Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground), St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 6 days in a 43' motorhome to meet up with friends to visit St. Augustine. Easy on/off from I-10. Friendly, efficient check-in, staff had all paperwork ready and did not need to get out of coach. All interior roads are nicely paved - Big rig friendly, easy to navigate. Two sections - front section is a mix of gravel or concrete sites, PT/back-ins w/wo shade; back section is new and all sites are double-wide pavers, FHU PT/ back-in, buddy sites with and w/o shade. Escort to back section site 158 (buddy site), FHU, level pavers pad with cable, picnic table and manicured grass with lots of space between sites. Our friends were in site 159. This made for a great experience. All utilities worked well. Good ATT signal. WiFi (did not use). Our section has a bldg. complex with immaculate restrooms and showers (did not use), exercise room, laundry room and adjacent Dog park with doggie bags. Garbage pick-up daily. We used the following: There is a nature trail that winds around the park; CG has a large, comfortable pool area and clubhouse upfront by main office; Saturday morning 8am-10am breakfast is available in clubhouse ($5 donation), evening is a movie and Sunday afternoon ice cream social ($1/scoop). There are numerous clean, A/C restrooms/showers throughout park. There is a trolley stop at the CG that will take you to St. Augustine. We opted to drive. Close to restaurants, shopping and fuel. We were able to use a BOGO special... CG is on the expensive side but compared to other CG's in area Compass is a great experience and the best option. When in this area will stay again. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA , Montgomery, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 7 days in a 43' motorhome to attend a American Coach rally. Came in on East I-10/TX 105 to CG and avoided Houston loop traffic. Efficient check-in. Big rig friendly. Interior roads are paved. Sites are PT/ back-in with and w/o shade. Escort to back-in site 178, FHU, level concrete pad with cable, picnic table and manicured grass with lots of space between sites. Some sites are lakeside. Fishing is catch/release. All utilities worked well. Good ATT signal. Did not use WiFi. Behind our coach we had a large open grass field on a small hill facing several rental cabins. Large dog park with doggie bags. CG has a large, comfortable convention center where the rally took place. There are numerous clean, A/C restrooms/showers throughout park. Large heated pool under roof with open sides and large deck area with chairs and tables with adjacent well-kept playground. Throughout CG there are several A/C meeting centers and open covered shelters where we had happy hours. CG would get a 10+ but cable was fuzzy and some channels unusable. Close to restaurants and Diesel fuel. When in this area will stay again. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Stay N Go RV, Marianna, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay in our 43' motorhome. New park under construction since hurricane Michael. Price reflects Passport America discount. Easy on/off from I-10. Turn right at the traffic light by Po Folks and follow road around to park entrance. Do not follow GPS it will tell you to turn left. Good utilities mid coach. Sites are PT/back-ins FHU on grass/sand. Mostly level very roomy. Big rig friendly but roads are rough asphalt and need work. Owner is friendly and is making improvements to sites and pave roads. ATT and OTA are good. No cable / WiFi or pool or restrooms and showers. Will stay again. Looking forward to improvements on our next trip when traveling east/west in Florida panhandle. Florida Grande Motor Coach Resort, Webster, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This is a resort... Stayed in a 43' motorhome for one week to attend a rally. Easy to get to from I-75 or US 27 through SR 50 to Webster. Peaceful and quiet countryside, surrounded by cow pastures but within 15 min to Bushnell or 25 min to Clermont. Entrance is gated with security code needed to enter. Office is in clubhouse which is huge with many amenities and activities... main room, built in kitchen, stage/dance floor, fitness center, laundry room, large pool/sauna, outdoor patio, crafts rooms, bathhouse/showers, firepit, etc. Check in was easy. Interior roads are double wide, paved and big rig friendly. All sites are level, double-wide concrete some with or without a Suite (12'x32'). Sites are fully landscaped (26'x76') FHU, 50/30A pull ins overlooking lake or back ins. Most sites are owner owned and some are developer owned and are available for rental on daily, weekly or monthly. Large dog park has bags and there is a walking trail. Food trucks stop-by on Friday evenings. Community is friendly and very inclusive of new guests. This is a great location for a rally or to stay when in central Florida. Fair Harbor RV Park, Perry, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights in a 43' motorhome for the SEACA (American Coach) pre-rally before moving to attend the FMCA's 99th Intl Rally (March 13-16, 2019) 3 miles away (other side of I-75) at the State Fairground in Perry, GA. Our rate reflects group rate. