Saratoga RV Park, Gansevoort, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

I will preface this by saying we like to camp at state parks, so this was fine for us. Sites are wooded or a mix of gravel and grass. Our site was in the back of the CG, long pull through. We did not need to level. Gravel with grass. It rained about 2 " while we were there, site drained well. Plenty of room. Cable did not work, 1 network over the air which was all we needed for news. Bathrooms were clean. Pool was lovely on a hot weekend. New owners are doing renovations. I was a little worried with the last review but it was fine. People were friendly. Mix of seasonals and transient but all well kept. There was someone driving around from maintinence frequently. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Saratoga RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nashville East / Lebanon KOA, Lebanon, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at several KOAs and find them fine for a 1 or 2 night stay. What we have come up with is that they lack attention to detail. This one had friendly staff. Easy on and off i40. Level pull through site. Better hookup locations than some. Clean bathrooms. But for example, a sunny Monday after a weekend of rain in the spring and no one cut the grass even in the common sites. The dog park grass was long. Same could be said for the KOA in West Va.
A little tight to maneuver around the campground with a big rig We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy on easy off. Stayed here as an overnight enroute to the west. Our site was in the first row with the wall and trees in front of us. It was stiffling hot. No air moved there. Other sites were less so. concrete level pad. It was fine for an overnight. We camped at Salina KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Hill RV Park, Kutztown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night on our trip back from Maine. Very clean, well kept campground. On a hill bordering on i78. Easy on and off. They are doing work on exit 40. We used 45 and it was fine. Next to a farm. Long pull through fairly level gravel site with nicely placed water and sewer. Accommodated our fiver and tow vehicle with plenty of room. Grassy sites and plenty of grassy areas around the campground to walk the dogs. All other comments were accurate. Some branches did graze the top of the camper. We loved it. As it it 4 hours from home we will definitely be back. We camped at Pine Hill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Saco / Old Orchard Beach KOA, Saco, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here over Mother's Day weekend. The campground is undergoing renovations and are adding sites in the back of the property. They called us to make certain we knew about it and that we were still OK to come. It did not impact our stay. We had a large site to accommodate our group. It worked out well. All gravel, no grass, fairly level. Large. Laundry was fine. Bathrooms were clean. Part of out group stayed in a camping cabin. Also very nice. The front of the campground has older smaller sites with many trees and closer together. We would stay here again. We camped at Saco / Old Orchard Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA), Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled in for an overnight. Long pull through, easy hookup, could walk the dogs all around the back of the park. They do serve breakfast and dinner. We ate breakfast there. Great simple breakfast. Eggs were perfect. Had to do a couple of loads of laundry and that was fine also. It is an older campground and needs a little TLC but it was fine for us and having breakfast available and food was a great thing. Would stop over again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

B.J.'s RV Park, Terlingua, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Thought this was a great little RV park in the desert. This is a basic campground with everything you need-power, water, laundry, we are minimalists and don't need a whole lot to make us happy. We were in the new section with 30amp power, (we think going to 50 amp when finished) back in site. Plenty of room. No actual pad site yet as it is a work in progress, but we put out our mat on the dirt and it was just fine. There are a few snowbirds wintering here and all were lovely and helpful. Had a potluck get together on the weekend which was fun. They shared great information on hikes in the area as well as Big Bend. Wifi was good. Verizon was 3g and worked fine. They try to keep the park with minimal lighting at night for the stars. We had a full moon, so we didn't get to enjoy that part. Everyone was friendly, we ended up staying an extra day. Will return, hopefully during a new moon. We camped at B.J.'s RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a well stocked market in the town of Study Butte a couple of miles up the road. We opted to stay on this side as we wanted to do the 170 scenic byway drive through Lajitas to Presidio. Excellent! So glad we did it. A little bit of a drive into Big Bend, but we spent most of our time on this side of the park. The Ross Maxwell drive is a must as well as the Santa Elena hike.

Possibly the nicest Good Sam park we have ever stayed in. Large level concrete pad sites. Wide concrete roads. Easy to maneuver. Clean. Spotless. Pool. exercise room, pond. Bathrooms were very clean. Staff was super friendly. All the reviews were spot on. Great stopover on our way to Texas. We would stop here again. Campground was full for our overnight stay. We had a pull through site. Mystic KOA, North Stonington, Connecticut

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the few campgrounds in Ct. We were visiting family and used this as a stopover on our travels. We were in the pull thru A section. Long pull thru site. This was good as sites are on the narrow side, and many of the hookups are over in the neighboring site. Sewer connection is 2-3 feet from the water connection.

Friendly staff, plenty of space to walk dogs. Playground and pool. We pulled in local channels via antenna. But they do have cable. Wifi was adequate. We will stay again. We camped at Mystic KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Prairie Cove Campground, Ashby, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here for an overnight. True about the sites being tight if they were full, but they do space you out and you want to set up facing the view of the lake. Absolutely beautiful spot. It was a very windy night but they have trees and bushes planted that blocked the wind. Level gravel sites with full hookup. Wifi was fine, a little slow but we had no problem. Verizon cell was excellent. Antenna pulled in plenty of channels. Owners were lovely.Excellent stopover. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a week. Staff was super helpful and friendly. They provide pet service and walked our dogs for us so we didn't have to worry while hiking all day. The sites had plenty of room. They water the sites so you actually have grass. The Wifi was dependant upon site location. There is no cable nor antenna reception. They have a well stocked store, pizza delivered to your site that was good. Pancake breakfast, barbecue. Pool. Hot tub. Access to lake. Close to park entrance. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Make sure you stock up on groceries. The local store only has basics. The nearest larger grocery store is an hour away. Route 89 from browning at this writing was ripped up for about 5 miles. Dirt only. There was no detour sign. 465 is a better RV option. Easier drive.

Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

After 6 weeks of travel and multiple campgrounds we would stay here again. The spaces are average for an RV park, nice long pull through. The pads were gravel and fairly level. The sites had little grass but it is the high dry prairie so this is not unusual. Staff was friendly and helpful. Park was clean and maintained. Laundry was reasonable and clean. Right next to the national park. Within walking distance to downtown. There is a shuttle available for the Medora show. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
