El Chorro Regional Park Campground, San Luis Obispo, California

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park in an area with a good winter climate. The regional park has golf, hiking trails, garden. SLO is 5 miles away for shopping, movies, etc. We camped at El Chorro Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Anthony Chabot Regional Park, Oakland, California

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here and used as base camp for day trips into SF. The park roads are tight, but ok if you take your time. The big issue I wanted to report for this park that may be a new rule: NO GENERATORS. That fact was a surprise and inconvenience. I chose a Dry campsite for 5 days without knowing... We'll have to use it sparingly ( temping fate ) as we can't go 5 days w/o some charge, esp. when we bring in the slideouts. Otherwise, we really like this place. We camped at Anthony Chabot Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Day trips into SF. BART station at base of the hill ( 5 miles away ). BART parking fills up on the weekdays. We're going to try this Saturday to see if it's better.

AA Royal Motel & Campground, North Tonawanda, New York

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This last minute pick looked OK from the rvparkreviews comments. Office staff was nice, but it's obvious this place is in the "take the money, but do nothing else" mode. Our site was very dirty with cigarette butts and dog poop all over. Bathroom must be on the "clean once a week or so" schedule. The WIFI was unusable, we could never connect. We camped at AA Royal Motel & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Louise F Cosca Regional Park, Clinton, Maryland

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Front office staff friendly. Recently remodeled/paved sites, although bathroom was a carryover from before the remodel. Many sites not level, and would be difficult for an RV to get level. Some sites were RV friendly, with a couple of pull-thru sites sprinkled in. Park was consistently patrolled by park police. We visited at the end of March, and the grounds were being cleared up in prep for spring / summer. The road in/out and the loop were tight. My biggest ding would be the men's bathroom, which is disintegrating along one wall due to a major water leak into the wall. I used the women's bathroom, as it had a recently remodeled shower. We used this as a low cost base of operations for a DC visit. We'd drive 5 miles to the Branch St station of the metro. We camped at Louise F Cosca Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park in all respects except for the WiFi. They use Tengointernet. This is the 3rd park where I've encountered this service, and it is as good as not having any internet. I'd use my T-mobile hotspot, but it doesn't have a good signal here. We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Shady Acres RV & Camping Park, Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Basic spot with concrete porch. RV rests on grass. Spaces tight, so getting in with all adjacent spots occupied was tough without getting people to move (which all the neighbors did, friendly). Patient assistance provided for parking. Park club house and pool seem upgraded, but the actual park needs some maintenance (electric drops and driveways). Road between 41 and park entrance is narrow and rough. Far enough off Hwy 41 to be quiet. Internet was free, but hung a lot and bandwidth was rocky. Rate reflects a Good Sam discount. We camped at Shady Acres RV & Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.
