here in 5 years. Nice campground, good access to everything in the park. Many sites not real level. Be sure to come prepared with everything you need because to buy food or dry goods in or just outside the park is obscenely expensive. Milk $6/half gal., 12 grain bread $7.39, Stouffers entree which sells for $2- $2.50 in Walmart is $6.99 here. We camped at Riley Creek Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Beaches River Resort, Blythe, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

One word describes this park, LOUSY!! This is a Passport America discount park, so I mistakenly assumed the park would meet certain basic standards. The sites are not level, & most of the full service sites are permanent or long term residents. The power pedestals are old & in bad condition, as in "code violations". When I opened the cover to our power pedestal, the face plate that holds the plugs fell out. The utilities are grouped between each two sites, so one of you has your hookups on the wrong side. The water on/off spigot of my neighbor was broken off, so he was using my water hookup. Loud music coming from multiple sites, & many barking dogs that the owners (who were sitting outside with them) paid no attention to. The sites along the river looked nicer & newer, but the rest of the park is a ghetto. The sites are so short, we had to back up within 2 feet of the guy behind us just to fit in. We camped at Hidden Beaches River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Midway RV Park, Dexter, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park for overnighting, except for the overpowering smell from the cattle stock yard directly across the road. Fortunately, our rv was airtight enough that we didn't notice the smell much inside the rv, but when we stepped outside it overpowered us. We camped at Midway RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Edgington RV Park, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Decent park, especially if you're travelling thru the area & just need to overnight. Very clean & John, the owner is right on top of things. He shows you to your site & takes care of all the signing in. Electricity is just a little on the weak side but water pressure is fine. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great family rv park. Lots of organized activities for kids and many very unique and popular types of playground equipment. Dramatic improvements over the last 4 years in many areas.
