Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay at the Bowling Green KOA. We booked the "buddy sites" with some friends which are large pull-thru sites facing each other on the far end of the park. We had a large concrete patio between the rigs that was really nice. Site was level and included two tables and a portable fire pit. Sewer site is far back from the water and electric hookups. I had to add an extension hose to reach the sewer connection. Road noise from the nearby I-65 was minimal. Other than the sewer connection (which was at the rear of my rig) utilities were situated conveniently (I had to buy a sewer extension hose). Cable worked well and provided many channels. We enjoyed our stay and will be back during Derby Week. There are many restaurants nearby and Camping World is about a mile away. The only downside is the road exiting the park. You'll need to make a right-hand turn to get out of the park and if you have a long rig you need to swing wide to clear a large ditch. It's a two lane road and heavily traveled, so it can take a while to get enough clearance to exit. Camping World is nearby and restaurants galore. The Corvette Museum is right down the road. We camped at Bowling Green KOA in a Motorhome.

Ozarks RV Resort on Table Rock Lake (formerly Outdoor Resorts of the O, Oak Grove, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

We had a really nice site on the end, at the top of the hill. Not much of a lake view but the site itself was beautiful. It had lot of landscaping, a fountain, lighting, etc. Nice shade tree on the awning/patio side. Fully equipped with patio furniture, tables, etc. Like I said, super nice. It is a hilly park, so walking will give you a good workout. If I were to go back, I think I'd try to get a spot on the lake where it's a bit flatter. The big issue, is there's virtually no cell service and the wifi leaves a lot to be desired. Also, it's at least 17 miles to Branson and any shopping or restaurants. And that 17 miles is winding narrow road. It's very inconvenient. Better stock up on provisions before you arrive. If you're planning on using this park as a base for visiting Branson, you'd be better off finding someplace else to go. We camped at Ozarks RV Resort on Table Rock Lake (formerly Outdoor Resorts of the O in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

As stated, it's a long drive to the closest shopping and restaurants. No store onsite for any essentials and the closest food was a little burger/pizza joint down the road a few miles that was hardly ever open. When turning into the road that leads to the park, it's sharply banked. I nearly felt like we were going to tump over when making that turn.

This is our go-to campground in Crossville. So nice and peaceful. We like the campsites that back-up to the lake. They have a patio, swing and it's just a nice place to be. We camped at Spring Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Travelers Campground, Alachua, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight spot. The park has a very strange pull-through arrangement. You are lined up in a queue. We were in a row of 3 different rigs, one behind the other. If you need to leave prior to the ones in front you have to cut across the other sites to get out. It works, but seemed strange. We camped at Travelers Campground in a Motorhome.

Cain's Creekside RV Park, Hahira, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here overnight. It's a decent park and the pull-through sites were fine for our needs. The only reason for the bad rating on service, is there was nobody in site. We had a hard time finding someone so we could pay for the night. Overall, it's a nice little park, just not many people on site. We camped at Cain's Creekside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Orlando SE / Lake Whippoorwill KOA, Orlando, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

I've found KOA's in general as at least, consistent in what they provide. That said, I will not visit this KOA again. We made reservations for our site months in advance. Upon arrival, they have an employee escort you to your site and assist you in parking. Our site was too short for our motorhome (40 foot). The employee kept wanting me to back up and I could see in my rear-view camera that the rear of my coach was about to hit a large stand of bamboo right behind the rig. I stopped and he came to the drivers window and said "you need to backup about 3 feet, you're not sitting on the pad.". I told him "I'm about to hit the bamboo and I'm not going back any farther." He said "you aren't going to hurt the bamboo, you've got to move back farther." I said "I'm not moving another inch as that will damage my paint." After a bit of arguing I shut it down. I walked around back and was 4 inches away from a 1" piece of cut-off bamboo punching a hole in my rear cap. I showed him the issue and he said they'd send a crew over to trim back the bamboo so I could backup properly. They never sent anyone. My second issue is that this KOA has employees running around everywhere. There's always someone on a golf cart riding around, prowling around your campsite weed-eating or who knows what. The sites are already very close together so privacy of any kind is non-existent. Prior to leaving at the end of our stay, I checked things on the motorhome to make sure it was road-ready and found my antifreeze a bit low. I topped that off and started the engine to bring it to temp to recheck. It had maybe been running 3 minutes when I see a KOA employee scoot under my awning. I went outside to see if he needed help and was sternly told I wasn't allowed to run my generator in the campground. I wasn't running the generator, it was the engine and I told him in a few minutes I would be finished. We won't be back. We camped at Orlando SE / Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

