Olde Stone Village RV Park, McMinnville, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here twice before, once for a week and once for a month. This time, two weeks. One of our favorite stops out of 200+. We find everything about it just really nice. Large registration area. Friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Nice pool. Lots of grass and just enough shade trees. Good spacing of sites. Wide asphalt roads. Level, concrete pads and patio. Great picnic table that converts to benches if you'd rather. Utilities are easy to get to. Extensive cable t.v. WiFi worked great. Restrooms are private with sink, toilet and shower, always clean. Off Highway 18 far enough that it's very quiet. Walking path to Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. We camped at Olde Stone Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Columbia Riverfront RV Park, Woodland, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

About a mile and a half off I-5 and about 30 miles from Portland. Right on the banks of the mighty Columbia River. The front of the RV park is indeed a park. Acres of lush green grass with benches and chairs to enjoy the river. Very nice pull in and pull thru sites with park and river in front. Asphalt roads and level, gravel sites, some with grassy patio areas. Picnic table. No cable. Excellent WiFi. Ok to stream video. Very nice restrooms. We camped at Columbia Riverfront RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fidalgo Bay Resort, Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here twice before. The new online reservation policy is not to our liking. We plan way in advance and have our trip locked in with set days, but even 180 days out we have not been able to get the site we wanted. Our preferred site is a cabana, which is actually a double site with a lot of room to spread out. With that said, we did have a lovely pull in site on the upper level with a bay view. The lower area is too congested for us, with playground, group picnic, event center, etc. it seems as if he cabanas are being taken over by full timers, which is unfortunate. The Internet really drops off the further away from office you are. The multi use path running thru the RV park is very popular. The restrooms in the upper area are very nice, as is the laundry. Gravel interior roads and level, gravel sites. Grassy patio area but most sites the grass is brown. Roads are a little tight but manageable. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Brookside Campsite, Cache Creek, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Tight entry, tight steep approach to sites and tight roads. Sites are small, not really suitable for big rig (40'+) looking to stay hooked up. Site 9 looked like the only chance to do so. Really quick check in. She writes your site # on the back of a business card and sends you on your way. WiFi was hit or miss. We were able to get satellite but with all the large tress guessing we were lucky. Gravel roads and sites. Mostly level. Small hedges provide some separation. 30 amp. Utilities worked fine. No cable. We camped at Brookside Campsite in a Motorhome.

Sintich RV & Trailer Park, Prince George, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Two entrances, one from the north and one from the south. The one for coming from the north takes you straight to the office but is filled with potholes. This is a very attractive manufactured home park with about 30 RV sites. About half are back in and half are pull thru. The roads and sites are hard pack dirt/gravel. The sites are level. There are grassy patios with a picnic table. Some shade trees. The voltage was good as were the other utilities. We were able to get limited satellite service. There appears to be cable but think you have to get a box or something from the office to use it. The WiFi was good at times, bad at other times. Three bars with T-Mobile piggybacking on Canada Bell. The pull thrus are a bit further from the highway noise than the back ins. Bathrooms are fine. No charge showers. We camped at Sintich RV & Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

About five miles south on 97 after exiting Highway 16. You'll pass a Shell (Flying J) on you left where you can pump bulk DEF instead of filling up with those containers that cost a fortune.

Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground, Telkwa, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

