Clay County Fairgrounds, Green Cove Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with the previous review. Only back in sites but sites are level and clean. Very basic park with no picnic tables or fire pits. There are showers but we did not use them. No wifi but satellite worked well as did Verizon cell service. Very quiet park with no trains or highway noise. 10 minutes to Green Cove Springs and about 25 miles to Jacksonville. We would stay here again. We camped at Clay County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Southern Trails Resort, Unadilla, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of the worst RV parks we have ever stayed in and it's sad because we are Coast To Coast members and this is our home park. The bugs were terrible, the grass was not cut for a long time (which I feel contributed to the bugs around our coach.) The power was OK as was the water but the sewer connection was an open pipe without a cover. Lots of ants and flying bugs. If you want a 50 amp site you must stay on the upper lot which is very close to the interstate and that does not include the trains which went by all night. Fortunately for us it was so hot we had the windows closed all night and the AC left on. This definitely helped with the noise. If you want to leave windows open I suggest the lower lot which is only 30 amp power. We obviously will not be staying here again. We camped at Southern Trails Resort in a Motorhome.

Cherokee Campground, Blacksburg, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park with only 36 sites and mostly back in. They are adding 6-9 new pull through sites. We only stayed in the park one night but would have stayed longer except the park was full and I understand why. Good wifi, 100 channel cable, good electric and water, and a friendly helpful staff. Many sites surrounded by trees but our site #7 was a pull through with only a few trees and a beautiful view of sunset. Quiet park also however I did a few trains but they were far enough away to not bother us. They accept Passport America. We camped at Cherokee Campground in a Motorhome.

Cane Creek Park, Waxhaw, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice clean park and very quiet. I agree with the 2 previous reviews. Sites are nice although they do slope front to back but I had no problem getting my motorhome level. The check in was simple and the park rangers were very nice and helpful. All hookups worked good. No wifi and not much chance to get satellite due to trees but there are numerous over the air channels. Do not follow your GPS as our took us 20 minutes out of our way. We would return to this park. We camped at Cane Creek Park in a Motorhome.

Cool Breeze Campground , Galax, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice quiet park. Our site was level and sites are spaced well. Hookups were good. Owner was friendly and helpful. No pool, picnic tables or fire rings. Well maintained park convenient to Galax. My Verizon and Directv worked good. Wifi also worked well. I would have rated this park a 10 except for the lack of a pool or picnic table. We were here in a motorhome and would stay here again. We camped at Cool Breeze Campground in a Motorhome.

Sycamore Lodge, Jackson Springs, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park. No sewer hookups but dump stations are convenient and they do have a "honey" wagon that comes around 3 times a week. The cost is $7.00 unless you stay a week and then you get use of the honey wagon once for free. Sites are clean and level. A little close to others but not bad. Water and electric were fine. Wifi worked fairly well although it was down quite often either due to too many users or some other issue. Verizon worked well as did Directv. Staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are a little bumpy but not as bad as many we've seen. Southern Pines/Aberdeen were a 20 minute drive but there is plenty of shopping there. We stayed here in a motorhome. We camped at Sycamore Lodge in a Motorhome.

Mayberry Campground, Mount Airy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful park. Very convenient to Mt. Airy and route 74 & 77. Easy ride to many wineries and some breweries. Convenient to Pilot Mountain and Elkin. Only about 30 minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway near the NC/VA border. Also a nice ride. All hookups at this park worked well. Back in site was fine for our 37' motorhome and tow vehicle. Roads are fine and site was level. Verizon and Directv worked well as did the park wifi. Wifi worked well even over July 4th weekend when park was full. Cable has many channels and worked OK. Staff is very helpful and they had a free hot dog cookout on July 4th with all the fixin's. Very quiet and clean park. We will return. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Visit the Mt. Airy Visitor Center and get info about all the "Mayberry" sites. The visitor center also has a flyer they produce weekly to let you know what is going on in the area. This was very helpful for us to plan our stay. Pilot Mountain is very nice and there are numerous wineries in the local area.

