Cluxewe Resort, Port McNeill, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great campsite if you like to fish - and the salmon are running. The campsite is rustic but the facilities are clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. Internet is available from a private provider but it is expensive. Cell service is spotty up there. Lots of interesting places to visit on the North end of the island - all day trips from the resort. We camped at Cluxewe Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Port McNeill is a nice little town - as is Port Hardy. We did an awesome whale watching tour with Stubbs Whale Watching out of Telegraph Cove - highly recommend this company.

Big Country Campground & RV Park, Lac La Hache, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

What a super little campground - rustic but well-maintained. The owner was friendly and helpful. The site was wide enough to accommodate slide and awning. The showers were the cleanest I have ever seen and they were FREE. Highly recommended. We camped at Big Country Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Blue Cedars RV Park and Campground, Prince George, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Gentleman in office was curt and unfriendly. We were crammed in like sardines. The site was so narrow that if we had put out our awning, it would simply have kept the neighbour's sewer hose dry. It appears that very little money has been spent on maintenance in a long time. We were there for 4 nights over the Labour Day weekend. There were rigs coming and going all weekend but we never saw any park employees checking on sites before or after they were occupied. Garbage that was left in sites simply stayed there. The roadways were uneven and pot-holed. It rained most of the weekend and there were rivers of mud running through the place. We did have full hookups - water, power, sewer, and cable. The Wi-Fi worked well but we would never stay here again. We camped at Blue Cedars RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
