Beautiful. Peaceful. Serene. Well-maintained. Lots of birds and waterfowl. Lots of greenery (in Nevada!!). Rate above reflects an average cost with Passport America. (Rates change based on site, weekend, etc). For the past 10 years we have arranged our North-South travel to pass through Pahrump, just to stay at this park, sometimes for up to 3 weeks! Why? Most sites are laid out at an angle, creating plenty of space between RV's. Lots of grass, sandy beach, a paved sidewalk around the "lake", (man-made, fishing, but no swimming). Amenities include heated swimming pool and hot tub, kayaks, pedal boats, fishing, playground, nine hole frisbee golf, and horseshoes. Relax on the sandy beach, have a bonfire... Office Staff are FABULOUS. Highly recommend. Our favourite RV park. We camped at Lakeside Casino & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
PS. ... there are bunnies and jack rabbits in the empty desert across the road, in case your 4-legged friend would love some quality sniffing and/or exercise. Our dog ADORES arriving in Pahrump!!
It's a fair distance to town but cycling is easy with no hills in Pahrump, just the wind.
Terrific golf course at Mountain Falls or, have fun at the small Executive course in town.
Have lunch and a tour at the "cathouse" at the end of Homestead.

We pulled in to Picketts very early one day to avoid the high winds. Welcoming greeting at the gate and guidance to park; friendly, efficient check-in with lots of information about next door restaurant, local groceries, etc. All gravel park with some shade, pull-through and back-in sites, all with full hook-ups.
We backed in at the back of the park; sites would be VERY close if the park had been full. As it was, it felt spacious and we had beautiful, large, rustling trees, a babbling creek and a peaceful view out the back window.
The Internet is strong, cable good. Laundry is immaculate as are restrooms --- complete with BATHTUBS!! There is a small book exchange available, too.
All in all, a lovely haven from the wind, friendly, helpful managers. We camped at Picketts RV Park (formerly Alamo RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We found this park 2 years ago after a breakdown on the highway and so happy we found it! Although Mountain Home was not our "normal" overnighting spot, we have stopped here going north and south for the past 2 years since finding this RV park. This is the most spacious park we have been in. Wide streets, every site is a pull-through, long, wide sites with a LARGE lawn, and small privacy fences to block the view of hookups. The wash rooms are FABULOUS: large, private, clean. In fact, all facilities are in tip-top shape, including well trimmed lawns. Only one minute from the interstate, but very quiet.
The only downside is our most recent visit had very poor Internet. It seems, from other reviews, an ongoing issue.
New owners this year have been expanding (beautifully) and a pool is now in the works.
The dog run is nice, but our mutt loves the so far undeveloped "back forty" with ground squirrels and lots of room to run! :-).
Bonus? A terrific Chinese restaurant next door and a good city-owned golf course only a few blocks away. We enjoy our stops in Mountain Home and at the friendly, warmly welcoming, very high quality Mountain Home RV Park. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
We like the local golf course. Beware: the newer back 9 has more challenges than the front 9.
Red Pavilion Restaurant right next door has good food and friendly, quick service.
The RV park's brochure lists several nearby attractions, a thoughtful addition - - - maybe we'll do more sightseeing next year!?
