Newton / Des Moines East KOA, Newton, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This was a last-minute stop for the night and we were very happy that they had a large pull-through available. We were in a 42' motorhome towing a 12' trailer. A staff member took us directly to our site, turned on a night-light by the hookups (nice touch!), and stopped by later in the evening to explain some noise and reassure us that the large motorhome he put next to us would not inhibit our ability to exit easily. Traveling with such a large rig, we greatly appreciated this information. We also appreciated being given a military discount. The only drawback we found to this campground was that it backed right up to Hwy 80, so we listened to trucks going by all night. Other than that, they provided welcome refuge for these weary travelers! We camped at Newton / Des Moines East KOA in a Motorhome.

Portal RV Resort and Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

While it looked narrow and tight, we were able to (fairly easily) maneuver in and out of the site with a 42' motorhome pulling a 12' trailer. There were no fire rings but there was a charcoal grill on each site. The pea gravel base was easily tracked in the camper and proved challenging for our motorcycles. The staff was not often on duty; it was well into the next day before we made personal contact. With that said, they left paperwork in an easy to find place along with information on when they would return. Sites were very close together; we could look right into the next camper's windows. The campground was a convenient 1 mile ride to downtown restaurants and shopping 3 to 4 miles to Arches National Park. We would visit this campground again. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground, Bryce Canyon, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

The sites were clean, level, and long enough. We were in a 42' motorhome pulling a 12' trailer. The staff was friendly and informative. The campground was conveniently located, providing easy walking access to the store, restaurants, shops, and shuttle to the canyon trail. With such a large rig, the campground was very easy to maneuver through. We appreciated this greatly. We did chuckle over the brochure that described shady sites; shade was nowhere to be found in the RV section. We camped at Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Kaibab CampeRVillage, Jacob Lake, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The site was clean, level and long enough. We were in 42' motor home pulling a 12' trailer. The turns in the park were a little tight but manageable. The campfire areas were shared and we enjoyed meeting nice folks when we brought out guitars. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They informed us, when we arrived, that there was some kind of restriction that prohibited the sewer line from being on the ground and offered to loan us a raised rack. They were informed about all the area attractions and happy to answer questions. As the only full hookup RV campground on the North Rim, they did a great job. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Motorhome.
