Hungry Horse Campground, Dorr, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We had a great time here with our family. It was a small adjustment getting used to the no cement pad area for our motorhome and the mud and dirt everywhere, but hey that was part of the fun. The owners are incredible people. They changed their internet service from DSL to a cable company and had some issues. When I called and talked to the gal at the front about it, she handled it real professionally. Ten minutes later one of the owners drove her pickup down to our motorhome, knocked and had a neighborly discussion about it. She was not rushed or irritated or nothing but wanted me to know exactly what was going on. That was more than enough for me and let our family know that we are appreciated as customers. A real surprise. Later on Labor Day weekend they surprised us again by having the local Dorr Fire Department treat the kids to spraying down by fire hose and tour of fire truck. Very unexpected. The staff at Hungry Horse is all VERY professional and friendly. Their store is very southern style and makes you feel part of the outdoor experience. Pool was spotless and had an 8ft deep end the kids loved. They are a great campground with some fantastic seasonal people that waive you down when you are passing by and get you engaged in the conversation. It was a very family oriented campground and we won't hesitated to visit it again! We camped at Hungry Horse Campground in a Motorhome.

Hidden Ridge RV Resort, Hopkins, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Okay, this was our first RV experience and all I can say is WOW. The staff is incredible, the ground meticulous and the entire experience was flawless. Its run by a big organization, but they have a great deal of kid activities, bass fishing (catch and release) that will make a grown man cry...we caught larger bass, several in an hour and they were monsters. The cement pads and full hookups are flawless and clean and well maintained. Everyone pretty much walks their pets and cleans up after them as they have little poo stations, every so often, its hard to go far without coming across one. The pool is pristine and the pool party was amazing, laser lights, music, etc. Crazy fun for kids and adults. I was a little put off the by the 10 years or younger RV policy but we had a 1993 mint condition RV, let us in, no problem. Some people are snotty - you know the kind, the ones in the neighborhood that are greater than thee...but for the most part, everyone waves at everyone and its the first time in my life ever, that we let our kids ride off on their own around the park. They didn't do that in our neighborhood and we lived in a pretty upscale lot. That's how safe, well maintained and good people are present. If you haven't been there, you MUST try them out. The managers are great people, love to chat it up and the experience is a lot of fun. We camped at Hidden Ridge RV Resort in a Motorhome.
