Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Not much has changed since our last visit, other than the rates have once again gone up. This is one of our "go to" parks along the I-5 corridor thru Oregon and has been one of our favorite overnight parks in the years we have been RVing. Clean and manicured grounds with concrete pads and patio area. Everything works and the water pressure is good. One thing that kept us from giving it our usual 10 was that there were noticeable dog droppings around our space that "someone" forgot to pick up and we had to be careful not to step in them. Unfortunately this happens when dog owners don't pick up after their dogs or someone allows their dog to take care of business on someone else's space and just walks on. Other than that this is an excellent park with all the expected amenities including shuttle service to the casino and the small downtown area of Canyonville itself. Full service fueling facility as you enter the park with the best rates in the area also. Easy access from and back to I-5 and very little to no traffic noise due to the location behind a hill. Overall one of the best and nicest parks in the area for sure. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Motorhome.

RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino, Corning, California

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park numerous times over the years and not much has changed since our first visit. Good, clean no frills park that is convenient for an overnight stay when going north or south thru Corning, CA on I-5. Sites are fairly level and the hookups are in good order and work well. Again, nothing fancy but it is part of the adjacent casino that does offer good food and a great breakfast buffet. Convenient on and off I-5 and easy to drive into and thru even for the largest RVs. We will continue to use this park on future travels thru the area.............. We camped at RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino in a Motorhome.

Nothing much within walking distance other than the casino that does have 24 hour shuttle service from your site and back. A Chevron station located at the front entrance with a small convenience store for the "basics". A Love's Travel Stop at the next exit going north also...........

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

What can I say that hasn't been said by myself on past visits, and many others who have reviewed this great RV resort. It sets an example for what an RV "resort" should be. Situated on a jetty out in a beautiful fishing harbor and marina, it has all the amenities one would hope to have other than a swimming pool that is really not needed due to it being surrounded by water on three sides. We have stayed here each summer for four summers now and have our reservations made for 2020 as that's how booked they are during the summer months. Check out their website for all pertinent information you need as I've gone into detail with a picture on other reviews of past visits. There is no better RV park or resort on the Pacific ocean but there certainly are some that are a lot more expensive. The rates have gone up this year as there is an expansion coming soon. We received the rate from last year due to making our reservations before we left then. Check it out. If you like the ocean, the fresh air, and some great seafood in the immediate area, you won't find better. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Located at a fishing marina with a small village of shops, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance. Old Salmon Harbor lighthouse is nearby as are the Oregon Dunes. If you need groceries or need to go shopping the town of Reedsport is just up Hwy 101 to the north about 3 to 4 miles and has just about anything you would need including a great place for breakfast called the Harbor Light Cafe.

Shoreline RV Park, Eureka, California

Overall Rating:

We've stayed at this park several times in the past and found it to be a good place for a nightly stopover in the Eureka, Ca area. A no frills park but a good one with little noise from Hwy 101 Our site was spot on level without using our auto-leveling jacks but did put them down just for stability. Easy and quick access to 101. We will continue to use Shoreline RV Park when our travels take us thru Eureka....... We camped at Shoreline RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pala Casino RV Resort, Pala, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times in the past and are pleased with the service and condition of this upscale RV park/resort. It is one of the ones that can truly be called a 'resort' as it has all the amenities that one might expect from an RV resort. Part of the Pala Casino & Hotel it offers free shuttle service 24/7 between the resort and the casino. The interior roads are wide and easy to navigate and the spaces themselves are wide with a well kept grass area and picnic table. Trash is picked up curbside each morning. Very little noise from traffic on the main road out front and no train horns blowing at all hours of the day and night. Very pleasant to sit outside with a morning cup or an evening glass. A guide takes you to your site and helps you in if needed. This has become one of our favorite places to toss out the anchor for a few days or longer. The nearest main city is Temecula where you can find all the things you may need, etc. We will continue to use Pala RV Resort whenever our travels take us south to visit family and friends. With the adjacent casino, gas station and convenience store very close by you can stay for extended periods of time without having to go into Temecula but for possibly a few things. We camped at Pala Casino RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park many times over the years and stayed twice on this last trip. It never disappoints. Great staff, clean and well cared for grounds with good interior roads and spacing between sites. As has been noted in most all past reviews, you park between rows of orange trees and are able to pick as many as you want when they are in season. Unfortunately in May they are not so we missed our fresh orange juice this trip. Everything in the park 'works' and works well and this provides for a safe and convenient stopover for us when in the Bakersfield area. If you are looking for a very nice RV park to stay at while in the general area by all means check this one out. As I said prior, it does not disappoint. The price has gone up over the past year or so but we find this to be true in most all RV parks now due to the general operating costs the parks have incurred. As RVers we pay the price to enjoy the RV life........... We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is our go to RV park in Oregon when driving I-5. Have stayed here numerous times and it continues to provide great service, great sites and great overall upkeep and maintenance of the entire facility. Door to door shuttle service to the casino across the interstate. It is located behind some hills so there is no traffic from I-5 noise at all. Very well laid out with back-ins and pull-thrus that are easy to enter and exit. Great gas stop also prior to the actual entrance. Huge store with just about anything you might need including a great cup of coffee. It is easy to tell that the owners of this park/resort care a lot about it as it shows the minute you enter. This is one that other so called "resorts" could take some lessons from. We stayed here going and returning on this Thanksgiving trip to Washington and they honored the special holiday discount of $24 per night both times which we thought was a very nice gesture on their part........... Overall Rating:

