Lakeside RV and Campground, Provo, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Management was helpful and courteous. Sites were easy to enter and exit. Park was VERY clean and quiet. Good exercise area for pets. Water pressure was good and with no chlorine taste. Rating would have been an 8 or 9 except for the trees were budding out and shedding small pods that were covered with tree sap which was VERY sticky. I have hundreds of them stuck to my roof and not having much luck removing them. I have progressed through soap & water, to WD-40, to mineral spirits, to lacquer thinner which will remove them with much scrubbing required. We camped at Lakeside RV and Campground in a Motorhome.

Golden Spike RV Park, Brigham City, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly courteous staff. Park is very clean. Sites are level. Rating would have been a 9 if there was a little more room between sites. Park is pretty quiet with some minor highway noise. Showers are super clean with private stalls. We camped at Golden Spike RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart is close. Phillips 66 fuel station is at the end of the block and is convenient for big rigs with competitive prices. If you don't want to eat at Maddox, the Firehouse Pizza has excellent Italian food and Frozen Udder (next door to Firehouse) has really good ice cream.

Twin Falls 93 RV Park, Filer, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

All hook-ups were close and easy to connect. Water had good pressure (use regulator) and clear with no aroma. Large pet area. Streaming WiFi available for a fee. Free Wi-Fi was fast enough for basic internet and email. Did not try to stream TV. Excellent Verizon Mi-Fi connection. Our site had quite a bit of slope causing the front wheels to lift off the ground when leveling. Highway 93 noise was noticeable during the day and evening. Seemed to quiet down at night. We had no over spray from the sprinklers on our coach. Don't expect to see water going over Shoshone Falls in the fall as they have the river diverted for irrigation purposes! Also Twin Falls only has water on the weekends after 1 September! Power dropped in the mornings when everyone had their electric heaters running. Otherwise it was stable with good voltage. We camped at Twin Falls 93 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Garrity RV Park, Nampa, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Park sign is obstructed by trees and we didn't see it until we had passed the entrance. Roads are dirt with minimal gravel as are sites. Not enough room to accommodate my 38' coach with my tow vehicle connected. Good steady power with no fluctuations or major low voltage situations. Sewer easy to reach and close to site. Many very old dilapidated RVs with some form of skirting attached. Lots of motorcycles and dogs also live here. Amazingly, the park was very quiet after dark. I was expecting major "partying" all night but it didn't happen on Friday or Saturday. The airport across the street cranked up around 6:00a.m. Water pressure was good (use a regulator) and water was clear with no aroma. The sites are very close together. Restrooms are closed for cleaning from 7:30-9:00a.m. For the money, this place is OK for an overnight or two if you only want basic hook-ups and nothing else. When departing go out the back exit adjacent to the airport. If you use the main entrance/exit there is no stop light and it could take a long time to enter the street. We camped at Garrity RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bains' RV Park, Oroville, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Owner is very friendly and the facilities were spotless. Spots are gravel but mostly level with a grassy area between spots. Full size washer and dryer were $2.00 each. You can not see the park from the highway and the signage is not the best. As soon as you cross the border start looking on your right for the sign. Turn right at the first asphalt road (Shirley) after the sign. This is a Passport America Park and is away from the road enough that you don't hear the traffic. Excellent water pressure, suggest using a pressure reduction device. Owner allowed me to wash my coach. He didn't charge any extra but we gave him our leftover Canadian currency. Good stable 118 VAC during our stay and we used most of our 50 amps at times. Hook-ups are located at the back of the site. We camped at Bains' RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bear Paw RV Park II (Adults only), Valdez, Alaska

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is the best park we have visited in Alaska. Small, quiet, out of the way, on the water, $1.50 for washer and dryers, very clean and spacious private showers, and good cable TV. We camped at Bear Paw RV Park II (Adults only) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fish the pond below the campground on the outgoing tide for silvers in late Aug and early Sep. If the seals are in the pond so are the silvers! Snagging limits can be caught in less than an hour while sight fishing!

