Fall Creek Falls State Park, Spencer, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The park is beautiful and a favorite of ours. However, it is no place for a motorhome. The sites are asphalt but it's poured to the shape of the hills. We saw other motorhomes with front tires a foot off the ground. We drove around and identified no more than a dozen sites that we could easily level our 35' motorhome. We'll return only if we can reserve one of those level sites. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Big Pine Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is all I hoped for when I made the reservation. The owners are actively involved on site. I was escorted to my site and he stayed there until I was level. They delivered firewood to my site at a very reasonable price. The sites are spacious and nestled under hundreds of Ponderosa pines. The park is convenient to the town of Custer, and all the other main attractions in the Black Hills. The Wi-Fi is as good as we have experienced anywhere, and the Verizon signal is excellent. The beautiful pines interfere with satellite unless you have a portable system. I definitely recommend this park. We camped at Big Pine Campground in a Motorhome.

Davis Bayou Campground, Ocean Springs, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

This is by far the best RV camp site in the area. It is part of the Gulf Coast National Seashore that reaches from Mississippi to Florida. While amenities are limited, there are hiking trails and level roads for biking. The park is safe and regularly patrolled by park rangers and local police. We used the national parks senior pass to get the rate. We already have another trip planned in the fall and have reserved our site. We camped at Davis Bayou Campground in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a bit difficult to access because it is in downtown New Orleans next to I-10. Once there, I felt it was worth the drive into the city. I-10 is elevated in that area so noise was not an issue. The park is bordered by a masonry fence and the gate is an automatic wrought-iron. The park is small and the sites are spacious but fairly close. The entire roadway and parking sites are paver brick. The park and facilities are first class. Monday through Thursday Passport America is accepted. I will stay here again but will probably come during the week to take advantage of the discount. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.
