Jennings KOA (formerly Jennings Outdoor Resort Trav-L-Park), Jennings, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. There is a lake, a pool, a dog walk & a dog park, a laundry & playground. They sell pizza & wings delivered to your sight. Almost all sights are satellite friendly but they have cable, too. There is Wi Fi. The park is right off I 75 but there is very little road noise. We would stay here again. We camped at Jennings KOA (formerly Jennings Outdoor Resort Trav-L-Park) in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake, Scottsburg, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Just about half dozen sites with 50 amp full hook up. Maybe 2 or 3 of them able to get satellite signal. No cable. Some sites with full hook up 30 amp. A good portion of the camp is designated for seasonal guests. No RV's over 40 feet long allowed. No dog park but lots of places to walk the dog. They do have WiFi and a nice pool. They have a laundry. There is a nice playground for kids. They have a lake. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake in a Motorhome.

Waffle Farm Campgrounds, Coldwater, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Like a previous post said this is an old fashioned campground. Mostly campers & some smaller 5th wheels. We only saw 3 motorhomes, including ours & I can't remember seeing any class C or B RV's. Lots of families here for the weekend. A large part of the park is seasonal, permanent campers. On Saturday the park was full. They were having a festival. Chili cookout, etc. Starting at 6 pm there was a band, a loud band & it went till quiet hours which here is 11 pm. Although we were told we should be able to get satellite signal at our site there was no way. I could see no sights that would be able to get satellite with a roof mounted system. There is cable though. Sites are not level because they are on grass. When it rains even a little the roads are muddy. There are no fire pits just dirt spots in the grass to use for campfires. The office staff was friendly & so were the guests. We camped at Waffle Farm Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Wild Cherry Resort, Lake Leelanau, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoy this park. It is quiet & peaceful even in summer but now after Labor Day it really is quiet. I believe they have one pull thru site but the rest are back ins or front ins. Our site was a front in facing the lake. These sites are for motorhomes only. Lots of grass & places to walk the dogs. No dog park though. No cable but I believe all sites are satellite friendly. There is Wi Fi. Garbage pick up at your site daily & a newspaper, too. There is a club house but I don't know what is offered there. New this year- there is a service fee if you pay with credit card. Otherwise they take cash or check. We will be back next year. We camped at Wild Cherry Resort in a Motorhome.

Duck Creek RV Resort, Muskegon, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. In the summer it is crowded with families. This time we were here just after Labor Day & most of the campers had left. Still lots of seasonal people left their RV's but were gone from the park. Assuming they might come back on weekends. Anyway, it was peaceful & quiet while we were there. It is a gated park. There is a pool & a beach. A nice playground for the kids. Lots of room to walk the dogs. There is a dog park in the corner of the campground. It is not the nicest one I have ever seen; no grass just mulch. This is the only park we have been to that asked to see the dogs rabies certificates. Not a problem. We always carry it with us. 95 % of the sites are satellite friendly. They do have cable & Wi Fi. The sights are level. Tow cars parked off to the side. The sites are all back in. Garbage is picked up daily at your site. Definitely a park we will come back to. We camped at Duck Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Burnidge Forest Preserve, Paul Wolff Campground, Elgin, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We are from this area & stay at this park every year while visiting friends. The sites are large & the grass is thick. The campground hosts are friendly & fair. There is no sewer but there is a dump station. There is no cable or WI Fi. 99.99 percent of the sites are satellite friendly & the Chicago are provides a wealth of over the air stations. There are plenty of shopping & restaurants in the area. There are no other real campgrounds in the area. So we are glad to have this one. Sites are on a first come first serve basis & you can only stay two weeks at a time. We camped at Burnidge Forest Preserve, Paul Wolff Campground in a Motorhome.

Fern Lake Campground, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here because our usual park was full. We were glad to get the space. It is a clean well kept park. The host was friendly. The park was quiet although it was next to a Pilots station & right off I 24. There was no grass at the sites up in the front where the overnighters go but plenty of grass around the area for the dogs. The longer term sites are well kept. The sites are full hookup but there is no cable & even in the front area it is hard to get satellite. If your satellite is portable or mounted on the front of your RV you have a chance of getting signal. If your satellite is mounted in the middle or rear of your RV the pine trees to the west of the park block the signal. Only a couple of stations were picked up with our on air antenna. The place is ok for an overnight stay or if satellite signal doesn't matter to you. We camped at Fern Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Nashville East / Lebanon KOA, Lebanon, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here to visit family in the area for more than half a dozen years. We started staying here when it was the Countryside Resort. We didn't stay last year though & noticed several changes for the better. Number one the chickens are gone. The camp always had chickens on a neighboring property but up until 2017 they generally stayed off the campground property. Campers started feeding them & they were encouraged to wander all over. It was a mess & a nuisance. Glad they are gone. The dog park has been improved. It is a nice place to let your dogs roam off leash now. The sites & roads have been graded with additional gravel. The pool is still nice. The staff is friendly. There were fresh Georgia peaches for sale in the office. One of the owner's sons does RV washing at your site. Certainly not a professional service but it served the purpose to remove the grime from the road. Some sites are satellite friendly. There is no cable but there are lots of over the air stations available. We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA in a Motorhome.

