Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park, Springdale, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here because it claimed to be the closest to Zion's entrance; but, unfortunately due to the crowds and VERY long bus lines, we never went into the park and left after only 2 days. We were also very disappointed with the overall condition of the RV park. Individual sights were very close and "bunched together" and with clay surfaces it was very dusty. I also tried to dump our tanks, but the sewer connection was too high to allow a good flow so gave up without dumping. The bathrooms were clean and in nice condition; but, the showers require a token for 6 minutes and it took at least 2 minutes for the water to heat up. Also, there was only one door hook for clothes so had to hang towel, clothes, etc over side of shower walls. A bench would have been great. We camped at Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Unfortunately Zion National Park has become very popular since we were here last (about 2 years ago.) We went during spring break and the crowds were overwhelming trying to get in. We walked to the bus stop for entry to the park and the line stretched forever with an estimated time of 1 1/2 hrs. The key to getting in fairly quickly is to try early: maybe 7-8:00. The town of Springdale is cute and has several good restaurants.

Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA, Silt, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This park is only 3 years old and many trees have been planted which will, someday look nice. Right now it is very open. We stayed "on the river" which actually is a small run off from the main river about 50 yards further west. Restrooms were very clean and in nice overall condition. Very strong Wifi signal. I-70 is north of the campground about 200 yds. Roads and sights were gravel, but long and fairly well spaced between sights. We wouldnt pay extra for a river sight again, but overall the park is nice and friendly. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Pleasant Valley RV Park of Howard, Howard, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Approximately 80% of their spaces are used by permanent residents, which leaves only 5-6 spaces along the river which is where you want to be. All of the river spaces are back in. There are no paved road surfaces so it is very dusty. The interior spaces have no view of the river. The restroom was clean, but is limited to one person at a time. wifi was good. Many people here are from Texas and they all seem to know each other and are friendly. Park closes around the 15th of October for the year. Park is next to a horse corral and can smell like horses when wind is right (not good). Also can hear main highway. Would not stay here again. We camped at Pleasant Valley RV Park of Howard in a Motorhome.
