The Ridge NY Recreation & Camping (formerly Frost Ridge Campground), Le Roy, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Because of the 'concert' we had no interest in, the rate for our week here was VERY over priced. The map shows a mini-golf course; it hasn't been there for years. The G section of the map is on the steepest hill we ever camped on--awful. The pool was never cleaned. Some creepy employee kept hanging around the women's room every time our neighbor's 12 year old niece went to take a shower! I have seen much nicer playgrounds in people's yards. There were no activities except: a bounce house that seemed randomly put up on no schedule, a fun wagon ride one of the nights for the kids, and a day water gun wagon ride. Won't stay here ever again. We camped at The Ridge NY Recreation & Camping (formerly Frost Ridge Campground) in a Motorhome.

Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort, Bath, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Of the three pools, we only visited the kids pool in the front with the spray ground. The kids loved it but the internet and pamphlets state the pools are open until 8pm. They closed it at 7pm! If we had known in advance, we would have arranged our schedule so the kids had more than 5 minutes to swim. The water was extremely dirty and cloudy all weekend. Kids enjoyed the full basketball court, dogs enjoyed the dog park, nice playgrounds, too! Great crafts and activities over the weekend. I loved they had 80 lbs and under/over times for the bounce pillow (bring socks!) We camped at Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Kinzua East KOA, Bradford, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

I never doubted a KOA until we visited this site. The Olympic sized pool that was suppose to open on Memorial Day weekend was still closed the Tuesday after Memorial Day and is a Vry small pool- no where near Olympic sized. The half basketball court had a lot of cracks and weeds. The playground was two very small young child oriented area with a swing inches from the fireman's pole (dangerously too close). Both of them shook when kids were swing. Older gentleman had no idea what movie they were playing, no activity list at all (verbal or written) anywhere. We go to the movie and free cotton candy and it is Frozen in a 'garage' with the sun glaring across an old 32 inch TV. The second night we were heading to playground and heard a movie playing, we didn't even know about it. They 'ran out' of cotton candy! Want to discuss unhappy campers? We headed to the game room. Had to ask for them to turn the power to all the games on. I was helping my daughter (6 yrs old) with her quarters and the machine took one of her quarters and the woman behind the cash register told my daughter "that is what happens sometimes"! Bad customer service! She won two stuffed animals and they were dirty and had stains on them- ewww! Very clean game room and laundry facilities. The dog park is an island of grass with a doggie dump. Boring and disappointing first camp of the year! We camped at Kinzua East KOA in a Motorhome.
