Bakersfield River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, clean, RV park with no road noise. We stopped here twice in Oct for one night each. We were in a back-in space which was easy to back into and there was plenty of room to park the truck after disconnecting. We didn't use any of the amenities (laundry, pool, showers, toilets, etc.). We came in after hours to see a list of available sites posted on their office door. We parked in a spot, came back to cross the spot off the list of available spots and did NOT register with the available drop in envelope. We visited the office first thing the next morning and were reassured 'no problem'. We stayed in an Orange orchard a few years ago, which was nice, but this place suited us better this trip. We'll stay here again. We camped at Bakersfield River Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kingman KOA, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty expensive for an overnight spot in the desert. The place was clean though, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They escort/guide you to your spot. Very quiet with no disturbances. We camped at Kingman KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stampede RV Park, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

There are 3 RV Parks in town and one outside of town. We circled one which was a joke if you wanted to try to stay, and drove through another which was tight and full. We then found Stampede. Our intention was to stay one night, look the town over (OK Coral) and move on.

The sites at Stampede are tight (we were in the center, do a Google Earth and see for yourself). There were no picnic tables that I saw, but Tombstone is the kind of place where you spend the day in town and eat lunch/dinner. There was so much to do and see in Tombstone, we stayed for 4 nights.

The first night, we arrived after dark, took a spot and paid the next morning. When I went to pay, the owner was in the kitchen (she serves breakfast for a good price). When she checked me in, I didn't get the usual here is your paperwork, no. What I got was a great review of what to see in town, where to get discounts, where the best everything is. Wow.

She also makes cinnamon rolls, which she was out of, but offered to make some for me which I would pick up later that day. Tombstone was way to interesting to come back for rolls, but when I went in the next morning to pay for another night, she had saved them for me. They were very good.

Anyway, the RV park is tight (no room for table where I was), the sewer gurgles when draining, the water was fine as was the power, the laundry was clean reasonably priced. No pool (didn't care). I was given the password for internet but used my own cause I forgot their password. We did receive several TV stations via antenna.

The RV Park is within walking distance of all the attractions in town and the Post Office to mail off all the postcards you bought. If you didn't want to walk, there is plenty of parking downtown. We camped at Stampede RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