2 Rivers Campground, Carrollton, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This gem has become our home away from home in the summer. Beautiful campground nestled right on the banks of the Kentucky River. Sites are concrete and level with concrete patios. Full hookups right where they need to be and super clean. It's a fairly new park with a LOT of pull-through sites and several back-ins. Our favorite sites are the back-ins that are overlooking the river. I've always paid in advance on their website or called the office as there's nobody on site that I've ever seen. Every now and then a City of Carrollton truck might wander through (the park is city owned) but that's about it. No hassles whatsoever. Carrollton has several good sit down restaurants, a Walmart and a Kroger, so almost anything you'd need is just a few miles away. If you're feeling adventurous, take a trip across the bridge to Madison, Indiana where you'll find more mighty fine eating establishments, antique shops, cafes, etc. We camped at 2 Rivers Campground in a Motorhome.

Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park smack dab in the middle of Lancaster County. Very convenient location to Bird in Hand and Intercourse. Lots of restaurants close by. Owners were very helpful and were able to get us into a site on July 4th holiday weekend while we were traveling. We stayed on a buddy site which is like two-sites for the price of one. Plenty of room for motorhome, Jeep, and parking. We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Motorhome.

Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA, Clarksboro, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park. It's just recently converted to a KOA and there's work being done. We had a really nice shaded pull-thru site right at the front of the park. It was easy to access, level and the utilities worked well. They have a wonderful fenced grassy dog park that our dogs loved and was ver convenient. Convenient location to Philly also, maybe a 25 minute drive with traffic. It's in a quiet location so there's not any road noise to speak of. We camped at Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA in a Motorhome.

Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are big grassy sites, which sounds strange but was really nice. You are basically backed up to another unit. Utilities were an easy reach and the park is really clean. Nice pool and clubhouse. It really is a resort as there are permanent sites on one side of the campground. They have a fenced wooded pet run but it is on the permanent side and there's not parking (it's quite a walk). Wifi was pretty much useless. We camped at Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

This park is what it is. It's the closest place to park your RV and visit Manhattan. That's it. It's a large gravel parking lot with RVs angled in side-by-side. You have to back in and the tail end of your RV will be facing the side of another RV. The utilities worked fine, but the dump station is horrid. We did not dump before we left, we just waited till the next stop. Pets are allowed but there is NOWHERE to walk your dog. We had to walk ours back into a boat storage yard where we found a few patches of grass. All that said, this is our 4th stay here. It's just the only place there is. It is safe, as they have a security guard that walks the lot at all hours. Public transportation is nearby and there are a TON of restaurants within a mile or so, even within walking distance. The PATH is about 5 blocks down and there is a train that runs right next to the park. It HAS actually gotten a lot better as they are building some high-dollar condos all around the campground. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Campground is only a few miles from the beach and convenient Salem and Boston. It's a bit of a drive but while there we visited Salem, Boston and the beach. Sites are close together but it's a clean park. Good utilities and ease of hookup. Pad was concrete and dead level. Park is gated and you have to have a key to enter, so it felt secure. Wifi was just ok (as usual for RV parks). They have two dog areas, one a small fenced area and another large wooded fenced area. Our dogs LOVED it. We camped at Beach Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice little park. It's a few miles outside of Bennington and it's best to enter through the ski area that's beside the campground. Sites are scattered about and there's a bit of distance between you and your neighbor. Nice babbling brooks was right outside our front door and there are several ponds and walking trails. The owner is super nice and lives onsite. He was very helpful. No sewer sites that I am aware of but there is an easy to access dump station. We really enjoyed our stay.
