Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground, Fancy Gap, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is under new ownership. Very nice people! I believe they said they had just celebrated their first anniversary. It is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy, easy access. It's in a very nice setting with a great view. Appears to have been an apple orchard at some point. Our site was smallish, but it seems like most people just use this as home base while they explore the Parkway. Some of the other sites looked larger. They have several what appear to be one room cabins that are cute as a button. They cater to motorcyclist. There was some walking trails but we didn't have time to check them out. The best thing is the bathhouse. It was a building with 5 (pretty sure that was the count) separate large bathrooms with toilet, sink, shower and bench. I love this concept! They were incredibly clean! The shower could be a little bigger, but that is a minor factor. There was even a deck all around with a couple chairs in case you had someone waiting for you. We camped at Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground in a Truck Camper.

Loyston Point Campground, Andersonville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very well managed, clean campground. Not a "resort". On the cleanest lake in TN. Staff very helpful. Boat ramp nearby as are walking trails. Have what appears to be a well stocked store, but I was there in off season so they were scaling back some on supplies.

Some of the most friendly people I have ever met. Follow their directions to campground. Can be tricky. Boats are welcome and it looks like there is plenty of shore to tie up there. They have a beach area also. We camped at Loyston Point Campground in a Truck Camper.
