Oak Creek Campground, Verona, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here for 3 nights to see some sites in the area. Completely missed the fact that there are no sewer hookups. My bad. There are many seasonal or long term stayers with that lived in look that detracts from the appearance of the park. The water and electric in our pull through site was solid. The roads inside the park are a bit tight for a big rig. You check-in at the office then drive to a 180 degree circle turn around to go right back from whence you came..... doable but tight, especially if you are towing. Pull through sites are plenty long enough but a bit lacking in width. You will get to know your neighbors. I know they cant control the weather, but the place is near a creek and there is evidence of continued water problems throughout the park. Lots of soft, muddy areas near the sites and roads that make it difficult to avoid even when walking. Not a terrible stop, but for the price, I expected better. We camped at Oak Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Hidden Oasis RV Park, Wikieup, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Good place for an over night stop. We had a level pull through that was long enough for our coach and toad. Only hooked up electric and it was solid. Several sites have that lived in look that is so common now. Had dinner from the on site cafe. Taco Tuesday was nothing to write home about but was OK for the price and beats cooking after a long travel day. Friendly, helpful, folks running the place. The biggest draw back is the road noise. Trucks on US93 sing long and loud. We camped at Hidden Oasis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good for an over night stop. Convenient to I10. Solid utilities. Level sites. Our pull through was a bit tight to enter and exit but manageable if take your time. I would stay here again. We camped at Camp Stockton RV Park (formerly Comanche Land RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Top of the Hill RV Resort, Boerne, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

As with a lot of campgrounds lately, this place is filled with full timers and long stayers. As the name implies, the park is literally on a hill and is quite a pull on your rig. There was confusion when we arrived as the office told the escort to take us to a site that was occupied. They then told him to take us to another site....that was occupied. But they got it worked out on the third try. Park is fairly clean, utilities are solid and well placed. Wifi is typical campground awful. OK verizon signal and satellite is good on top of the hill. Roads are somewhat tight for larger rigs but manageable. We camped at Top of the Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Berry Springs RV Park, Georgetown, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Good park for an over nighter. Lots of full timers/workers here. Utilities are good with decent wifi. Sites are level and plenty long for pull through and parking. Itbis a bit hard to find traveling south on I35 as you have to get off the interstate on a service road, go past the park to the south, cross over the interstate and go back north. Then when you get on the street leading to the park, there is one small sign but nothing telling you where to turn in to get to the office and register. Once you find the office, then its back out on to the street with some vague directions to find your loop. Not complicated, just confusing when you are not familiar with the area. We camped at Berry Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shallow Creek Golf & RV Resort, Gladewater, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with concrete pads, good room between sites, and solid utilities. The road to exit the park is a bit tight. Wifi was decent. The only dings are that the sites are a bit unlevel front to rear. Why go to the trouble and expense of pouring concrete and not making it level. The front tires on our 40' coach were barely touching the ground when we got level and I saw several others the same way. Nice long sites with good parking. Another ding was the bugs and spiders in the pedestal. How much does it take to wipe things down occasionally? Little things make an impression. Having said all that, it is a nice park and we would stay again. We camped at Shallow Creek Golf & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

River Town Campground, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean park a few miles south of Vicksburg. Friendly owners. Uitilities are solid although located at the very rear of the long pull through sites. The sites look level but it took a good bit of work to get level enough for a couple nights. No problems getting satellite. Wifi was not good but good Verizon. We camped at River Town Campground in a Motorhome.

Movietown RV Park, Canton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park could be a gem but it is being over run with full timers in junky campers. I fully understand monthly and annual rentals pay the bills at an RV park but please set some stamdards. Too many old, dirty, rvs, with tarps and old refridgerators, weeds growing, ...you get the idea. OK for an over night stay but a few more years and I will keep driving. Sites are level and plenty long enough. Utilities are a the very rear so we only hooked up power and water for an overnight stay. Wifi is typical campground worthless but Verizon signal is decent. No problems with satellite in the pull through area. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights with full hookups in Section E. Great State Park with lots to do. Paved streets, big rig friendly, good room between sites. Strong Verizon signal and good satellite reception. Park utilities are spot on. This is one of the nicer state parks we've been to. We camped at Lake Guntersville State Park in a Motorhome.

Riverside Campground & Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, large, campground. Well laid out and super easy for big rigs. Large pull thrus are available. Utilities are solid although we did not try the cable as we used our satellite. Wifi is surprisingly good for a packed house on Saturday night. Seems to be lots to do for families and it is a short,( but not fast) drive to Pigeon Forge and all the touristy stuff. We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

Elkhorn Campground, Frankfort, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

While this campground accomodates Big Rigs, it is borderline when full. Parking for tows and toads is at a premium and takes up space near the streets making turns difficult. Utilities are solid with decent Verizon signal. Our site had borderline satellite reception as there are many trees around. The park seems to be well maintained and has facilities that families would enjoy. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Haven Retreat, Indianapolis, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. Many full time residents and workers but most places are kept tidy. Utilities are solid. Didn't try cable since we could easily use our satellite in the pull thru area. When I made the reservation, I was told only 2 nights available but on check in, asked again and she was able to make 3 nights happen so I appreciate the lady working that day making a little extra effort to accommodate us. Sites are fairly level and some what close but not intrusive. The WiFi is typical campground slow and clunky but it does work. I would stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, Indiana

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Access from the highway is easy down a bumpy road. Interior roads were fairly easy to navigate to our large (length wise) pull thru site. Sites are pretty close side to side but adequate. Utilities are solid with typical slow to non- existent camp ground wifi. Check in was easy but not overly friendly. There is a LARGE dog park at the end of the pull throughs. They were working in other areas placing fresh gravel, and there was evidence of preparing to plant spring flowers. I would stay again if in the area. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Grandma's RV Camping, Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Signs leading to the campground could be a lot better. We kinda stumbled on the place and thats a bit unnerving going down a narrow road and not sure if the campground is there. Once on site, access is fairly easy and straght forward. Sites are level and certainly not spacious but OK for an over nighter. Utilities are good but placed too far to the rear for a large motorhome towing to hook up sewer without dropping the toad. They have wifi but we never could find it on our iPads so we used our Verizon. Sites are open so satellite was easy. It is clear they allow, but really don't want, dogs in the park. An entire page of pet rules, numerous signs threatening expulsion and a dog walk in a grassy area beside a paved road conveys the message pretty clearly. I've certainly paid more and stayed in worse. We camped at Grandma's RV Camping in a Motorhome.