When's the last time you went to an RV park and they told you to stream video on their WiFi to your heart's content? Welcome to Fort Telkwa! Right off the highway with some road noise and trains running on the other side of the river. Registration area is tight; we barely managed to get our rig and toad off the highway. The owner was very pleasant and drove me around in her cart to select our site. Back in and pull in sites, some with a nice view of the river below. The pull thru sites are on the side of the road and not very inviting. Roads and sites are gravel. Sites are mostly level. Good 50 amp service and good utilities. Cable TV with about 25 digital and 40 analog channels. Did I mention the screaming WiFI? Our site was not able to lock on to the satellites, but other sites looked promising. Very nice private restrooms with free showers and a sauna that was out of order. Very nice laundry. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Bear River RV Park, Stewart, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Just off the highway before you get to town. The drive from Meziadin Jct. is beautiful but a little slow. Large registration area. Friendly staff. No true pull thrus. There are a few pull in sites where you can pull thru if you're the 1st one there; otherwise back ins and pull ins. Good 30 amp service. Good Verizon cell signal piggybacking on Canada Bell. No cable. No OTA. Could not get satellite reception; most sites surrounded by large trees. Utilities were fine. Restrooms were fine and the showers require loonies. A grassy area in front of the office where you can walk your dog. Roads and sites are dirt/gravel. Sites and placement of utilities are a mix bag of different arrangements too hard to describe. Sites are level. WiFi one hour free per 24 hours per device. Others plans available for a price. We camped at Bear River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Shadow RV Park and Campground, Iskut, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A diamond in the middle of nowhere. The setting is spectacular. The entrance road is about a third mile long, taking you to a very inviting check in area. Down the stairs and into a log cabin, the owners' home, where the registration takes place at the kitchen counter. The pull thrus are LONG. 9 pull thrus and about the same # back in. Good 30 amp service. Water pressure was not good. No sewer. Lovely lake with a float plane sitting at the dock. Roads and sites are gravel. Sites are mostly level. Pull thru sites are tiered, with nice spacing. Grassy patio areas with picnic table. Nice trail out to the lake. A couple miles from the town. Restrooms are very nice, one private men's and women's with loonie coin shower, sink and toilet. No cable. Our satellite (DISH) worked fine but neighbor had no luck, not sure what provider they had. Really good WiFi, but just a free hour and you have to use it all at once. $2 per hour thereafter. No cell signal from Verizon, T-Mobile or Canada Koodo). We camped at Mountain Shadow RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Yukon Motel & Lakeshore Resort, Teslin, Yukon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Large area out front but congested with trucks, gas pumps and patrons dining at the restaurant. Find a spot to park and register in the restaurant. Dirt/gravel roads and sites. Sites have a bit of a downward slant to them. Patchy grass patio with picnic table. Bay in front of RV Park. Restaurant and big rig friendly gas pumps are part of the complex. 4 cents a litter discount on the gas if staying at the RV park. Didn't eat but the baked goods looked yummy. Staff was very pleasant. 30 amp with 116/116 voltage. Water pressure was good. No sewer. Nice laundry. Restrooms were o.k. Showers and sinks need work. No charge for showers. No cable. Satellite worked. Some highway noise. Verizon (Canada Bell) with three bars. WiFi very good but only available at restaurant/front porch, and gets you just an hour of usage. We camped at Yukon Motel & Lakeshore Resort in a Motorhome.

