Pima County Fairgrounds, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

My kind of RV Park. All spaces are 45 ft long and wide enough to park beside your rig or set up your patio. Very clean and very quiet upfront here on the gravel lot. There are spaces on the side and in the back on the grass or in the dirt. Large and small off leash dog parks on both sides of the fairgrounds. Propane available on site. Location is excellent with no traffic issues. $150 a week includes electricity and full 50 amp hookup. A great price compared to other RV parks in the area. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

The Travel Camp, Green River, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Basic park upkeep is absent. Nothing is green and it's all turned to weeds and the restrooms were nasty. Trash can in the restroom was over flowing and paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor. Looks like it'd been at least a day or more since anybody from the RV Park had taken a walk through the rest rooms. Large bags of building insulation were stacked up and leaning against the fence.....looked like they'd been there for quite awhile. Not some place we'd ever go back, but we did meet some very nice fellow campers there that we are staying in touch with. Pet fee of $2 for each of our two dogs. We camped at The Travel Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Rim Station RV Park, Pinedale, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We spent just one night in our 42' 5th wheel w/5 slide-outs being pulled by a longbed, crewcab, F-350. It was very quiet, country setting and each site appeared to be very large, as we drove through to our space. Very long space and we didn't have to unhook but could have and still easily have room for the truck. We were at the very end and next to a very large field full of wildflowers and three horses. The serenity was welcome after spending a week in a very crowded park in West Yellowstone and in the park. The wifi was surprisingly fast (especially for a small park) and the lady in the office as well as the host that showed us to our site were very friendly and very nice! In my opinion, this is an ideal park....especially if you're just passing through, to or from Yellowstone. No trees to obstruct our satellite dish reception was also appreciated! The hook ups (water, elec. and sewer and cable) all appeared to be newer, late model products and looked to be installed for use during freezing temps. Not sure if it's open year around but it sure look like it could be. We camped at Rim Station RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $87.00
Overall Rating:

We had a Deluxe premium pull thought site for our 41' 5th wheel being pulled by a long bed, crew cab F-350. While the site was long enough for the trailer and truck unhooked, the lanes to the space was very narrow and the space itself was even more narrow. My tires were up against the concrete patio on one side and sinking in the grass on the other side. The site was so narrow that when we put our slide outs (5 of them) out, they made the in ground fire pit useless and much of the little patio was under the slide out. We didn't use any of the amenities....just a place to park our 41' RV while we visited the park. Interestingly, we noticed a number of a lot smaller rigs in a lot larger spaces while we were crowded in to this very narrow site. This site should have a discount for large RVs. We did have great Dish satellite service. The restrooms and shower building is older but it was clean. The dog park is exceptionally small (both of them)....especially for an RV park of this size. We camped at Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Wall, South Dakota

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is only 1 block from Wall Drug, an easy walk. A large, spacious park with level gravel sites and good full hook ups. Very easy for me to get my 42' 5th wheel and long bed truck in here. We got here about noon and there's still a little snow on the ground (cold!) so there weren't many here when I took the photos but like most RV parks, they're rolling in now. It's a great location to visit the little town of Wall as well as a home base for the Badlands. We used Good Sam for the discount so it was only $36. This park has very good wifi and a nice dog park. See my photos. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rock Port RiversEdge Campground , Rock Port, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice and very quiet park that's managed by the nicest couple. My propane crossover was malfunctioning and used off of both tanks at the same time so while I thought I still had a second tank of propane on a Sun. I learned that I was out. The park managers tried to call the local propane supply unsuccessfully and made several other attempts to help me find propane on a Sun. Went above and beyond. Finally drove in to St. Joseph to Tractor Supply to get it. This place is very quiet, only a few people here, it's 22F and it snowed. The sites are easy in and out for our 42' 5th wheel with five slide outs. They have forms set around the pool and supposed to pour concrete for the new pool deck this week. We would stay here again. We camped at Rock Port RiversEdge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Safe Harbor RV Resort at Elm Hill, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

The park is only a couple of years old and physically is a very nice park. However, at the rates they're charging I would have expected better service. We arrived, checked in and went to our site (we were not escorted) to find the concrete pad full of tree limbs and broken branches. I got my blower and went to work to clear our space of limbs and branches (it looked like somebody had drove over them as many were broken up in to small pieces). Nice, wide, gentle slope for rain run off with nice hook ups. Each space has a built in fire pit on the corner of the slab and I noticed that ours was full of trash and debris of which some items were non-flammable. Had to clean the fire pit before we could use it. The next day, walking our dogs I noticed other fire pits also had trash and debris in them. I asked at the office about their workampers but she said they don't have workampers....just her and her husband. We stayed four nights in our 42' 5th wheel. We also noticed the trash can across from our space #99 was overflowed when we arrived and it wasn't dumped for the first two days. My wife said the laundry and the bathrooms were dirty....nobody checking them throughout the day. Just general lack of service......especially for being over priced like they are. Some sites had a nice table however, ours did not. We camped at Safe Harbor RV Resort at Elm Hill in a Fifth Wheel.

