Sunny Meadows Campground, Elm Creek, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We almost did not stop after reading the other reviews, but it was on the way, and convenient, and for $15 for full hookups we figured what the heck. The new owner was on-site and very pleasant. The total was $15 including taxes (cash only) for PA. Our site was easy to get into without unhooking and the gravel seemed to be new, so I believe they are upgrading. FYI, the name is changing to 4 seasons.... We camped at Sunny Meadows Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Bridger RV Camp, Fort Bridger, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Good for an overnight stop. Owner met us and helped us into our site since it was dark when we got there. Only reason for service and overall ratings not being excellent was we thought it was a bit high for what you get. Good ATT coverage and limited cable tv available. We camped at Fort Bridger RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Definitely the nicest park in the Half Moon Bay area. The grass is well kept, there is a nice area for your pet to relieve themselves, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We camped at Pelican Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort, Hollister, California

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed it here. Onsite restaurant, ice cream parlor, and fruit stand were great. It was a great stopover before hitting the Bay Area. The site was level and they space out the rigs on slow nights so there is plenty of room. Also, they are okay with washing the RV, which was much needed after a few weeks across the desert. We camped at Casa De Fruta RV Orchard Resort in a Motorhome.

Railside RV Ranch, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with some great amenities, especially for those of us traveling with our furry friends. They have a dog wash room with nice washing basin and pet blow dryer which came in handy after days in the Arizona desert. The dog run area has benches and is very well kept. They also have 2 hot tubs, a clubhouse, and a shuttle to the train and downtown that is on-demand and very prompt. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice Thousand Trails park. That said, there are definitely some cons to go along with the pros: Pros: level site, nice pool and hot tub; electric stayed between 115 and 120v even pulling 30A; nice clubhouse; friendly staff Cons: no laundry (signs says under maintenance, permanent campers say it has been that way); impossible to get 50A unless you reserve in advance; almost touching your neighbor on 1 side; long access road at 10 mph; minimal ATT coverage; paid internet ($6 a day, $15 a week) We camped at Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Cameron Trading Post RV Park, Cameron, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The main redeeming value of this RV park is that it is only 30 miles from the Grand Canyon. The sites were not level at all and are dirt with a few stones. The first site we tried only had 98V of power, and the utilities are set up so you need a VERY long sewer hose to dump or a long electric extension cord... There are no utilities or amenites so the price is steep for what you get. It is first come first served and we only saw about half the sites full the few nights we stayed here. We camped at Cameron Trading Post RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Right next to Mesa Verde NP on US160 between Cortez and Mancos. Cortez is about 10 miles from campground and has a WalMart, grocery stores, and restaurants. Sights are gravel with picnic tables. Sewer required a long hose but else wise utilities were accessable. dog walk area with pond. Pool, 2 hot tubs and playground. There's also a common area with gas fire pit, grills and picnic tables. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sand Dunes Swimming Pool & RV Park, Hooper, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as a base to see the Sand Dunes National Park and to visit the highly rated Greenhouse part of the pool complex. We were not disappointed. You get 1/2 off pool and green house when camping which makes it a good value. We spent our time in the 21+ green house section, well worth the extra money for adults not up for sharing the pool with splashing and diving kids. There was an electric issue where the campground power went below 100V and the surge protector went nuts. I informed the manager and he was on it immediately. Turns out a leg for the whole facility was down and caused the issue. He had it resolved within a few hours and kept us updated, which impressed me. We camped at Sand Dunes Swimming Pool & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Haggard's RV Campground, Pueblo West, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Campground was very well maintained with the owners constantly moving watering hoses around, etc. We were warned of the water being well water so brought our own and were fine for 3 nights. The best part to me was they would not fill all sites because when they do they do not have enough power. Hence, we were given the choice of 2 sites with the other being a "parking spot" for our towed jeep. To me, that is being very considerate of their guests! We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Shel-Oole Campground, Shelby, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a self-service city park campground. You drive in past the ball fields, turn left and you will see a big parking lot camping area followed by some nice pull-thru and back-in sites situated on a tree lined loop. The pull-thru sites are on the right and and are on the side of a big park area in the middle where the restrooms are. The 30 amp electric worked well. No sewer hook-up but there was a dump station. As other reviews noted, water hook-ups are not where you'd expect. We camped at Lake Shel-Oole Campground in a Motorhome.

Golden Nugget RV Park, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

After reading the other reviews, I am thinking most of those were written by folks who have not done much camping in Alaska private campgrounds. Compared to most of the other private campgrounds we have stayed at in Alaska (which we try to minimize), this one is a decent value. We were in 191 along the back fence, which was a level 30A back-in with room for our 35 foot rig and tow car. The bathrooms and showers were clean and functional, the laundry was reasonable (for Alaska) with plenty of machines that worked, and there was plenty of shopping close by. We camped at Golden Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Matanuska River Park, Palmer, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the upper campground - grass sites with 30A power. Water and dump stations included in the fee. The only downside was it took a bit of effort to level-out as the jacks sank into the grass. Very nice manager. She even offered us fresh rhubarb from the great garden they have. We camped at Matanuska River Park in a Motorhome.