Forsyth KOA, Forsyth, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is our first time staying here but we will be back. We stayed in the Rally Center area which is satellite friendly. The office personel were friendly. We were guided to our site. They bring warm cookies to you after you have set up. Hunts Brothers Pizza is available all week. No extra charge for toppings & delivered to your site. This worked out well for us as we were only spending one night & did not detach our tow. Lots of grass & a good amount of space for each site in our area. Even the dreaded gnats of south Georgia were not bad here. We camped at Forsyth KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is right by our house. We use it frequently to test out repairs on the RV, to get the RV ready for our summer get aways or if we are having work done at the house & need to stay elsewhere. The campground hosts are friendly & helpful. There is a lot of space and plenty of grass at your site. There is no sewer but there are showers & a dump station. The park is gated after sundown but you are given a code to open it. No cable but the sites are satellite friendly. Sites are reasonably priced. The park is close by shopping & restaurants. Harvest Moon RV Park, Adairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before & will stay here again. Very nice park with a big dog walk area. Lots of grass at the sites, too. The laundry is complementary. No pool. Cable & Wi fi & our site was satellite friendly. Trash cans conveniently located. Park is quiet. Office is closed from noon until 1:00. There is a small service fee to pay with a credit card. Free popcorn in office. A special shout out to the lady that registered us. When I explained that although I loved popcorn I no longer eat it after breaking a tooth the last time I had it. She told me of a popcorn with no hulls & no kernels. I have tried it since & love it. We camped at Harvest Moon RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before & will stay here again. They have always been very accommodating. There is a very nice dog park, large with lots of nice grass. There is some grass by the sites but I must say nowhere near what there used to be in years past. There is a laundry & a very nice pool. Cable & Wi Fi & satellite friendly. Lots of restaurants & shopping in Paducah. Garbage pick up at the site (can provided for each site). We camped at Duck Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before in a pull thru site facing the lake. This time we were in a back in spot but they guided us in between the trees on the grass making it a pull thru. They explained the ground was dry so it wouldn't make ruts & since we were only staying over night we wouldn't have to unhook, easy in, easy out. We made this reservation the morning of our arrival & this water & electric spot was the last one in the park. Our RV needed repairs & we had to cut our vacation short & return to Florida for repairs. We appreciated them accommodating us & making things easier for us. Our site was satellite friendly, as was the site by the lake that we had before. There is no cable but several over the air stations are available. Garbage pick up at the site. There is a laundry. Lots of near by restaurants & shopping. We will stay here again. We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Des Moines West KOA, Adel, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice KOA. It is not right next to the Interstate so it is quiet. Satellite friendly with cable & Wi Fi. Very nice dog park & plenty of grass at your site as well. Nice playground for the kids & lots of activities. Laundry, too. Garbage pick up at the site; always a plus. Staff was friendly & accommodating. They let us move to the next site over which was more level. Our hydrolic pump was out & we could not put our jacks down to level our coach. They have added a big addition to the park as of a couple of years ago. We have always enjoyed staying here while visiting relatives. We camped at Des Moines West KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The good points- Pizza from Hunt's Brothers (no charge for toppings) delivered to your coach 7 days a week (very nice after a long day's drive). Chuckwagon open on weekend. A pool & playground. Cable & Wi Fi & a nice dog park. Satellite friendly. Friendly staff. Laundry & Recycling. Plenty of places to walk the dog. When we checked in the big vacant area across the way from our site was still available to use for the dogs, however, on our second day there they started digging for the 5 new sites they were putting in that space. So, I don't know how much of that area will still be available. Part of it is officially designated as a pet walk area. Bad points - The area we were in was very narrow. In order for us to park our neighbor had to bring in his awning. The sites have a picnic table but you can't use them if someone is parked next to you because you would be sitting under their slide. We had this problem when we stayed here 2 years ago. As a matter of fact at that time they asked us to put our slide in to accommodate the people who pulled in next to us. The next morning when we let our dogs out we could hear their toilet flush. I did hear that the new owners were looking to address the problem of the narrow sites. All in all we would stay there again if we are in the area because it is the nicest park in the area. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.
