Little Sand Point Campground DEC, Piseco, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This park, like all the New York State Dept of Environmental Conservation operated parks in the Adirondacks, is basic. It has simple, non-flush bathrooms and most importantly, no shower facility. If you want to shower you must travel fifteen minutes to the NY DEC park at Moffitt Beach. You can enter the park by showing your pass and use the shower. Keep in mind, it costs a quarter to turn on the shower. This park has no hook ups at all. It is simply an Adirondack mountain camping site. It is one of three NY DEC parks located on Piseco Lake, all of which are basically the same. These parks are the way I remember camping as a kid - carrying water, big campfires at night, cool evenings in almost total darkness. They are basic, but I personally love them. We camped at Little Sand Point Campground DEC in a Travel Trailer.