Lazy Llama Campground, Chuckey, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park with very nice owners. Wifi worked most of the time at our site. Park is quiet but we did hear a train early in the morning but nothing during the night to wake us. No luck with Directv but there are 15 over the air stations. Park is clean and the owners are working hard to upgrade and add sites and facilities. New laundry room and shower/restroom area should be open soon. Sites are good size. Getting our motorhome level at our site was difficult. Some sites look big enough for big rigs. We would stay here again. We camped at Lazy Llama Campground in a Motorhome.

Grandma's RV Camping, Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is convenient for visiting Louisville, Bernheim Arboretum, some distilleries, and some wineries. The park is small but clean and sites are level. Wifi is typical campground wifi. Sometimes you can get on and sometimes you get thrown off. FHU worked well with no issues. Very busy park so we recommend calling ahead. Some road noise from the highway (Rt 65) but not real bad. Owners are nice and park is well maintained. We stayed here in a motorhome and would stay again. We camped at Grandma's RV Camping in a Motorhome.

We think the Bernheim Arboretum is a must see. We had not heard about this plus prior to coming to the area but it was wonderful. The Jim Beam distillery was very nice also. Churchill Downs was great and they do a great job of explaining the history there plus with general admission you can see a wonderful movie and do a walking tour of the facility.

Tween the Lakes Campground (formerly Exit 31 RV Park), Grand Rivers, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with previous comments. This is a good park to stay to visit the Land Between The Lakes, Paducah, Calvert City area. No showers, laundry, or office on site but there is an on site manager. Park is quiet, utilities work well, Directv works good as does Verizon. The wifi here is a little slow but works OK for email and FB. Nice picnic table, fire pit, and cement pads. We would stay here again. We were traveling in a motorhome. We camped at Tween the Lakes Campground (formerly Exit 31 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We recommend visiting Paducah and the National Quilt Museum, water front, and Farmer's Market. If you go to the Quilt Museum area do not miss the Paducah Brew Werks for a locally brewed beer and some good food. We also recommend the Artisan Kitchen if you want a good lunch.

Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage, Saint George, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park. Convenient to route 95 (5 miles away). Except for the nearby train this is a quiet park. I did not hear the train but my wife did a few times. The park is clean with only a few sites that looked like permanent campers/workers. We had a fairly new site so all utilities were very good. Wifi is at the office and not usable at our site but we were about as far away from the office as possible. Our site was new gravel and other coaches were close by but the older sites had more room and were grass and dirt with some shade. The office staff was friendly and we were escorted to our site. We stayed here in a motorhome and would stay here again. We camped at Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were small. Our site was full hook up on an old concrete pad but was level and all utilities worked well. Wifi worked well. Easy on and off route 95. Convenient to fast food. Quiet park while we were there. Office staff was very pleasant. Due to the price I'm not sure we would stay here again. We camped at St. John's RV Park in a Motorhome.

The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 4th stop here and we find this a very nice park. The office staff was very friendly. Sites are level with space between each and many have gazebos between them. All hookups worked well. The wifi worked OK, but did get slow when the park is busy. The park was very quiet although we did hear a train during the night, but it was not real close and we did have all our windows open. Interior roads are in good condition and easy to navigate. The pool was very clean and well maintained. Trash is picked up at our site every morning. They also allow coach washing. Directv and Verizon also work well here. We camped at The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads in a Motorhome.

Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA, Clarksboro, New Jersey

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

I did not find our site to be small like other reviews. Our pull through site was plenty long enough with plenty of room on both sides and it was easy to get level. Park roads were good and we were escorted to our site. Power was good as was the water. My only issue with this park was the price. $63 for a site with no wifi, unless I walked to the office, is a bit pricey for us. This is our 3 time at this park and it will be our last due to pricing. I'll find another park or another route in the future. We camped at Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA in a Motorhome.

Sherwood Forest Campsite & Cabins, New Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We did not actually stay at this park because it was full but we did drive through and talk to the office staff. A small park with 2 way sites. They do have a honey wagon and charge $10 to have it stop by your site. Honey wagon goes around the park on Monday and Friday. Roads were OK but small. I would take a motorhome here, but not a big rig due to low trees and a couple of tight turns. Office staff was very helpful and willing to answer questions. We camped at Sherwood Forest Campsite & Cabins in a Motorhome.
