Mystic Springs Cove (Airstream ONLY), McDavid, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Mystic springs cove is an WBCCI club owned, airstream-only park located 25 mi. N of Pensacola, FL. 58 sites total, 50 with full hook-up. Some pull-through sites available. Open year round. Courtesy parking to all Airstream owners.

Sites are hard pack sand, well drained. A washer and dryer are available at the club house. Pets welcome, leashed and picked up after. Call ahead for weekends as Club members often sew up the sites. Weekdays have plenty of open sites, most of the time. We camped at Mystic Springs Cove (Airstream ONLY) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

A great place to relax and veg out. Or, do the Panhandle tourist thing while having a nice, quiet place to retreat to. Bring what you need. Groceries are limited and only beer, ice and soda available in McDavid. It's about 25 miles to Pensacola over rolling hills on US 29. Fishing in the Escambia can be challenging with lots of snags in the river. Beware the current after a rain event as it can be strong. plenty of hiking.

Pumpkin Patch RV Resort, Hermon, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

A reasonably quiet site, quality amenities for those visiting the tourist attractions, without having to put up with the tourists. A mix of long term workers and retirees with transients and tourists. Clean facilities, a great restaurant and a friendly staff. Some airport noise, but not intolerable. 30/50 Amp sites are properly wired. Good internet and wireless access (3-4 bars Verizon). CG internet was moderate speed and reliable. Not much going on this late in the season at the CG itself. We camped at Pumpkin Patch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This is my preferred park in the immediate area. Still close to the "city" of Bangor, yet has all the minor conveniences right in town. Plenty of restaurant choices in Bangor/Brewer in easy reach of the CG. Give the big truck stop, Dysart's, a try. Best pies in town. Just a 10 minute hop into the casino or the concert hall.
