Fla-Net Park, Flanders, New Jersey

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Fla-Net is a campground to avoid. GPS location is incorrect - it took us to a dead-end road. So we had to unhitch our towed vehicle to get turned around. The manager said they keep meaning to correct that. The campground was a mix of hills and valleys. It was the most uneven campground I've ever seen. The first spot they sent me to was way too narrow with overhanging trees that scraped my roof. After complaining they gave me the adjacent site. Thankfully I had a good surge protector. It caught the fact that the electric had no "ground" and the polarity was reversed. This could have fried my camper's electrical system. Had to add an extender to my electric cable to hook up to the next site over. This place is a wreck! We camped at Fla-Net Park in a Motorhome.

Find somewhere else to camp. This is close to NYC, but not worth it.

Hershey Conewago Campground, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Location is the best part of this campground. Although the price is comparable to others in the area, it is not comparable when compared to what is provided. The campground is in much need of upgrade. Stuff is falling apart everywhere. The office/store looks terrible...lots of junk lying around office. I have to agree with another review of this campground - the best way to describe the restrooms/showers is "gross"! They are filthy, full of bugs, broken down, in need of paint and in downright sorry condition. Lots were uneven and were a combination of grass and spotty patches gravel. Manager appeared to be the office clerk and maintenance guy at the same time since things are so rundown and we never saw any employees. We camped at Hershey Conewago Campground in a Motorhome.

Very close to Hershey PA. This is in a great location for going to the Hershey Chocolate Factory. If you're going to Lancaster, it's an hour or away.

Almond Tree RV Park, Chico, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

First class operation! One of the cleanest parks I've ever seen. Very friendly host couple. Greeted us upon entry and checked on our stay each day. Their policies regarding children, pool use, rundown RVs, smoking, and pets all made for a quiet and comfortable stay. We camped at Almond Tree RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Redwood Meadows RV Resort (formerly Hiouchi RV Resort), Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We've never seen this before: each site is defined on one side by old concrete road barriers. These barriers are downright hazardous! I was told they get scraped often. I was initially assigned a parallel parking slot with a concrete barrier between the road and the site which was an impossible task with a 34' fifth wheel. Later was told to just find a site to my liking. Clubhouse, laundry and restrooms were fine. But, the concrete barriers make this a questionable campground. I would recommend staying elsewhere unless nothing else was available. We camped at Redwood Meadows RV Resort (formerly Hiouchi RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Port of Newport RV Park, Newport, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Nice Park. It's all about location, location, location. Expansive sand beach about 1/4 mile (almost deserted when we were there in August). Although sites are not on the water (about 150' away) the park has a beautiful view adjacent to the marina. Oregon Coast Aquarium on block away. Fishing pier and crab dock just over the adjacent bay bridge...within one or two miles. Sea lions in the water at the pier, boat tours and fishing tours available. Several nice looking restaurants along the pier. Only two minor negatives: Spacing of slots was a little tight and Wi-Fi was almost unusable due to just too many users. This is inexcusable in today's camping environment. Bottom line: I would stay in this camp again without question. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sierra Meadows RV Park, Ahwahnee, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We do not recommend you stay here. The 1.5 mile entrance road is filled with tight turns. Two of them had signs recommending just 10 MPH! The first quarter mile of the entrance road is an incredible 8 percent uphill grade. Very difficult to get into golf course club house parking lot to register. You must reverse course to get back to the actual RV park. Roads in the campground are narrow. Over half of the park was inaccessible due to narrow roads, tight turns and trees right up against the road. Half the accessible pads had a steep section at beginning or end of the slot which would make it very easy to scrape the back of your RV. Only three other RVs there when we arrived. We now know why. Unless you have an overpowered engine and are a risk-taker, avoid this site! We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