Bayside RV Park, Valdez, Alaska

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

We were in a Class A RV. Hook-ups were close and easy to reach. Water was clean and tasted good. Cable TV was adequate. No power surges and good consistent voltage. Owner operated park with very friendly and helpful staff. The owner was raised in Valdez so he is a wealth of local information. Owner helped us get situated in our spot. We would stay at Bayside again. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tolsona Wilderness Campground , Glennallen, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed four nights in a 38' class A. Site was relatively level. Good stable 119VAC throughout our stay. Water tasted good but has a lot of tannin so it was brown. WiFi was free and good enough for email and downloading files but no streaming capability. Verizon MiFi worked very well but phone would only connect through WiFi calling. This is wilderness camping so don't drive down the gravel road if you are looking for 5 star entertainment! Supposed to be good grayling fishing in the creek. Dump station at the office is easy to access. NO highway noise day or night and very quiet day and night! Showers and restrooms were very clean and ample hot water was available. Top loading washing machine is $2.00 and dryers are $.50! This is a place to spend a day or two in a lounge chair watching the creek flow. After a couple months of seeing sights and driving it is nice to just unwind! We camped at Tolsona Wilderness Campground in a Motorhome.

Heritage RV Park, Homer, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

This park is close to a 10 rating when compared with other Alaska parks. Parking on the "fishing hole" is more expensive but it is really convenient to be able to stay in the warm/dry RV while waiting for the salmon to show. Plus even when not fishing watching the seals feed is entertaining! Silvers were in when we were there and "snagging" opened the day before we arrived. There were a lot of good fish snagged every day we were there. Office staff was very friendly. Individual shower rooms were very clean with plenty of hot water and good pressure. WiFi was marginal and we were next to office. Cable TV available but we didn't hook up. (To much other cool stuff to do and see!) We camped at Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cpt Patty's chowder and fish fettuccine are both outstanding! If you have a towed take the time to go high on the hill in town to get the overall view of Homer Spit. If it is a clear day the glaciers on the other side of the bay are very pretty. Little Mermaid has excellent rock fish and chips!

Northern-Moosed RV Park & Campground, Fox, Alaska

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is a family run park and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They provided numerous tips on great places to eat and things to see and do in the area. Water was not turned on to sites when we were here. Laundry was $2.00 per load and dryers were $1.00. Site was not very level but with wooden blocks we managed to level the RV. We camped at Northern-Moosed RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tanana Valley Campground and RV Park, Fairbanks, Alaska

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Tanana has really gone downhill since we stayed here in 2014. Showers and restrooms look like they haven't cleaned since then! We would not use either of them. Electric was unsatisfactory. When our power dropped to 106, I metered several other sites and the highest reading I found was 213 at the site next to the main drop from the overhead! Rather than risk damage to our electrical components we moved on. Lots of standing water throughout the sites and roads. Trees haven't been trimmed in a couple of years and have grown into the roads. The sites closest to the fairgrounds have tents occupied by homeless individuals that walk through the camp at various times of the day and night. There is very good shade and the park was quiet at night. We camped at Tanana Valley Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent electrical power. No drop at all throughout our stay. Park is very clean and well maintained. Still self service on the check-in. They don't get serious about manning the office until Victoria Day week-end. Water is clean and taste free. Definitely use a pressure reducing device. Wi-Fi was strong and consistent even back by the river. Spots 34-38 are pull through full service. We camped at Lee Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Custer State Park - Game Lodge Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

VERY quiet. Excellent shade that is trimmed back from roads and located next to the start of the animal loop. Accomodations for 40'+ class A coaches is limited but the sites that are large enough are very nice. Site #28 is beside a small brook and is the best spot in park with #27 being next. Access to sites is easy but all appear to be back in. Negatives are some sites are not very level and no sewer or water available. With sewer and water my rating would have been a 9/10.
