America's Best Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 6 nights in October. Campground is well run, a little tight in spacing but OK. Water, sewer, elec, cable were good. Wifi was better than most campgrounds but still not real fast. Good camp store with ticket office for shows. Gravel site was nearly level, only needed one layer of blocks. Good access to town and quiet at night. We camped at America's Best Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Treasure Isle RV Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed two nights on a weekend, pretty full but quiet at night. Gravel pad required a little leveling but fine. Water, Elec, sewage fine. Wifi worked better than most RV parks so good marks there. Note: we used a roof top antennae and were fairly close to office so that helped with Wifi. Cable TV - good selection of channels. Located between Lake Ouachita and Hot Springs. Overall, pleased with stay and would return. We camped at Treasure Isle RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place to stopover while traveling. Concrete roadways and pads, good utilities and easy access to I-40. Internet worked well and good cable TV selection. Can be busy in summer so probably best to make a reservation. Gas station located at exit. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

NRA Whittington Center Campground, Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here overnite while traveling through. Park is 5-6 miles out of town. Utilities were good, no cable TV but good reception with antenna. Internet worked well most of time. Site was gravel and slightly unlevel, looked like most sites will need some adjustments. The park was not crowded since it appeared there were no large groups using the facility. Spacious spacing of sites. Scattered trees but not much shade. We camped at NRA Whittington Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverview RV Park & Campground, Loveland, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 4 nights over a weekend in June. Busy, probably need reservations. Lots of families and kids, good place if you desire a playground and room for kids. Entertainment on Sat night was good. Utilities were good. Internet was better than many RV parks due to us having free access to premium service (basic service wasn't working). Premium usually costs $5/day. Only complaint (and this isn't big) is that utilities are located on every other site so door side of adjacent RV's point towards each other. Had some trouble with cable TV quality but could have been our set. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Custer's Gulch RV Park, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a week while touring the Black Hills. You will do lots of driving while in the area since the attractions are scattered around. Choice of campground should take into account your preferred activities to minimize the driving times. This campground worked well for us since we wanted to be near Custer State Park and its amenities. It rained several days and on those days we drove to Rapid City for the more "inside" activities. This campground is a good choice for a long term stay and it is well maintained. Back in sites are large and easy to get in to. Utilities worked well, average water pressure. No cable TV and antennae stations are minimal. Lots of deer in the area. We camped at Custer's Gulch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for one night while passing thru the area. Good clean park, professional staff. We had a 50A pull thru. It was level although a little short (but workable). Some trees but not all sites have shade. Utilities were good although internet was very slow for a while (got better, particularly in the morning). Note: we do have an antenna on the trailer. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Peak RV Park & Storage (formerly Pinnacle Peak RV Park), Lawton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here while visiting Wichita Mtns and Medicine Park. Very friendly and helpful camp hosts (onsite). They will take credit cards but extra charge if you use it. Cash, checks OK. Gravel spot, level and good utilities. Wifi hard to use on phone inside camper but we have an external antennae on top of RV and it picked up good signal at night on computer. Mustang Run RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for three nights in April 2018. Very good park, particularly when passing thru (located right beside I-40). Traffic can be hectic in the late afternoons due to rush hour but roads are wide enough and its manageable. Good utilities (water, sewer, elec). Wifi poor. Concrete pad was in good shape and level. Its a nice park, convenient and we stay here when passing thru and its usually pretty full, that's why they can charge $45 per night. Tornado shelters on location. Best to make a reservation since they can fill up when events are happening in town. We camped at Mustang Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bushman's RV Park AKA Bushman's Camp, Bullard, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 3 nights in mid week. Very satisfied with facilities. Long pull thru with concrete strips, required slight leveling but no problem. Electricity, water, sewer worked great. Wifi was good but at times would slow to a crawl but most of the time was OK. The park wasn't crowded when we were there but they seem to have frequent groups that may fill the campground. Make reservations to be sure. The front entrance is gated and the park is very secure. Slight road noise from Highway 69 but didn't cause any problems. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bushman's RV Park AKA Bushman's Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Canyon, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights during June, wanted to hike and see the Texas musical. Reservations are encouraged as this park gets a lot of traffic during the June-Aug timeframe. For a state park, the sites are spacious and easy to access. We were in the Sagebrush area and had a back in, level gravel spot with 50A and water that is near the amphitheater. TV reception by antenna worked for several channels and AT&T phone service worked in many places (but not all). Worth the extra effort to stay in the canyon to see the sights. Note: TPWD charges a $5/day per person charge on top of campsite fee. We camped at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights while in the area. Lots of long term campers and the park is big rig friendly. Well kept up facilities. Located about 15 miles south of Colorado Springs on Rte 115. Your rating on the park depends on what is important to you. Here are the pros and cons that we saw. Pros: Friendly staff, clean and neat park, adequate space between spots, deer around in the evening, good walking trails nearby, good park if you stay around your camper during the day, playground and dog park. Cons: No AT&T cell coverage, far enough away from Colorado Springs to be some hassle, occasional low water pressure, lots of variation in campsite utilities and layouts (some have cable, some don't, some have sewer, some don't, etc). TV antenna reception very limited. Wi-Fi difficult to access much of the time. Again, this is a nice park with hard working staff, so check with campground before arriving if certain utilities are important to you. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Leadville RV Corral, Leadville, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 4 nights to hike and day trip in the area. Very central location with lots of outdoor activities available. The campground is located at the edge of town and you can walk into town easily from campground. Initial impression when you drive up may not be good but the gravel sites were level and water, electric, sewer all worked well. Very good cable TV channel selection. Wi-Fi was spotty and we used our iPhone hotspot to get a good connection. Friendly owner and eager to help. The laundry was also fine to use. Overall, this was a good, quiet place for us to stay. If you're expecting a plush campground with lots of activities, this is not the place. If you want a central location to see the area with good utilities, this works fine. We camped at Leadville RV Corral in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Short hike at Twin Lakes to Interlaken resort is well worth the time. For a value meal, eat a $10 steak at Quincys. If you want to visit the local museums, be sure to allow plenty of time since the last tours may be leaving 1+ hrs before the museums close.