Have stayed at Rolling Hills many times over the years and nothing much has changed since our first visit. It's a good overnight stop along the I-5 corridor and is easy to get into and out of. The casino features a first class buffet breakfast that we really enjoy each time we are there and if gas is needed there is a Chevron (the high priced spread) station right out front at the entrance. Spaces are all pull thrus and are mostly level but for a very few which can take a bit of time to get leveled. Shuttle service from your RV to the casino and back as well as a friendly staff and grounds crew. Iron Horse RV Resort, Elko, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay in Elko and at Iron Horse. We chose it due to the reviews on RVPR and their website but it is by no means a "resort". Easy entry/exit to and from the main street and the interior roads are easy to navigate. Efficient, friendly staff. A lot of permanents live here in both RVs and many of the "tiny houses" that are available. No problem as those spaces are kept up and not trashy or run down, etc. The one row of pull thru sites are set up where RVs alternate and face each other. Hookups are in the middle for both and the spacing on that side is very close. The other side makes up for it with an approximate 30' space between RVs with a nice strip of green grass fronting up to the small cement patio. Everything else is gravel. The wooden picnic bench table setup in most spaces is not good due to being really shabby and run down. The benches and table top both have warped boards, have splintered areas, and are in bad need of either being repaired and re-stained or completely replaced. The very small pool and spa area is nice and kept clean but the two restrooms are outdated and could use a going over. No mirror, no hooks or even a bench, just the bare necessities. We did not check out the main clubhouse restrooms/showers. The one thing we noted that got our attention was the row of back-in spaces directly across from us. We noticed that two Class A coaches had their front wheels about 5" off the ground and that both also had blocks under the fully extended jack pads. This is not good and we would have never accepted one of those back-in spaces due to this. A Class A coach should not have to lift the front wheels off the ground to get level, not in any RV park! So once again this is not a resort but it is a clean and well run facility and is also the best in town in our opinion. Use of the Hilton Garden Inn on the hillside above the park is also granted to those staying at Iron Horse, as is a 20% off on meals in the restaurant. We camped at Iron Horse RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Northern Nevada State Museum was really good and the various displays were really set up well. Something for everyone to see and enjoy. Best breakfast in town is at the Coffee Mug on Commercial Street. Their breakfast potatoes are to die for and the omelettes not too shabby either. In general a fun little city to spend a day or two looking around and the countryside out of town also offers great scenery............

