Travelers Campground, Alachua, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Unique layout of RV sites in overnight section. Park in long rows one behind another. There are cross roads to easily exit. Shady sites with picnic tables. Someone was observed continually riding around checking on sites and cleaning. The restrooms clean and cheery. Loved the dog park. Very large with agility equipment. There is dog wash station although we did not try it. There are fenced areas for folks traveling with horses. Farm animals including goat and an emu made it fun to watch while taking relaxing walk. Only drawback was we were far from office if anything needed because park very big and did not unhook for overnight stay. Didn't see any offers for food delivery. This was our second stay here and highly recommend it. Near highway. We camped at Travelers Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just north of Gainesville. Plenty of shopping in this University of Florida area. If not unhooking, bring food with you. Try to get site in back near dog parks. Otherwise a long walk. Enjoy staying here. The long term stay folks in different section. Overnighters in another section.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Expensive but pleasant. Sites spacious and shady. Convenient to highway. Stayed several days to do antiquing. Everything worked well. Enjoyed Noblesville. Lot of shopping in Greenfield. Stayed right near dog park which was nicely maintained with agility equipment. There is a path that cuts through park to office, a short walk. Pool beautiful. Would stay there again. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA, Corbin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Compact in size for a KOA Journey. This means everything close which is good after days drive and too tired to walk far. This park is very shady and welcomed after high heat temps. Staff friendly. Dog park ok in size but gate not that secure. Smart poodle figured out to to open it which has never happened anywhere else. Bathrooms dated but everything worked fine. Pool looked nice. Only reason for less than excellent rating is very tricky to exit. Have to weave around building in a loop to leave. Very tight, narrow road. Would stay again. We camped at Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA in a Motorhome.

Covert / South Haven KOA, Covert, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Acceptable layout for a KOA but not overly beautiful. Prices high in this tourist area so it is a convenient location for a short stay to visit South Haven Lighthouse. Very Nice staff, good store. Some sites not level. Lots of space between sites but no privacy. Dog park was great with agility equipment and close by. Surrounding area not too nice so shop in South Haven. Wish our site had gravel, not just grass. We camped at Covert / South Haven KOA in a Motorhome.

Vacation Station RV Resort, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one week to visit and explore Ludington. Friendly RV park nicely laid out in rows alternating direction of angled sites with ample space between them. Clean concrete pad, fire rings and meticulous maintenance. Utilities worked fine. Nice, large dog park. Lovely pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Just a few minutes from town, shopping, Lighthouse, municipal beach with benches and State Park with great beach. Potluck dinners enabled us to meet people. Wish we could have stayed longer. Only minor drawbacks: you have to take garbage to dumpster and little landscaping between sites to make them feel more private. Wish we could have stayed longer. We camped at Vacation Station RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Aldi, Super Walmart, pet supply store, Meijor, Shop n Save, produce markets right near by. Enjoyed Red Apple Bagel, steaks from Sanders Meats. Very cheerful, happy place to stay. There is a long waiting list for seasonal rentals. We were near office. Sites near dog park looked less shady but seasonals located near this stay near one another.

Clinton / Knoxville North KOA, Clinton, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Very disappointed because we needed place for one night on way up to Michigan. The sites are very close together with no landscaping in between. Walked to showers in main building. Very dated, dark and water came out as trickle out of very old shower head. Old knobs, peeling paint in restroom. Cable and WiFi worked great and utilities fine. Priced very high but convenient to 75. We camped at Clinton / Knoxville North KOA in a Motorhome.

Travelers Campground, Alachua, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, huge RV park just north of Gainesville, FL. The design showed much thought and care. There were paved rows with RV spots assigned to spaces along each row. Roads in between the rows and cross roads for easy exit. Good lighting. The dog parks were huge fenced fields with agility equipment. There were farm animals in a nearby fenced area and not sure but there may have been field for those traveling with horses. Lots of shade. This is a very large property and we were not near the office. Suggest bringing food with you if not going out to eat. This is a great quiet location, not far from 75 and the University of Florida or other popular areas nearby. Great place to stay for several days. We camped at Travelers Campground in a Motorhome.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful, country setting. Great location halfway between Memphis and Nashville. Sites had concrete pads and spaced far apart. Very clean. There is no dog park but plenty of land to walk around including a pond with ducks and seating. Farm with views of cows behind RV park. Not too far from highway. There are restaurants near the interstate entrances but recommended to bring food with you. Just a great place to relax. Cable very good, WiFi average. Historic area with Civil War era battlefield. If we had the time, we would have visited. The owners have taken great pride in this campground. Really enjoyed the pastoral setting after long, long journey from Arizona to Florida. The pictures are the website are accurate . Hope to stay there again on next big trip out west.

Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA, Sallisaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Average KOA. Sites spaced apart alright with packed dirt surfaces and grass between sites but park overall lacked appeal. There was shade. The staff members were pleasant and helpful. We had to exit the park and turn around in a parking lot nearby to re- enter to the propane filling station near the office. The dog park was ok with lots of leaves and shade. A little muddy. Convenient one night stay. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Hot Springs National Park KOA, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful, woodsy above average appear for a KOA. The terraced sites were pleasing and afforded more privacy than many KOAs where sites right next to one another. The dog park had a rustic feel with a wood fence. The fence was very low so if you bring a large dog that likes to jump, be careful. The dog park was muddy and part of fence splintered. The staff fixed it right away. The staff were very friendly. We really enjoyed staying here. Not too far from the Hot Springs NP which was fascinating with its restored bathhouses, and lovely town with restaurants. This RV park highly recommended. Hoping dog park fence redone with higher fence, mud covered with gravel or grass. We camped at Hot Springs National Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

First stay at RV park behind a casino. Spotless, well designed concrete park. Gravel between sites with pretty desert type landscaping. Well lit. Two dog parks that were spotless and spacious. Laundry room offered new machines and cheap. Shuttle available to take folks to casino. The restaurant was very good. Only negative was the desert plants inside the dog park were a real nuisance. Poodle fur attracted the flowers. Took hours to brush out. Hoping owners remove the bushes inside the dog park. Great for stays to/from ALBUQUERQUE. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, pleasant RV park convenient for trips to the Grand Canyon NP. The entire RV park is concrete with gravel between the sites. Well lit. Walking distance to Williams, and a great Safeway supermarket 2 blocks away. There is a dog kennel behind the office for those taking the train up to the park. Looked alright but we did not leave our puppy there. No dog park but a narrrow area to walk dog. We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Motorhome.
