Moabi Regional Park, Needles, California

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

To start with, the rate was a 3 nite special they were running through the month of Oct. I absolutely loved this place. Right along the river with your own private beach, there were 3 other places on the point I was on but no one the whole time I was there. Closest person was about 300 yards away. Power and electric and sewer were all fine. No doubt, I stayed here because of it's location on the river. I'm coming back for the month of December, good monthly rate including electric. I can't say about any of the amenities because I didn't use them. For a dog lover, this was great, she got to swim and play in the water all day long, clear water, you could see down about 6-8 feet. If it had wifi and cable, I would have given it an 11, instead I have to give it a 10 We camped at Moabi Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bailey's Hot Springs, Beatty, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Older and cramped sites. After arriving and paying, the guy said to take whatever site I wanted. I checked the service at one of the few left and the 30 amp power pole was falling over and had a ground fault so I moved to another one. Pole was falling over but it did have power. After the last two rigs pulled in I realized that I was going to have to back out of my site in the morning there was no way to continue forward so I can't really say they are true "pull-thru sites". They said they had wifi but it was so slow that it took almost 5 minutes to get my email, surfing I wouldn't recommend. The hot springs were OK but small rundown buildings with no lights inside so if you went in them after dark, you were in the dark completely. The bathroom was not well kept and the laundry area was filthy, clothes laying all over the place and I think the clothes that were hanging out of the dryer when I got there, were still there the next morning. I would not stay here again. They just built a new one on the other side of town that I would stay at next time. We camped at Bailey's Hot Springs in a Motorhome.

Whiskey Flats RV Park, Hawthorne, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Pet friendly, yes, but don't take your dog on the grass? Strangest thing I have seen. You can run them on the gravel, the sand, the rocks, but keep them off the grass. Good services including Wifi, cable, clean and spacious showers. The Host was very accommodating to any questions. I would certainly stay here again. Being a dog owner, I had to drop it to an 8 otherwise it would have been a 9. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Days End RV Park, Standish, California

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Ditto to what everyone else said. Great Wifi, he just spent a ton of money on the system and it's really good. Nice dog area that is fenced in with utensils to pick up and deposit. Long but narrow sites, other than that, the owner is wonderful. I would stay here again, rate is with PPA discount. If the sites had been about 5-10 feet wider, it would get 10's all around. It also had a large laundry that was cleaned every day which was really nice. Well kept park, you can tell that the owner does indeed take a lot of pride in it. Stay here if in the area, nicest one around and can't beat the price. We camped at Days End RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I didn't think quite as highly of the park as others. The WiFi was not good at all, I was constantly kicked off. The cable was OK but a bit sketchy at times. The sites were very small. I asked for a back in site which was on the perimeter so I could have easy access to the dog runs, I got a site on the end of an island in the middle with about a 4 x 5 area of grass, very small sites. On the up side, the bathrooms and showers were spotless and a very very friendly staff. The noise from I-5 was pretty loud all the time, even through the evening. There are a lot of permanents, but as others have said, all nice and well maintained. I would have rated higher except for the noise, WiFi ( or lack of) and site size. Lassen RV Resort (Lassen Pines RV Resort), McArthur, California

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Great place. As stated earlier, the new owners are giving it a complete face lift. Huge sites, I believe they are spread out over about 26 acres, the closest site to me was about 50 yards away. Some have stated that there is cable and WiFi but there is no cable and the WiFi is at the office. You can sit out on the porch and get it just fine. I will absolutely stay here again. The owner is a great guy and wants to do whatever he can to please you. I had a bad tire on my trailer and he gave me great advice on where to go for repairs, stopped back later to make sure that I got it taken care of, and even offered me a beer. I don't drink, but the gesture was appreciated. We camped at Lassen RV Resort (Lassen Pines RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Home RV Park, Mountain Home, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

As the previous writer has it, everything was top notch about this park. The only complaint I have is there was no Wi-Fi service unless you go to the office area, not a huge deal but the only reason I am not going up to a 10 in my rating. Great staff, great grounds, and there is a lot to do in the area. Would highly recommend it and will certainly stay again if in the area. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Highline Trail RV Park, Boulder, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. The sites are huge, you can pull into most of them from either direction and many have hookups on both sides. The site I stayed in was big enough that I could almost put my 26' TT sideways so I had great views of the mountains. Laundry has 2 washers and 2 dryers, they are only $1.00 per load. I found the Wi-Fi to work pretty well, I didn't try to stream any Netflix but could surf pretty well. Large open space throughout the grounds so it's great if you have a dog. I was originally put in a site that was next to a family with some kids who were really loud and driving around on an electric car so I asked if I could move to another site, the camp host said "have at it", not a problem. Nice camp hosts, they gave me directions to Boulder lake so I could let the dog swim. I would certainly stay here again. Bathrooms and showers were both really clean. Deer Haven RV Park, Saratoga, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I looked at the website to pick my reservation site. When I arrived, it had been taken, which was just as well because it was in between a couple of mobile homes. There are quite a few permanent residents and many of them are up at 6:00 AM firing up their diesels and heading off to work. There were a couple of people doing engine work on their trucks. From the site, you would think that the "waterfront" sites would be the best but they are pretty close together. The Wi-Fi worked pretty well, not strong enough to stream a movie but good for surfing. The cable TV was very good. Good and easy hookups, I may stay out at Saratoga Lake if I return instead. The highlight was the Sulfur Hot Springs that were right in town, and free, certainly go there if you are in the area. We camped at Deer Haven RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Crawford Creek Recreational Area, Battle Creek, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Nice county park. Most of the sites have a view of the lake. Nice long trail that goes around the whole lake, take some water, it's quite a hike. My dog kicked up about 40 pheasants on our walk. There are sites with electric only on the top level and electric and water on the lower level as well as tent sites. There was a camp host trailer there but no host was around. Nice swimming beach. The main highway between Ida Grove and Battle Creek was closed so I had to drive around to find the best way to the campground. Would definitely stay here again.
