White Birch Campground, South Deerfield, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight on our way to Acadia NP in order to visit the Yankee Candle Co. in S. Deerfield. The facilities were tired. We used the toilets, but not the showers. The office facility had a lounge area, but it wasn't at all inviting, and there were no supplies available for sale, as you might expect to find. The staff member we talked with had not been alerted to our reservation, but was friendly and accommodating. Our site was flat and easily accessible in an open field. There were quite a few seasonal sites tucked back in the woods. I would consider stopping here for a day, or so, to visit the local attractions, but only out of convenience. We camped at White Birch Campground in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Yankee Candle Co. is interesting, but way over-commercialized in comparison to what it was when we visited back in the mid-90's. If you are close to it, it might be worth a stop, but I wouldn't go a long way off my route to get to it. There is a butterfly farm nearby, as well, but we did not visit it.

Cedar Point State Park, Clayton, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest of the state parks we have visited. The view of the river is excellent, and the park is within easy driving distance of all the area activities. The restroom facilities are being upgraded throughout the park, but the process has not yet reached the waterfront facility. That facility is a bit tired, but well-maintained. The park has a nice marina facility, and fishing boats are available for rental. We have been here four times in the last two years, and we will definitely be back. We camped at Cedar Point State Park in a Truck Camper.

Camp Bell Campground, Campbell, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Corning Glass. This is the nicest private park we have visited. There are quite a few seasonals, but they are well-maintained, as is the entire park. The bathroom and shower facilities are the nicest we have seen anywhere. They are not fancy, but they are in excellent condition and very nicely maintained. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Camp Bell Campground in a Travel Trailer.