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Stayed in new area, recently opened, at rear of park in a FHU, PT, level site #146 called "Hippo", no shade and includes cable with 70+ channels. ATT reception and WiFi was good. Remainder of park has lots of shade, a lake for fishing, several dog walks/parks, and a fenced-in area with numerous goats. The park has propane and a dump station which many used after the FMCA rally to dump before heading home. We returned to FH Park one night after the FMCA rally before heading home. No escort to site but roads throughout park are paved and Big-Rig friendly. Roadway into this new area was large gravel including the site. Our stay included the use of the indoor Pavilion for meals and socials for 50+ guests. We've stayed here previously several times and found it a good experience and will use this park again when in the area. We camped at Fair Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lazydays RV Campground, Seffner, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 5 days in a 43" motorhome to attend SEACA Rally. We've been here more than 12 times over the past 6 years for various rallies and events. Our site, #243, is a 45' back-in (all sites are back-in), FHU, level, paved with cable and Wifi. Utilities are located approx. mid coach and work well. Sites have grass, patio and picnic tables. Interior roads are paved and extra wide making it easy for big rigs to navigate. However tow vehicle parking is in front of your rig which means you car is parallel parked along the street. This can make it a little challenging to pull-in/pullout of your site with cars across from you but doable. Check-in parking is in front of office and gives you plenty of room to unhook your vehicle. Staff at check-in is always friendly and efficient. The office is next to the large screened heated pool, Rally Center and "Exit 10" restaurant providing Food and Bar service. Extra clean showers and bathrooms are located by pool and are accessed via keypad. Tennis courts, children's playground and dog park and dog wash are in the same area. Another dog park is at the other end of CG and you can find doggie bags throughout the park. Lazydays has a mobile wash & Wax service that comes around daily with reasonable prices. Our stay has always been enjoyable and we will return. We camped at Lazydays RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great small park in Elko, GA. Overnight stay on the way home to Florida. We have used this CG many times traveling North-South. Easy on-off from I-75. Staff waiting for you and will escort you to site and once settled you go into office and pay. Big Rig friendly. They accept Passport America (cash/check). Our site was #6 PT FHU, level, no cable but has clear view (sites 1-7) so you can get satellite. Other sites are shaded and PT/back-in's FHU. Dog park, pool and hottub (closed for season), clubhouse has large cable TV. This is our go-to CG when traveling through this area. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

River Plantation RV Park, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 weeks to attend the FCOC Rally (1st week Nov18) in a 43' motorhome. First 2 weeks on our own - last week was Rally. Easy on/off from I-40 to CG in Sevierville/Pigeon Forge (approx. 8 mi). Check in was fast/efficient large office with stocked store. Large park (approx. 300 sites), no escort but easy to navigate paved roads, big rig friendly, to our PT FHU, 50A, cable, gravel site. ATT service is good. Loop roads are gravel into gravel site with gassy area on sides w/picnic table on a oversized concrete pad. Some sites are set up for seasonal residents to use. They have guest trailers that are stored and moved onto a site. Shade trees around sites. Change of season came at Halloween giving trees a red/yellow coloring. Pool complex closed for season is located at front of park close to office and event center. Large pool, hot tub, lazy river, bath/showers, fitness center, arcade. Park has a large pavilion w/stage at other end. Large DOG park w/doggy bags and dog walking