Hitchin Post Corral and Campground, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Vonda is what you want from a park owner. We were unable to complete our stay at the Hitchin Post, and she was very gracious in cancelling our reservation, with no question and no cancellation fee. When we are passing through Cottondale again, we will surely give Vonda a call and stay at the Hitchin Post. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Motorhome.

Most of this park is devoted to long term residents. Very few available pull-thrus. This is a cash only park. Don't change your plans after paying as you will not receive a refund. We camped at TranQuil Garden RV Park in a Motorhome.

North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina, Little River, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

This is a new park, so you do give up the trees, but it is a beautiful and top shelf park. The pool area is large with a giant slide, very clean, connecting to a section with tables and chairs and covered bar area. Unfortunately, we arrived just ahead of Hurricane Michael, and could not enjoy the pool facilities, as it rained on us all three days, and the winds were very high. We have two large dogs, and I was concerned at first, about the walking area for them to explore, and found a wooded area, just across the fence, that you can access by the slide area. The dogs loved the chance to explore over there. Very long pull throughs, long enough for our 40'MH and pull vehicle. Wide spaces with cement pad from front to back and concrete patio with picnic table and fire ring. I wanted to stay another night to enjoy the facilities, but our schedule would not allow. I will visit there again, when in North Myrtle Beach. We camped at North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina in a Motorhome.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

The property is beautiful, with century old trees that offer a lot of character. Beautiful horses, and playful goats will keep you entertained. Our pets loved the space and the many sights to sniff out. The sun sets over most of the area that you want to explore, so I recommend that you take your walks in the morning because the setting sun is brutal. We found some trails that our lab loved. Off the beaten path, behind the waterspray pond. Our site was acceptable, but not what we expected, from such a large property. Sites are all back-in, facing toward empty field, in a big square, with exception of a couple sites, which overlook the pond, behind the square group. We backed into a row of trees, but we could not get back as far as we could, due to overhanging vines, that could have been cleared up, to give that site a little more back-up room. But overall, the site has plenty of space between others, and easy to get in and out of. Lots of sights to see in downtown Savannah. Very pretty town with lots of history. I would highly recommend this park for the long morning walks and beauty. Request one of the sites overlooking the pond and your stay will be perfect. We left Savannah a couple of days before Hurricane Michael hit land in the Panhandle, so hoping it does not damage any of this beautiful park in Savannah. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great spot for either overnighting, or spending a little time, to enjoy the casino (I was able to leave with some of their money). One minor thing to watch, the directions given was "turn in at the 2nd light". We counted the light that was located at the interstate, making the 2nd light, into the hotel. Did not know that until we turned into the lane, and it was not easy getting back out of the hotel. The next light down, which was the 3rd light (if you count the one at the interstate), was the correct spot and is marked with the RV sign. Pull thru was long enough for us to park with tow and had plenty of room. We will stay there again, on our way home. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.
