Happy Trails RV Park LLC, Moriarty, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I don't understand the high ratings for this park. It's basically a parking lot. The roads are dirt and potholed. The spaces are very close. We had no one next to us, but if we had we wouldn't have been able to extend our awning. The new owner has supposedly spent a lot of money to "modernize" the park. I don't know who redesigned the park, but they never stayed in an RV park. The hookups were in the middle of the site so that no matter where your connections are, they are a long way away. The saving grace was the manager. He was very helpful and did everything possible to make our stay tolerable. As a previous reviewer said, this is a $25 park. We camped at Happy Trails RV Park LLC in a Travel Trailer.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This basically a large parking lot. It was formerly a mobile home park and there are some nice trees. The pull throughs [I think all are pull throughs] are very long and the streets are very wide. Everything works well--utilities, wifi, phone, and the staff is helpful and friendly. It's an excellent park for exploring the petrified forest. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Richfield KOA, Richfield, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here because of snow in the passes on I70. The spaces are almost all pull through with lots of trees. Site was level, we didn't have to unhook. The staff was super friendly. All in all, and excellent rv park. We camped at Richfield KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park, Springdale, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very ordinary campground--tight spaces, tight turns, non existent wifi. That's the bad part. The good part--fabulous scenery, walking distance from park entrance, and Zion Brewery close to park entrance. We camped at Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Great park! Close to everything you want to see. Good lake views. Spaces are large with lots of room between spaces. Our WiFi worked well which was good as our Sprint phone was non existent. Don’t follow your gps. Go to mile marker 554 for easy access. We camped at Page Lake Powell Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Justin's Diamond J RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park would get five stars even without the hiking trails, but with them it gets six stars. You can walk behind the park for miles— much of it in Tucson Mountain Park. It’s better than Saguaro NP or the Senora Museum—and you have it all to yourself. The spaces are huge ( they advertise no space smaller than 2000 sq ft), level and the roads paved and wide. There are trees planted between each space. The WiFi was good, but slowed down in the evening. Phone service was good as well. All in all, this is a well cared for park that was a delight. We camped at Justin's Diamond J RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stampede RV Park, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Very tight park. We could not extend our awning and were barely able to extend our slide out. The distance between campers was little more than a chair's width. The Wifi worked sometimes but mostly not, and we were close to the office. Sprint service worked for phone, but not for anything else. The advantage--it is within easy distance of town. You never need to use your car. The owners and staff are very friendly and there is a cafe on site that serves an excellent breakfast. We cut our visit short because of our inability to use the internet. We camped at Stampede RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very good park with lots of trees planted by the owner. However, most of the trees go to the seasonals. The owner is very friendly and helpful. All the services worked well. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very well run park. It was spotlessly clean, grass and gardens trimmed and no trash at all. We were in a site close to the highway, but while the noise was there, it wasn't a problem. They are usually completely full on weekends in August. The shuttle service is priceless. They take you to the ferry at 0900 and pick you up at 1630. It's about a 20 minute ride. The ferry drops you off in old town Quebec. The staff is friendly and helpful and the wifi is great. There is a small pizza place on site. All in all, one of the better RV parks we have stayed in. We camped at Camping Transit in a Travel Trailer.

Mile-Away Campground, Henniker, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Probably the worst campground I've encountered. When I saw the site for our 22' TT, it looked like a place to park your tow vehicle. I wanted to change, but the only open site I saw was a pull through that was total mud. We were in a section on the map marked for transients, but they all looked seasonal to me. There was mud everywhere--on the roads, at the sites. Our site had no surface, but there were some spots that weren't mud so we decided to stick with it. You had better be damn good at trailer backing, as out site was as tight as I've ever seen. When the trailer was in, the hitch was almost in the road. Everything was in disrepair. However, the utilities, including wifi, worked well. They said they were Good Sam, and gave us the discount [and it cost 40.50], but I didn't seen any GS logos around. Unless you're really desperate, skip this one. We camped at Mile-Away Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The Ridge NY Recreation & Camping (formerly Frost Ridge Campground), Le Roy, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Interesting park. Our site was inside a circular road. It was very not level and no surface, only grass. There were many, many sites there--unoccupied. I think we were the only transients. The rest were seasonals. The services were good, even the wifi. But be aware, there is a large stage by the office where they evidently have concerts, so I guess that is when they utilize all the sites. You might want to ask about the concerts if you don't want to listen to bad music all night. Our site was water and power only, so maybe the full service sites are better. We camped at The Ridge NY Recreation & Camping (formerly Frost Ridge Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Cardinal Center Campground, Marengo, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a bizarre RV park. It is operated by a skeet shooting organization and I guess it is set up for big shooting events. They don't seem particularly interested in having RV guests. The office closes at 4 and there is no after hours number. We were told there would be a receipt and map left at the office door--there wasn't. Fortunately, the previous review had suggested pulling up a map from the internet, so we knew where our site was. The woman I talked to on the phone knew nothing about the park, wifi, cable, etc--probably never spent a night in an RV. Our site was level, but the hookups [we didn't have sewer] were at the front of the back-in. Fortunately, we had extensions and garden hoses to reach. Without them, we would have had a problem. Wifi was great. This place is huge!! There are hundreds of camp sites and cabins. When we were there, we saw only two people. The place was deserted. That was a plus for us. We backed up to a stocked lake and enjoyed our stay. We were there on a Monday. I understand the skeet range opens on Tuesday. So, all in all, it was great for us. Just be aware of its eccentricities. I have no idea why they don't try to develop it. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice, well maintained park with lots of trees. The sites, we've stayed here before, are very level. We didn't have to unhitch. There is even a pub open from 3-10. Great wifi and telephone. Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent campground. Easy on/off from the freeway, level spots and close to town. The staff was friendly. We had no trouble with road noise and the wifi was excellent. What I liked were the huge, ancient trees throughout the park. Please stay at this park to keep the trees from being cut down. This is in a commercial area and, if the property isn't profitable, someone like Hilton is going to come in, cut down the trees and, in Joni Mitchell's words, put up a parking lot. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
