Springville / Provo KOA, Springville, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff at front desk, but this place just confirms why I don't stay in KOA's. Tight, tight, tight. Lots of "homesteaders" along the back row. Washing machines were filthy, and when I brought it to their attention, they passed if off to the machine company. Sprinklers (for a 2 foot patch of grass??) leave hard water spots on your coach. Just awful. The asphalt has numerous frost heaves - tough to get level. Like I usually say, KOA= "Kids are Obnoxious & Annoying!" But in this case, it wasn't the kids!! We camped at Springville / Provo KOA in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone River RV Park and Campground, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

What a rip off! $80/night with discount, and packed in like sardines on gravel sites. Thank goodness I was traveling with family as our awnings were toe to toe. WiFi is non-existent. My site was a mud hole as they had just watered the "grass" of which there is only about a 2 foot strip between opposing sites. Folks across the way were directed to enter their site per the park map, but they were totally backward; they had to buy extra hose in order to reach the spigot. Just awful. Never again. We camped at Yellowstone River RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights en route to San Antonio. Absolutely nothing to do in the area, but Ingram is less than an hour's drive. Nice level spacious site, great Wifi, cable, friendly staff, and it was nice being on the river. I would stay here again if passing thru. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Drive to Ingram and see Stonehenge II, eat right there at the Hill Country Arts Foundation (Encore), and shop at the Ingram Loop. If you have time, the Y.O. Ranch in Mountain Home offers tours of their property ($$) so you can see all their exotic animals.

Blue Ox RV Park, Albany, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stay away!! First, they changed my RV site upon arrival. No big deal, But 3 days before my departure, the office tried to get me to move to another site for one day because they "forgot" to change my site reservation in their computer and had a double booking. And this is my problem??? The young millennial in the office was rude and told me that I was copping an attitude because I said no! Really? But wait, there is more! The day I got here, there was ongoing renovation at the pool with signs saying pool closed and a big garbage container out front. Renovation stopped the next day; haven't seen any work done in over a week, but the container is now wreaking of garbage. Oh - and the pool can be used! Apparently the signs around the pool read very differently! You will pay more for 2 weeks here than the monthly rate. Lots of homesteaders here and no leadership regarding keeping sites looking nice. The park looks very unkempt. Some folks have cable, some do not - same price. WiFi?? NONE, but don't ask about it. You will be referred to "corporate" and then told that they have no control over it. Welcome to the world of "It's not my job," It's not my problem," and "I don't care." Very disappointed. I will NEVER come back to this park. PS: I could not put my awning out because of a tree in the way, It provided some shade, but I wish I could have put my awning out. We camped at Blue Ox RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bend-Sunriver RV Campground - Thousand Trails, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Don't come here if: 1. You want to be closer than 25 miles from Bend. 2. You hate dust, dirt, and pine sap on your coach. 3. You need Internet. 4. You need full hookups. 5. You watch TV. This is woodsy camping. No frills. Just dirt, dirt, and more dirt. I should have researched it much better. Unfortunately there are few options in the Bend area. Apparently they don't like RVs here. Very disappointed. We camped at Bend-Sunriver RV Campground - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Redwood Meadows RV Resort (formerly Hiouchi RV Resort), Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Very disappointed , and it wasn't worth the cost. Great location, close to Redwoods, Smith River, Crescent City, etc. But the park is in shambles. All the dumpsters were overflowing with garbage, the laundry room is filthy, some RV sites (occupied) were very unsightly with lots of junk, bikes, motorcycles, kids toys, etc., scattered everywhere. There were 3 RVs in our party, and when we made the reservations, we had asked for sites close together. We even called the night prior to our arrival to confirm, and we were reassured that our sites were next to one another. When we arrived, this was not the case, and we were given all kinds of excuses. Not a big deal, but another example of poor management. Apparently it is for sale again, after just one year of current ownership. Hope someone with some sense buys it!! We camped at Redwood Meadows RV Resort (formerly Hiouchi RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Shady Lane RV Camp, Barstow, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Old, run down, and in the middle of nowhere. But in a pinch, this park is okay for an overnight. The "mature" owner is behind the times. Cash or check only. Does give a Good Sam & military discount. If you need WiFi, you need to pay $5/day on-line to the local service. He also charges extra for 50 amp. This park is too expensive for what you get. (But then again, it is California!) The best thing about this park is that it is dead silent. I did get a great night's sleep. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Motorhome.

South Park Mobile Home Park (55+ park), Englewood, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I am spending the winter here. This is the (only) closest RV park to Denver that allows long term stay. There are 20+ regular RV sites for <2 week stays w/WiFi/full hook-up. The long term RV sites are converted mobile home slabs. Water and sewer hook-ups are under your rig and some of the sites are difficult to get into as they are nestled between mobile homes. My site is very nice, but it took time to carefully get in and hook up. The price is right, the park is quiet (sans kids and dogs,)has a beautiful pool, but the park expects you to water and mow the grass on your site. They provide rotary mowers, but no sprinklers. The clubhouse is dated, but a nice place to hang out and meet the neighbors. We camped at South Park Mobile Home Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
