Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA, Streetsboro, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here in the past, but we will not return. Site 505 was not level. The 50 amp electric kept failing, so we had to use 30 amp. The road to the park was flooded, but the park did not tell us. We called to get new directions, but the park never returned our call. The first site we were offered was very unlevel. The second site had so much mud that the park should have closed it; we were told that nothing else was available. We left a day early, so the daily rate ended up being $62. We camped at Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA in a Motorhome.

Shipshewana Campground - South Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 15 days and received a weekly rate discount (1/2 off daily rate for 7th night). The site was back-in, gravel and level with FHU and 50 amp electric. There was a lot of rain during our stay and the site had standing water all around the pad. We had good Verizon voice/data reception. The park's free wifi was too slow. We had good DishTV satellite reception. The park charges $15 if you arrive before the 1:00 pm check in time, even if most of the sites are unoccupied. The office staff was less friendly and helpful then they were during our previous stays. The staff did not mow our site during our 15 day stay. Because of these issues, we did not enjoy our stay as much as we have in the past. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Wapakoneta KOA, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

KOA 10% discount for a one night stay. Site 13 is pull-through, level, gravel, with FHU and 50 amp electric. There is a large, low tree branch that should be avoided. We had good Verizon voice/data reception. We did not have DishTV satellite reception due to the trees, but the park did have satisfactory cable TV. We have stayed here several times and the park staff is always friendly. We would stay here again. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Daniel Boone National Forest (Twin Knobs Recreation Area), Morehead, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Senior discount for the site, but not for the electric hookup. Site was a paved back-in site that was level with 50 amp electric, but no water or sewer hookup. We had good Verizon voice/data reception. We had no DishTV satellite reception due to the trees. The park roads are very good, but there are many low branches to avoid. We would stay here again. We camped at Daniel Boone National Forest (Twin Knobs Recreation Area) in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Good Sam rate for a one night stay. The site was a pull-through and FHU with 50 amp electric. The pad was concrete and level, but required driving up a fairly steep incline before leveling out. We had good Verizon voice and data reception. We did not use the park WiFi. We had good DishTV satellite reception. The park is okay for an overnight stay, but it would be better if the owners removed some of the junk piles on the fringe of the park and asked a couple of the long term residents to clean up their sites. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Longwood Park - COE, Clarksville, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Interagency Senior Pass rate for one night. The site was a gravel back-in with 50 amp electric and water hook-up. The 50 amp circuit did not pass the surge protection, so we used the 30 amp circuit. The site was quite sloped, but we found a spot that was level enough for our one night stay. The site was waterfront, so that made up for the slope and 50 amp issues. The sites are large and well spaced. The park was quiet at night. We would stay here again. We camped at Longwood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

Cashie River Campground & Treehouses, Windsor, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 13 nights at $20.00 per night. The site was a long, pull-through, level, gravel site with FHU and 50 amps. All services worked well. The pull-through sites have a concrete patio with a grill. We had good Verizon voice and data reception and good DishTV reception on 2 of 3 satellites. The park is very quiet at night. There is a nice boardwalk and four "tree houses" along the Cashie River. The tree houses can be rented for overnight stays. Kayaks can be rented at the Roanoke River Center for $10.00 per day. We would stay here again. We camped at Cashie River Campground & Treehouses in a Motorhome.

Bass Lake RV Campground, Dillon, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The rate was with a Passport America discount for a one night stay. The site was long, grass, pull-through, and FHU with 50 amp electric. We had good Verizon voice and data reception. We had reception from 2 of 3 DishTV satellites. At the Passport America rate this was a good park for an overnight stay even though there was quite a bit of traffic noise from I95. We would stay here again. We camped at Bass Lake RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Good Sam discount rate for a 50 amp, FHU, pull-thru site. Hookup pedestal is very convenient. We stayed four nights. The park is easily accessed from I95 and has minimal traffic noise. The resort is well maintained, has paved roads, concrete parking pads, concrete picnic pads, and nice landscaping between sites. We had good DishTV satellite reception and good Verizon cell and internet reception. We did not use the park WiFi. We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV park is about a 45 minute drive to the Cumberland Island National Seashore visitor center and the ferry that transports you to the island. It was a wonderful day trip.

Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park), Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Rate was for Florida Senior Resident. Site was gravel/hardpack, pull through, FHU with 50 amp. Not all sites have sewer. There is a lot of space between sites. We had good Verizon cell and data reception. We had reception from 2 of 3 DishTV satellites, but only because we positioned the motorhome so the rooftop dish could peek through the trees. The campground was quiet at night. We stayed for three nights and would stay here again. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed the glass bottom boat tour. We also enjoyed renting kayaks (2 hours) and paddling the river. We spotted several of the resident Rhesus monkeys.

Interagency 50% discount rate for two nights. Site was a large, level, paved back-in site with on-site water and 50 amp service. Each site has a covered picnic table. A dump station is available in the park. We had good satellite reception and good Verizon cell and data reception. This is a very nice COE park that is convenient to Ft Myers. It is very quiet at night. We have stayed here several times and would stay here again. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.

Ortona South COE, Moore Haven, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Interagency 50% discount rate for one night. Site was a large, level, paved back-in site with on-site water and 50 amp service. A dump station is available in the park. We had good satellite reception and good Verizon cell and data reception. Located on the Caloosahatchee River, this is a very relaxing and quiet location. Encountered many love bugs on today's trip; fortunately the park allowed us to wash them off. This is our fourth visit and we would stay here again. Ignore GPS directions to Goodno Road (not a road); turn on Dalton Lane. We camped at Ortona South COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Good Sam discount for a two night stay. The site was pull-thru, level, gravel, with FHU and 50 amp electric. The sites are basic, but the price is lower than others in the St. Augustine area. We had good Verizon voice and data reception and good DishTV reception. We have stayed here several times as we passed through the area. We camped at Stagecoach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Rate includes a KOA discount for one night. The site was gravel, pull-thru, FHU and 50 amp. The parking pad was level, but the picnic table area was not level. The park office area was nice and the staff was friendly. The sites are quite basic and close together. The free cookies were a nice surprise. This park was okay for one night. Red Bay RV Park, Red Bay, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Daily rate was $25; the weekly rate was $125. Our stay was 17 nights so the average rate was $20 per night. The sites are gravel, level, and FHU with 50 amp electric. We stayed here to avoid the activity, noise and dirt of the Tiffin Service Center Campground. The Red Bay RV Park is one of several basic parks in Red Bay. This is a self-service park, but the owner drives through the park several times a day. We would stay here again. We camped at Red Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.