Ranch House Lodge & RV Resort, Glennallen, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Not quite as enamored with this place as other reviewers. The owners are very nice, but the place is definitely a work in progress. Going for the rustic look. Hard pack dirt/gravel roads and sites. Super sites are long and wide, with a couple having a creek view. Picnic table. Owner working the roads/sites, dump truck and grader, all day, circular saw cutting roofing sheets, a bit noisy and dusty. 2 restrooms look like outhouses from outside but beautiful inside. Nice creek. Utilities worked fine. No cable. Good WiFi. Verizon worked fine. About 14 miles west of town. No site #s. No laundry. We camped at Ranch House Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bayside RV Park, Valdez, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Great location. Easy walk to harbor, restaurants, Safeway and day cruises. Gravel parking lot. Front row has nice view of wildlife marsh and a bit of the bay. Back to back sites except the very back row which backs up to grassy area and busy street. If you're first in you can pull thru but no true pull thrus, will still have to unhook. The one exception was our site, #41, which was an end spot pull thru. Very nice except your patio area is kinda in the road but there's enough room to put the picnic table in front of the RV. You can ask for 50 amp but you should be prepared to get 30 amp. Utilities work fine. Spots are tight, may or may not get your patio awning out. Picnic table. Office area has a nice covered deck with picnic tables where internet worked very good; not good at all at our site. Very nice laundry and five private bathrooms with no charge showers. Water pressure good. Voltage good. Verizon strong signal. Cable with 60 channels including HBO. Satellite worked fine. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Garden City RV Park, Skagway, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This place and it's sister RV park Pullen Creek are operated by the City. This place is about ten blocks from the touristy section, while Pullen is in the thick of it. This place has 30 amp, sewer and pull through sites, whereas Pullen has some 50 amp but no sewer and no pull throughs. The place was nicer than I expected. We had a 63' pull through. Grass patios but no picnic table. Gravel roads and sites. Level. No satellite or cable. NBC and PBS on OTA. Low voltage, at one point 109/109. Water pressure o.k. No WiFi. You can sign up for a hotspot, reasonable but sluggish and difficult getting on and staying on. Friendly staff. Restrooms were nice. 4 quarters gets you 4 minutes. Nice laundry. Little shade. The park perimeter and back 2 rows filled with extended stay, most units very run down. We camped at Garden City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Discovery Yukon Lodgings, Beaver Creek, Yukon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

About 30 miles from Beaver Creek. What a pleasant surprise. Expected another potholed gravel parking lot. A lovely RV park in a beautiful setting. Old military camp from the days of the Alaska Highway construction. WiFi at office, but it never worked. Just there overnight otherwise would have dinged them a couple points for that. Satellite with local programming out of Anchorage or Fairbanks. No cable. Water pressure poor. Good 30 amp service from an on-site diesel generator. Nice grassy patios. Huge greenbelt/runway in front. $1 for 2 minute showers. Office filled with stuffed wildlife. No glossy brochure. Staff walks in front of your RV and leads you to your site then talks to you about the amenities. Nice washrooms and private showers. Gravel roads and sites. Level. Beautiful little pond with fountain and flowers. Army green tents and really cute cabins. We camped at Discovery Yukon Lodgings in a Motorhome.

Destruction Bay Lodge and RV Park, Destruction Bay, Yukon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The owner had no help and a big caravan coming in that he had to feed, so I felt for him, but still. There are no site #'s, so it's awkward. He didn't have the time to show us to our site, which at the time was an empty parking lot. Go here, turn there, swing back and park next to that thing. Thanks, crystal clear. Oh, and we're putting in a new septic so there's currently no restrooms. And having trouble with trash pick up so could you take your trash with you. And oh, even though we advertise free WiFi, it got too expensive to maintain, so no WiFi. But we get good cell signal so I'm sure you can get Internet on your phone. Well yeah, if we had a phone with a data plan, which we don't. And even if we did, it would be a U.S. plan and we're in Canada, eh. On the grid 30 amp service worked fine, good steady voltage. Water pressure good. No cable. No sewer. Hard packed dirt/gravel parking lot. Mostly level. Scenic area with mountains one way and bay the other. Lodge offers food. There is a big rig friendly park right next door. Satellite worked fine. No picnic table. Sites are tight. We camped at Destruction Bay Lodge and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Homer / Baycrest KOA, Homer, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is that one time you may actually want a back in site. Wonderful bay views on the lower level. Best back in sites are 3-10. There are pull thrus on the upper level. They don't have the view but they are more spacious, have (brown) grass, a concrete patio and also more highway noise. 5 showers and ONE unisex toilet for the entire park, including a fair number of dry campers and tent campers. And the toilet, showers and laundry all are in the same space. Convenience/gas station out front. Right off the highway. Good utilities. Could not get Verizon service. WiFi was pretty good. Satellite reception no problem. Picnic table and fire pit. Sites are level. Gravel roads and sites. Really lousy water pressure. We camped at Homer / Baycrest KOA in a Motorhome.
