The Wilderness at Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I was looking forward to a great stay with visits to Branson, its attraction, and especially Silver Dollar City. The park was clean, the office was staffed by the host and the laundromat was excellent. I had full hookups which worked, as well as their cable. Several things that rather I felt could be corrected were the abysmal internet service which was totally useless, the site was anything but level, and there was almost no room for my towed. My motorhome is only 30 feet long and maneuvering around was tenuous. I watched a 40 ft. motorhome struggle to make it into a pull through site. I stayed here because it had a shuttle to SDC but I brought a towed so it was not needed. I think if I return to Branson, I'll definitely stay at a different campground. I feel I could have found a better campsite a lot cheaper and with better amenities closer to Branson. We camped at The Wilderness at Silver Dollar City in a Motorhome.

Lake El Reno RV Park, El Reno, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I were travelling to Missouri and got tired driving so we looked for a place to stay. We saw the camping symbol on I-40 so followed the signs to Lake El Reno RV Park. We were delighted with the clean level gravel sites. We put a check for $15.00 in the envelope, the receipt on the windshield, and proceeded to take a walk by the lake. I was so impressed with the campsite that my wife and I decided to stay at the same campground on the way back from Missouri. We had a 30 foot class C with a toad and there was plenty of room at the site. We camped at Lake El Reno RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cochiti Lake COE , Pena Blanca, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is close to home and a real jewel in the desert. We were in site #57 which has a really outstanding view of both sunrise over the lake and beautiful sunsets. Our site was clean, level, and set off from the nearest site. The park hosts are friendly and check-in was relatively quick. Each site has water and electric. A covered picnic table and BBQ grill. My wife and I are seniors and camped here with our grandchildren. There is also a playground for the kids right in the middle of the park. We really enjoy camping here. We camped at Cochiti Lake COE in a Motorhome.

Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

I made advanced reservations, as usual, for my KOA stay. Check-in was fast, friendly, and efficient. We were escorted to our site by a guide in a golf cart. Both water and electric hookups were well placed and were easily reached for use by our RV. All this said, I was told it was obligatory to wear a purple wristband to identify myself as a paying camper as there have been many freeloaders trying to camp for free. I draw the line at having to wear a label. I was told I would be sternly chastised if I did not wear it. My site, #48, was neither flat nor level. I have levelers that were fully extended in the front and my RV was barely level enough to allow me to run the fridge! Most KOA's I have stayed at have had level sites and no ridiculous identification requirements. Kids will enjoy staying here. They have go karts, mini-golf, and a great playground, but I think I can find a better place to stay on my next visit. I was disappointed in this KOA. We camped at Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA in a Motorhome.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as a gateway to visiting Meteor Crater. Check-in was fast and efficient. The park sits just off I-40 but away from highway noise. Train whistles blow nearby at all hours but, to me, are a welcome sound. The grounds are clean. The park is gated for security, a welcome advantage. Being a Good Sam Park, we took advantage of the discount. Our site was wide enough for slide outs and long enough for a RV and a toad. Level too. We would stay here again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.
