Deep Creek Lake State Park, Swanton, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Staff here is wonderful, and the setting is beautiful. The sites are private and large, but the actual usable space is rather small when you have a travel trailer. I guess these are fairly old sites. Very good discovery center and great places to explore in nearby towns. The only reason I would not give this park a higher rating is that the shower house is really in need of a good cleaning. The walls and the floors need regular power washing. We camped at Deep Creek Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Oakland is a nice town. We visited the museum, walked around town, and had a great lunch at Dottie's Grill and Fountain. And don't miss the Farmers' Market in Oakland. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Highly recommend Mountain State Brewing near Wisp ski area for a great dinner and craft beer. Swallow Falls is just beautiful.

Patapsco Valley State Park - Hollofield Area, Ellicott City, Maryland

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful park. It seems like you are out in the woods away from it all, yet, within a very short amount of time, you can be in the lovely, quaint Ellicott City or in Baltimore. We loved it. The park is well-maintained and the rangers and staff are very friendly and helpful. We camped at Patapsco Valley State Park - Hollofield Area in a Travel Trailer.