This is another of our "go to" parks when we travel the I-5 corridor thru Oregon. A wonderfully maintained RV park with all the amenities expected in a park of this stature. Very quiet at night even with the close proximity to I-5 due to being located behind rolling hills west of the interstate. Certainly one of nicest RV parks on I-5 anywhere. Everything works and works well and the hookups are excellent and convenient for all types of RVs. We have stayed here numerous times and will continue to do so. Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Simply said this is one of the nicest and best RV parks/resorts we stay at. It simply doesn't get any better than this for us. Incredible harbor and bay views, great facilities, everything works and the sites are asphalt and level and with a nice grassy area and fire pit to sit by. It is easy to see why it is very difficult to get a reservation at this park and why we now make our future ones each time before we leave. A walking path goes completely around the park and is right next to the water. Windy at times but not steady. It can also rain off and on even during the summer months but this is the Oregon coast after all. Two large restroom/laundry room buildings are within easy walking from all areas in the park and they are kept spotlessly clean at all times. A small gift/novelty shop is within the office building located just within the main entrance. Really great staff and personnel. Not an easy place to get reservations but well worth it if you can and if you have some flexibility as to dates and being willing to most likely move at time or two while there on an extended stay as this place is constantly full. The sign out front says that every day and time of the year we are there. One morning one of the office gals told us there were 48 leaving and 48 arriving that day so that about says it all........ A small marina is situated directly across the small bay from the park as is a small village with several shops and great places to chow down on some great seafood and clam chowder, etc. Griff's and the Crabby Cafe are two of our favorites. These are within walking distance for most. There is also a small market with all the essentials located at the main turnoff from Hwy 101 into the bay area. You would need some form of transportation to it however if you aren't into a longer walk....

Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times and have made it one of our go to overnight stops along the I-5 corridor in No. California. Clean, well laid out, with easy access and egress, and quiet at night even tho close to the interstate due to a Holiday Inn Express that blocks a lot of the traffic noise. Being a short overnight stop we don't use any of the facilities but have checked them out in the past and everything there is also up to par should you have need to use them. The friendly and efficient staff is always a pleasure to talk with and there to help if help is needed. Good hookups, level pads and nice views of the surrounding hills, along with close proximity to local eateries and shopping all make this a really good stopover or for longer stays as well................. Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at this really nice Casino/RV park. Although a tad on the pricey side it is has been built and arranged very nicely and is certainly one of the best RV parks of this type we have stayed at. Spotlessly clean in all areas and with a friendly and helpful staff. Great views of the rolling hills that surround it. Adjacent to a large casino/hotel complex, it is an easy walk back and forth or you can simply call for the shuttle that will pick you up right at your site and take you back after you are ready to call it a night, etc. Very nice pool area and horseshoe pit. Easy to maneuver larger RVs as the inner roads are wide and fully paved as are the pads and patios. Nicely manicured grassy area between each site. "Everything" works and works well and that makes your stay hassle free. You pay $10 up front for a special coded card that allows access to restrooms, workout room, and several other coded areas within the park but this is refunded when you leave. We will definitely be using Pala on future trips to this area...... We camped at Pala Casino RV Resort in a Motorhome.

There is a gas station/convenience store very close by. If you enjoy sitting out in the afternoon by your RV be sure to choose a back in site that faces north as the afternoon sun can be hot and very bright. The pull thru sites face in a southerly direction and have the sun right at their door in the afternoon.

Overall Rating:

This was our first stay at this county park and we were not disappointed. Nicely kept facility with spacious sites and good hookups. Located east of the city of Yucaipa in an area of rolling hills, the views from within the park are very nice Only negative for us was that we were unable to get satellite reception for news and other programming due to the many trees that block satellite reception. There are a few open sites without trees where reception would be received but the park was full up when we were there for a two day family visit. We are not big TV people by any means but we do watch the morning and evening news when traveling so this was a negative for us. Spaces are asphalt as are the interior roads and the scenery is very nice all throughout the entire park. Family friendly and no doubt a great place of kids as there is fishing and hiking, etc. and other fun things for them to do. We would stay here again as this is the best bet in in the general area.................. We camped at Yucaipa Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is our go to park when we travel thru the Bakersfield area on our way south or north and stay the night. Never a disappointment and always an enjoyable stay. The oranges were ripe and ready to pick. We stay in the south side section as there is less noise from traffic on Hwy 58, which by the way is really not that noticeable in the north section. We just like the south section as the sites just seem to be a bit more "roomy". Everything is clean and the main clubhouse has to be seen to be believed as it is like being in a large and cozy mountain cabin the way it has been decorated. Every space we have stayed in over the years has been level and the jacks have only been lowered for stability. Spotless restrooms, as is the rest of the park. Very friendly staff and check in is quick and easy. Propane is available on site. Just a great stop over or longer stay park with everything going for it. Fresh coffee and donuts in the morning are great also. Not really a destination park for us but it is always full up or close to full up when we have stayed there. We stayed there twice on this recent trip........... We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.
