The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone, Verona, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

WOW! This is the nicest campground that we have ever stayed and and we have visited hundreds across the U.S. We were only going to stay for one night since we had been on the road for 3 weeks, but we ended up staying two nights at this very relaxing campground. The landscaping is beautiful, there is a tennis court, basketball court, large pool, trails, ponds for fishing & paddle boat rentals, probably more and also large clean bath houses. The gift shop at the office had great items at very reasonable prices. We could live here. They have a free shuttle 24/7 to a HUGE nice casino that has lots of restaurants in it. The only negative was that the WiFi didn't reach our site so I had to take my laptop to the office/TV Room/Conference room for internet access. I would have given it a 10 if the WiFi had worked at our spot. Would definitely stay here again and might even make it a destination. We camped at The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone in a Motorhome.

Kenisee Grand River Campground, Geneva, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful large campground. Our RV pull through was not level at all. It was so uneven that our auto leveler on our 36' motor home would not level.) It was tight for us to pull into and I had to move the neighbor's picnic bench to fit our MH. Sites for motor homes are very close to each other. They say they have WiFi (which is important to me) but it is a $3.00 charge for 24 hours. Nice little lake and ponds to swim or fish in & a little sandy "beach" to sit on. The office store has some food, snacks & supplies for sale. We paid $30.00 per night with our Good Sam's discount (which is 10% off their rate) plus $3.00 charge to run our air conditioner and $3.00 for Wifi. I would have given this park 10 stars if the extras were not a $3.00 charge for each. Nice landscaping and they have a diner on the campground which has very limited hours. We camped at Kenisee Grand River Campground in a Motorhome.

Wolf's Camping Resort, Knox, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Website & apps say there is internet. Only if you sit at the pool/office area, which requires most campers to drive there & sit out in the elements if you want WiFi. The price is good for the nice wide grassy flat spot that we had. We sat outside at the picnic table for a few minutes, but the traffic (trucks) off I-80 was so loud that it was not relaxing. A few golf carts, but nothing ridiculous as I've read from another review. The office at check in has a nice supply of convenience items that you may need. Pool area looked nice. We camped at Wolf's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Pirolli Park Campground, Petersburg, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice & quiet campground. Rate was $42.00 (I think) with Good Sam discount. About 7ish miles from Hwy. 23. Easy roads & good signage. Most residents are seasonal. We had a large pull through spot with plenty of space around us. Nice size pond and children's playground. Office/gift shop has pizza, potato salad, other fresh foods, and a large amount of souvenirs during their open hours. We camped at Pirolli Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Anderson / Muncie KOA, Anderson, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get to if you follow the signs off I-69. Friendly check-in and pretty, clean, and shaded campground. Quiet grounds except for an occasional train whistle, which we didn't mind as we had the TV on. WiFi was fast and they had 3 (I think) WiFi spots, so you can connect to the one fastest to your spot. Loved that! They provide (for a fee) fishing bait for their pond, ice, snacks, etc. Nice children's playground & plenty of space for pet walking. We only stayed one night but would definitely come back. Wish the price was a little less for just one night's stay. We camped at Anderson / Muncie KOA in a Motorhome.

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park has been renamed to: Archway RV Park. Easy to find and all the RV spots are shaded, level (little gravel and grass) but a bit tight. We were able to pop out our 3 slideouts. Staff was friendly. I was just very disappointed that the Wi-Fi didn't work in the spot they put us in (#42) - close to the entrance and away from the office. And nothing they could do about it. Close to Wal-Mart and some other shopping. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Motorhome.