An old park but the price is right. It's used throughout the day by Camping World Sales and their service dept. It quiets down after they all go home at 4:30 p.m. We were here with out 42' 5th wheel so we had to unhook and park the truck off to the side. There is vehicle parking by the pool. The staff all seem very friendly. We camped at Camping World RV Sales of Chattanooga in a Fifth Wheel.

Stonebridge Campground & RV Park, Maggie Valley, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older RV park that is under new ownership in the past couple of years and is making changes. They have recently poured concrete patio slabs at all of the creekside spaces and put a picnic table on them. They have moved all the full timers or long term people to the west end of the park....opening up the other end for traveling RVers. They have a nice park, that includes nice horsehoe pits, fenced dog park, vollyball court, sitting area near the creek, etc. The premium creekside sites are very nice especially in April, the creek is flowing heavily. We slept with the window open each night, listening to the rippling water rushing down the creek. We were in site A-71 and long enough for our 42' 5th wheel and our longbed crew cab truck unhooked with room for another vehicle if we needed it. The spaces between each site isn't that much, but you spend all your time behind your RV (where the patio and table are located) next to the creek. There is also an in ground fire pit at each site. It is obvious that they're making improvements in this campground. A lot of tree work has been done in the past couple of weeks so not near as many trees as they had in some of the photos. I found the drive in with our 42' 5th wheel easy enough on the drive that we took....as well as another drive when leaving was equally easy enough. One drive way (two lanes) to enter the park and another driveway (two lanes) to exit the park. We will be returning here for a longer period, the next time we come east. We camped at Stonebridge Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

You definitely want to visit the Wheels Through Time Museum. One of the best museums of any kind but this is antique motorcycles and they all run. They fired up four or five of them while we were there. The displays are set up like old time motorcycle shops and they are not roped off. You walk in and around the displays....very surprised at that. The Great Smoke Mountains, Cherokee, Gatlinburg are all worth a day trip.

Charleston KOA, Ladson, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Trash isn't picked up at the campsites until mid to late afternoon. The park entrance drive hasn't been blown or swept in a very long time. Curb appeal could be improved on easily enough. Laundry is $2 to wash and $1.50 to dry.....pricey but they work well. They have a fenced dog park. We were here in a 42' 5th wheel with five slide outs....the largest RV here during our five days but it was easy enough to move in and out. The sites are very close together so not a lot of room outside. Our table was directly between the neighbors water/elec hook up and their sewer dump....not very inviting. The site is level with new asphalt in the pull through. There are just enough trees that they provide a lot of shade but it didn't affect our roof satellite reception. We camped at Charleston KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

International RV Park & Campground, Daytona Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A large RV park right at the edge of the city on International Speedway Blvd. in Daytona and about 2 miles from the race track. It was Daytona Bike week and so they didn't have any vacancy so we opted for their overflow boondocking area. It's a large grassy field on the back side of the lake at the back of the RV Park. It is $22 a night, per person for boondocking during Bike Week. We really enjoyed it...even thow there were approx. 30-40 other people out there in small groups it was so spread out that there was a lot of space and privacy with nice views of the lake. There weren't any hours for the generators but due to the really large area, that wasn't an issue. We stayed there a week. It was at the back of their RV park but very easy to navigate through their park with my 42' 5th wheel and long bed crew cab truck. We camped at International RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Olde Mill Stream RV Resort (55+ park), Umatilla, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for two months at $730 a month. Sites are level and plenty of space for our 42' 5th wheel with our truck and my motorcycle beside our patio. Plenty of room in each site. 55+ park so it's quiet and when it's posted 10 mph, they mean 10 mph....they have a guy patrolling at night with a radar gun in his golf cart. Each site has a concrete slab, picnic table and a tree (our tree was very small). Asphalt driveways are in very good condition. Most are snow birds from the north that are there throughout the winter and then go back home in the spring and have known each other for years. Many activities but we didn't participate in those.....we were to busy exploring the surrounding areas. You are very near the Ocalla National Forest as well as being in Lake County there are many, many lakes so it's very scenic around there. An hour from Daytona Beach. We camped at Olde Mill Stream RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Dam Site (Greers Ferry) COE, Heber Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

With the exception of no sewer at the site (there is a dump up near the gate house), this park is near perfect! It's paved, wide, long pull through in Loop N that is large enough for my 42' 5th wheel plus my crew cab, long bed truck and still more room. Large sites, with good space between you and the next camper. In Oct. it's relatively quiet campground, a couple hundred yards from a very large, beautiful lake. A couple of marinas on the lake (boat rentals, etc.) of which one is at this site. The grass is kept mowed and restrooms are close to Loop N and clean. There's also a couple of swimming beaches here at the Dam Site park. Good satellite reception as well as good Verizon reception. Using my Senion National Park pass I got it at half off so it is only $150 for two weeks. The sites are fairly level and paved. With a few blocks and my six point leveling system, we are level. Approx. 5 miles west of Rapid City on I-90. My ideal kind of RV park.....long (42' 5th wheel and truck, disconnected and still room to spare.....80'?), wide spaces, good electric, water and sewer dump, picnic table, grass and fairly level. Easy in and easy out navigation. Others have complained about the .4 mile of dirt/gravel road being dusty. The posted speed limit is 20 miles however, having gone in and out a number of times, I've found that 10-15 mph there isn't any dust. We camped at Three Flags RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
