Shipshewana Campground - South Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was a full hook-up pull through site. Not too level as the front wheels were slightly off the ground after leveling. Very convenient location for seeing the sites of Shipshewana and the surrounding area. We rode bikes throughout the area including the Pumpkinvine trail to Middlebury, which was a very nice bike path. Checkin was easy and friendly. Sites are fairly close together, but not terrible. This was our forth trip to the area in the past five years and always have an enjoyable time. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 4 nights on site number 1019, which was a spacious site close to the lake. Not lake front, but probably only a few hundred yards away. The site was very level and had plenty of room for our RV and large screen room. The utility hookup all worked very well, but were scattered around on different parts of the site. Not really a problem, but would be very confusing if hooking up at night for the first time. Our site was spacious, but there are a lot of sites that are pretty tight, especially along the lake front. This is a BIG campground with lots of sites and lots of people during the summer. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing park this may not be your place, but we had a very enjoyable time and the park seems to quiet down pretty quickly after 10pm. We rode the bike path to Mackinac City several times which we really enjoyed and made seeing the sites of the city very easy. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Midway Park COE, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Only one night stay. Portion of the park was closed due to flooding. We stayed in one of the full hookup pull through sites. The downside of the pull through sites is they are very close to the highway with quite a bit of traffic noise. Site was level and paved with easy hook-ups. The grass in the park was very tall, but that could have been result of all the recent rain and flooding. This park was a last minute change as our original reservation at the Airport COE was cancelled due to flooding. Very small park with easy assess to Waco attractions. We camped at Midway Park COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Only a one night stay, but would definitely stay again. Nice quiet park along the river with nice paved sites. It rained most of the evening so we could not get out and enjoy our river side site. Appears to be well kept. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Motorhome.

North Sandusky Campground COE, Sesser, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Only stayed one night on our way back home, but would definitely stay again. We had one of the few full hookup sites, most are electric only. Very long and level asphalt site, with lots of shade. As we drove around a little it did appear that many sites were not very level. Sites are spaced pretty nicely so plenty of room. The lake is huge and very beautiful. There are several paved bike paths connecting various campground and places around Rend lake. It would be nice if the trails were a complete loop, but the section from North Sandusky to South Marcum is about 11 miles. Lots of wildlife along the trail as we saw 32 deer and 6 turkeys on an evening bike ride. We camped at North Sandusky Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Highway 6 RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for 4 nights in a back-in "lakeside" site. Sites are pretty close together, but we only had neighbor on one side so it didn't seem too bad. Very level concrete pads with very convenient hook-ups. Close to the Westpark tollway so getting to downtown is fairly quick, but not free. Did not really notice much noise from the parkway, but it was hot so AC was on all the time. There is a very nice paved bike path accessible across the street. Probably at least 7-8 miles of walking/riding paths in total. The staff was very friendly, even when a visitor to our site parked somewhere they should not have. The bathrooms and grounds were immaculate all the time. Nice recreation room with exercise equipment, pool table, TV, coffee, popcorn, etc. At least two outdoor grills and gas fire pits available for use. Overall, very nice urban type RV park. We camped at Highway 6 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Easy and friendly check-in process. Electronic gate on our loop (but not all) which I like. Sites were spaced nicely on our loop. All utilities well placed and in good repair. Free WiFi worked well. Good location right on Highway 30. Some traffic noise but no issue with AC running. We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Hersheypark Camping Resort, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Park is in great location for seeing sites of Hershey with easy in/out. Check-in process was quick and friendly. Our site was level with mix of gravel and grass, but other sites seemed to have more gravel than ours. Site backed up to small creek which made for nice atmosphere. Shuttle to the amusement park is nice benefit and even though we did not go to the amusement park, we used shuttle to go to Hershey World (short walk) and Hershey Museum (20 minute walk on nice wide and new sidewalks) We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Pine Mountain RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Extremely nice RV park. Our site was concrete pull thru with asphalt apron and very level. All utilities were easy to access and in great conditions. Sites are fairly close together , but they had done good job with vegetation to give some privacy. Easy check-in process with friendly staff. The park is only 1/2 mile from the parkway which puts it close to the action, but far enough away to seem peaceful and quiet. They have a nice splash pool, but not many other activities for kids, so if that is what you are looking for there may be better choices. Super nice and clean bathrooms. No complaints at all. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA, Trenton, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly and helpful staff. Campground was clean and everything appeared to be in good shape and well maintained with plenty of facilities and activities for kids. Campground is on a hillside so the layout can be a little confusing. Some sites appear to be very close to others, while others were well spaced. The hookups were well placed on our site (70) and in good operating condition. We did have a bright dusk to dawn light near our site, but we actually liked it as it made outdoor activities easier after dark, but could be a problem if you don't have dark window shades. We camped at Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA in a Motorhome.

Clifty Falls State Park, Madison, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park campground. Spacious sites with gravel pads. Asphalt interior roads so nice for riding bikes. Electric only sites which is pretty typical for Indiana State Parks. Stayed for 3 nights during Madison's annual Chautauqua, which is a very nice arts and crafts festival. Several nice hiking trails within the park. Our site was very level, but not so true for some of the other sites. We camped at Clifty Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Victory RV Park and Campground, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean, well kept, no frills RV park. Owners were very friendly and helpful. We stayed during the eclipse so the park was full. Only complaint was low voltage at the pedestal which often was below 110 volts and created some problems for our satellite receiver. It was very hot (90+), so this may not have been a problem with the parks electrical system. We had a corner site which did have one small willow tree that offered a little bit of shade in the morning. We camped at Victory RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Scenic Hills RV Park, Millersburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Overall, very nice campground. Check-in was quick and easy, just be aware that they do not take credit cards. The interior roads are all wide and easy to navigate. Site was level packed gravel. The utilities were all in good condition and easy to reach. The free firewood was an added bonus. No shower house, which was a little surprising, but with all sites having full hook-ups, I guess it is really no big deal for the most part. Location is super for visiting the area. We camped at Scenic Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rayford Crossing RV Resort, Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for 5 nights while in Houston visiting our son and daughter in law. I don't give many 10's, but this place definitely deserves it. Very easy check-in and the staff was very helpful and courteous. Enjoyed playing shuffleboard and ping-pong with our kids. Long list of amenities, many of which we did not have time to use. Bathrooms were always spotless. Laundry room was very nice and reasonably priced. Did have to pay to rent a fire pit, but it did come with decent sized bundle of wood, which was enough for the evening. We camped at Rayford Crossing RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Texarkana KOA, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here two nights on our way to/from trip to Texas. Easy to find and easy after hours check-in system. As other have said, it is close to busy Interstate, but with AC running it was not objectionable and we were in only the 3rd row from the Interstate. Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about either. We camped at Texarkana KOA in a Motorhome.
