Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Road in is about 4 miles and windy with no berm. It looks worse than it is. Found it was not really a problem. There were many big rigs in the camp. Wifi is very fast 15 up 12 down. FHU's on my site were a bit further away and I needed the extra water hose. Good Verizon signal. Sites level, gravel. Very scenic campground and well maintained. Small dog park, and they have a dog wash here. They have park cable. Usual KOA, pool, game room. Small restaurant on site, will deliver to your site. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had escort to site. With the amount of trees in the park satellite reception would not be expected. Very nice campground, would stay here again. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very well kept campground. Decent wifi 5 down 2 up with my Ranger. FHUs good no issues with EMS or water pressure. Good Verizon signal. Good cable line up. Sites small gravel and level. Usual KOA features, bounce pad, pool etc. Propane on site. Dump station on the way out. Staff was very friendly. Offered escort to site. Large store with many touristy items. Campground was only about half full. Very scenic campground with lots of trees and many hiking trails nearby. Site 142. Not much of a chance of Satellite here. Did not try OTA stations. Canandaigua / Rochester KOA, Farmington, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $83.00
Overall Rating:

Asked for satellite site, and most in this section are, but site 16 has a tree that could be a problem if you have a roof mount. Sites level, gravel. FHU's were more toward the front, less of a problem if you have mid hookups. rear hookups may need extensions. Though the site were really too small in this section 10-18 to have fire rings. Nice pond with paddle boats. Verizon two bars but worked. Wifi worked with coach wifi repeater. Was able to use portable satellite dish on site 16 in rear (to the front was the neighbor fire ring). Electric ok, no issues with EMS/water ok. Full timers in park friendly, well kept rigs. Lots of grassy areas for rover. This was an overnight stop. Thought the price was a bit on the high side for how close the sites were. Office personal were very nice on check in and offered escort to site. I might check out other parks in the area if I come through this way again. We camped at Canandaigua / Rochester KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Happy Acres Campground, Angola, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

It's a nice campground off of the freeway. Owners very friendly and accomodating. FHU's mid rear. Good water pressure. Roads gravel and easy to navigate. Long pull throughs for short term. The utilities are older, but passed my EMS. Verizon signal marginal, (1 to 2 bars) I used a cell booster that helped. Able to use wifi at my site with my skyranger4. Otherwise you may be able to use outside --- the wifi is in need of updating. Many sites satellite friendly. No cable. Did not try OTA, used sat. dish. Park is well kept. Small park store. Lots of large mowed grass areas for rover. Nice pool. Full timers in park, but sites well kept. We used as an overnight stop and would come back again. We camped at Happy Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Very large campground. All types of spaces, some larger than others, tent sites as well. Utilities can be confusing, my electric was behind and in neighbors space. Good pressure/current. No cable. Wifi slow - free, can buy upgrade to stream. Your signal may depend on where you are, some areas better than others. site 1125 near wifi and water. very wide site If you have a large unit you can park the car next to the camper. On site store, bike rental, pool etc. camp right on the lake, view of bridge. Found Verizon signal weak, used weboost, the signal varies with some area having a better signal its a large park. Many sites satellite friendly, ask when booking. Downtown about three miles they have a shuttle. No onsite laundry. No trash bins though park, no pick up, have to drive to front entrance to dump trash. They have an early arrival holding area and dump stations. Very efficient check in with many windows open. Found it fast and easy. Nice beach in campground with large grass areas to walk the dog. Will stay here again. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA, Allendale, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. When you come in, stop at the first stop sign and walk to the office. It may save you backing up if you are towing. It is possible to drive around the campground but you will be backing in on the hard side with 5th wheel or TT. Motorhomes makes no difference. Don't expect satellite reception here. Many many nice trees. Long deep lots, level. Verizon was only one to two bars but usable most of the time signal did vary through park. FHU good position. Good selection of TV cable channels. Found wifi usable, but slow (with this many trees it may depend on your site). Water pressure a bit low but OK. Escort to site, they gave help backing in. Lots of kids on weekends. Usual KOA pool and bounce pad and such. Saw fenced in pet areas but did not use. Office has wine, open til 9pm. No KOA signs to lead you to the park. Would stay here again. Mercer / Grove City KOA, Mercer, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Check the website or call campground on directions off the interstate. Your GPS may lead you on a very bad but doable road. Campsites gravel, level. Premium sites in the camp for upcharge. Both pull through and back in sites. Back in sites slanted and looked easy enough. Fire rings, picnic tables. 3 bar Verizon. Wifi varied. Sometimes very good, sometimes very slow. My wifiranger helped. Nice laundry 24 hours. Small pool but nice. Some sites sat friendly, but there is park cable and OTA stations. FHU's to rear. no issues with elect./water/sewer. Small camp store. My site 12 looked to be sat friendly but did not set up. Lots of things to do in the area. Walmart just a few minutes away. Many restaurants in area. I did ask for escort to site. Office personnel nice friendly. Saw a many big rigs in park. Some full time residents, but units well kept. Would stay here again. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Gaslight Campground, Emlenton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Rv park close to I-80. Many full time residents. But park was very quiet. Looks like they put new gravel into overnight sites. Wifi was pay. Did not give advertised speeds, but worked. Could not get any OTA stations. Used portable sat. dish. Good Verizon signal. FHU's to rear of site all ok. Most overnight sites are pull through, big enough not to unhook. Many of the overnight sites are sat. friendly, ask when you reserve. Did not use pool but it looked nice. CAT scale and truck stop just before campground. Staff was low key, but friendly. Not much of a camp store, a few odds and ends. Stayed a week here. Not much to do in the area, but found it a nice place to relax for a while. There are food stores close to the campground, and some restaurants. We camped at Gaslight Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Milton / Berlin Lake KOA, Lake Mllton, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Family campground. Lake with a beach. Lots of KOA things. Bingo etc. Verizon signal marginal but did work. No wifi, they say they are going to put it in. Seems like they are updating the campground. I was in 226 had road noise, did not bother me. Sat. friendly site. This section has no sewers. but electric and water good, rear of site. Older sites vary in size. Sites in new pull through section seemed more uniform. Dog fenced in area for rover. Staff friendly and helpful. There are full time RV here, but it is a family campground with lots of kids. There is no cable. There are OTA stations. Most people come to have fun and socialize. Thought is was just a bit expensive for not having park wide wifi or cable. On the other side there is plenty to do here for families. The camp seems to fill on summer weekends. We camped at Lake Milton / Berlin Lake KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here a week. Very nice campground. Satellite friendly sites and treed sites. Very good wifi. Park has cable. Sites level. Interior road easy for class A. Tent sites and cabins. FHU's in good order mid-rear of site. Sites are level, packed gravel, as are the roads. Good Verizon and T-Mobile signals. Park personnel very nice and efficient. Escort to site. Small well stocked camp store with food. Very quiet park. Far enough off interstate not to hear the noise, but easy to find. Good gas station with RV gas/diesel pump on road to campground. Many grass areas for rover. Nice pool and hot tub. Playground, horseshoes etc. Would consider reservations here. Rear sites are the longest. Good park for overnight. FHU's to the rear of the site. Power pedestals on some sites need upgrading, many do have new power pedestals. Sites and roads are packed gravel. Interior roads easy for class A. They were top dressing the sites when we were here, which was nice to see. Sites mostly level. Some RV's had to board. They do have ice cream socials here, which is nice. Good Verizon and T-Mobile signals. Park has cable. Wifi at our site was good. Most sites satellite friendly. (ours had a tree, but we were able to pull forward enough). Some sites only have 30 amp service. Good place off the freeway for an overnight stop. Did not notice any noise. The park started to fill around 4 pm. Gas station in front of park can be used by gassers (end pump). End spots have more grass. K-9 parks for rover. Would stay here for an overnight again.