areas. Fishing is allowed in river around two sides of park. The event center easily holds 300 guests and has its own parking, kitchen, and media capabilities for rallies. We used the CG as a home base to visit GSMNP, Cherokee, Wears Valley as well as numerous shows and restaurants. The CG is perfect for day trips to visit the many water falls and hiking trails in the GSMNP. We were lucky enough to see the Christmas show at the "Smoky Mountains Opry" - Fantastic. When in this area we will definitely stay here again. We camped at River Plantation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Indian Mountain State Park, Jellico, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park... Stayed 4 nights in a 43' motorhome. Easy access from I-75. Booked online on TN state Parks website. Went directly to site #5, Back-in, FHU, 50A, level concrete pad overlooking lake on main road that goes thru park. Big Rig friendly, easy to navigate. Locals use this road but this was not an issue during our stay. Park facilities are used local families. All sites are back-in and most sites in main loop are W/E only (dump station on site). Utilities at rear with W/S about 10' behind pad that may require a lengthy setup. Partial shade, no cable, no WIFI and poor OTA channels. Our site faced south(clear view) and able to get satellite reception. Our view of the lake was really nice and most mornings there was a fog that hung over the mountains and lake and burned off by mid morning. Walking trails and lots of space to walk your dog. Several children's playgrounds, basketball, volleyball, Paddle boats, picnic areas and pavilions. Town of Jellico has typical fast food at I-75 exit and limited markets for groceries so come prepared. Firewood available at Ranger station. Good overnight stop and would stay again when passing thru this area. We camped at Indian Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights in a 43' motorhome to visit horse farms. Easy on-off from I-75. Check-in at gift store and disconnected tow vehicle in parking area. Easy to navigate big rig. No escort to site 51, back-in, E/W, fire ring, picnic table, level asphalt. Beautiful surroundings with shade trees all around. Sites are perpendicular to road and just wide enough to fit coach making entry-exit tight and tires cut over grass. Arrived in pouring rain and these corners were mud holes. Remainder of stay (3 days) mud never improved much. Grounds do not drain well. Good distance between sites. No satellite due to trees. No cable/good OTA channels. A lot of room to walk dog. CG has nice pool facilities that were closed for season. Park was full over weekend with local families. Several dump stations at entrance to park. If in area probably would not use for overnight stay but good location to visit horse farms. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Timber Trails Campground, Mulberry Grove, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay in a 43' motorhome. Rate is Passport America. Our site was 100' long, level, gravel 50A and water only. Dump station is at entrance of CG. Easy on-off from I-70. Called when exit from I-70 and owner waited for us and escorted to site at the front of the park facing south into a corn field. Nearest neighbor was 50' away. Utilities worked well. ATT service and Sat. is good. Roadway is hard packed gravel easy to navigate with a BIG RIG. Park is a mix of mostly weekend get-a-way campers and sites are customized to each occupant. There is a meadow with playground and a small ball field. Present owners bought CG from parents, who retired, and are maintaining a very nice CG. When going through this area will stay again. Garden of the Gods Campground, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 7 nights in a 43' motorhome. Major construction underway blocking main entrance. Called for best directions the day before and told to enter through EXIT from "W Pikes Peak Ave". Attendant on golf cart was waiting for arriving guests and escorted to PT FHU site N03. Interior roads are paved but tight to navigate for BIG Rigs. Mix of back-ins and PT sites. Premium sites, head-in, have a level concrete pad facing main road construction. Neighbors are very close and our slide went over the neighbors table. Site was not level front-to-back. CG is all gravel, some shade, no cable and few OTA channels. ATT service spotty as was WIFI. Dog park has bags and is all gravel. CG is located close to many attractions which made it convenient. Office interior/lounge is beautiful with pool table. There is a good arcade room. If in area probably will not stay here again. We camped at Garden of the Gods Campground in a Motorhome.
