U.S. Space & Rocket Center RV Park, Huntsville, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice little campground on the property of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. There is only one bath house on the grounds and 27 spaces (although there is talk that they may expand it). All sites have full hook-ups, but are very tight to get into, which is why I only gave it a 9 rating. The park is clean and the people are very friendly. I would recommend this park to anyone (just make sure you have a reservation). This was my 2nd time staying there (my first was in May). We camped at U.S. Space & Rocket Center RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you stay there, you are about a 2 minute drive from the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. There is a state park about an hour away with caverns you can visit. A botanical garden is also close by. The only problem with driving around there is the fact that you almost seem to be going around in circles to get somewhere.

Savannah South KOA, Richmond Hill, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice park, although I did notice that the spaces were a bit tight for some of the big units parked there.

The staff was very friendly and did everything they could to help you. The park was very clean and I overheard a conversation saying that they were actually going to charge someone for leaving their campsite a mess.

The park is close enough to Savannah to be able to go in and do your sightseeing. Plenty of places close by to eat if you don't like to cook when you are camping. The only thing I have to complain about with this park is the showers. There wasn't a lot of water pressure with them and the knobs were sort of tricky to work with.

Overall though, I would say that I would gladly stay there again.

Note: They also give a 10% military discount, even to us retired military folks.

At the time, we stayed in a Little Guy teardrop. We camped at Savannah South KOA in a Travel Trailer.
