Big Buck Resort, Hornsby, Tennessee

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $5.00
Overall Rating:

Rode thru this so called resort just to check it out. The place is totally run down and appears abandonded. Tall grass at all sites and a bunch of old and undated for camping trailers. This place obviously was a big success at one time, but it is no longer. Very sad to see such terrible conditions Owners need to sink hundreds of thousands of dollars to get this place back to a 2* rating. We camped at Big Buck Resort in a Motorhome.

George P Cossar State Park, Oakland, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

One of a few MS State Parks with full hook-ups within 1.5 hour drive from Memphis! Peaceful, quiet and situated on beautiful Enid reservoir. Deer and other wildlife are abundant. Bathhouse is due for a fresh-up and they are clean. Flushable toilets and hot water showers. We camped at George P Cossar State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Yacona Ridge campground is on the water, stay here! Jones Creek campground is not on the water and is not as well kept as Yacona CG. Plenty of room for motorhomes, 5th wheels and travel trailers.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in one of the sites atop the hill and truly enjoyed the deck along with its' swing and patio chair set. The restroom and laundry atop the hill are literally brand new and spotless! The laundry machines are all digital and the room has a bill changer for added convenience. The entire campground is beautifully landscaped and well kept! The staff was extremely nice and helpful and even brought firewood up to our site. The entry gate requires a 4 digit number to get in and it makes the entire campground off limits unless you are registered guests. We are already planning a return trip for next fall! You will love this place guaranteed! We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sites 35 & 36 are nice, but the power lines do obstruct view! If the view is important select 33 or 34. Sites 27 thru 32 are pull thru's but don't have the deck and swings. Best tip is to reserve EARLY as they are already booking heavily for Fall of 2017.
