Watkins Glen / Corning KOA, Watkins Glen, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with most of the positive comments on this page. My children didn't want to leave so at least they had a great time. They loved the playgrounds and pool. We were in one of the last pull through sites. Our site flooded very easily in the rain and we periodically had a strong sulfur odor in the area (seemed like it was coming from the cabins). I found the site to be very small, muddy, too close for campfires and no privacy. The bathrooms were soaking wet and very slippery from the use of the nearby showers. The indoor pool was a nice touch, it was very big and clean. However, I don't like the fact that they only have a camera watching the pool. Parents and children were breaking the rules so we didn't spend much time there. This was my first time at a KOA so maybe I am just accustomed to the state, county and private parks. Oh, if you are pulling a camper take exit 46, do not use map quest's directions. It may take you ten minutes out of the way but it is better than going up a very steep hill (route 14 off of 17) unless you have a very powerful truck. Overall the lake and Watkins Glen were absolutely beautiful, make sure you get to see the waterfalls too! We camped at Watkins Glen / Corning KOA in a Travel Trailer.
