River View RV Park & Resort, Vidalia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Located across the Bridge to Mississippi. pretty expensive for what you get. We stayed for a night prior to accessing the Natchez Trace. Nothing outstanding about this park. It was clean and quiet and on the Mississippi River. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Natchez Historic centre and info centre across the bridge. More to do there, the old mansions were lovely. Proximity to Natchez Trace was the only reason we stopped. Nothing here to be outstanding, a Walmart would have been just as nice for the price.

Jamaica Beach RV Park, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

11 or so miles from Galveston, across the highway to the beach...it rained the two days we were there so did not use the beach. Wifi is a joke, they will tell you they have spend $$$s on their system...I think they should reconsider advertising it as a perk! TV was snowy so again this service is not good considering the prices off season. The sites were well laid out and the nicest thing about this park. Great family camp ground with fun things in park. We camped at Jamaica Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Galveston has a Historic area called the Strand, an Artsy area and a great day trip. The ferry to Crystal Beach is free and worth the ride. The drive along the coastal road to 124 that takes you north to I-10 is an easy way to avoid Houston....Dining out was expensive and the restaurants looked worn out, smelled of tobacco smoke...we bbq a steak at our site.

Paragon Casino Resort RV Park, Marksville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and friendly campground...on Native America lands so the bonus is a Casino, Hotel and Restaurants. Smoking is allowed in the Casino and the restaurant, what a shame. I can't believe in this day and age that smoking is allowed any where...we didn't go anywhere as the smoking is a barrier for someone with lung disease....Noise, loud music, campers driving thru the park on their golf carts with huge speakers and booming music. We camped at Paragon Casino Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Roads to this campground were confusing...Robinson Bridge Rd turns into an extremely narrow 1 1/2 wide road which twists and curves until it meets up with the next ....Stay on the main roads in this State

Llano Grande Resort and Country Club, Mercedes, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a 55 plus park. Clean, friendly, and well organized. Many folks stay the winter and some RVers stop in on their way to another area. The signage to this park is non existent and this is a problem as the GPS always takes you to somewhere other than this park...SIGNS would be helpful on the main highway in and at the road on Mile2W...your receipt will state it is a problem but who has their receipt while driving! We stayed here for 5 months. TV and Wifi were the best I have seen in an RV park. They were upgrading so sometimes shut down...but when working it was really good. A large park with over 1100 sites/users. Reserve early for J/F/M they were full! This park is located near the State park a well renown birding park. "great location" quiet and away from traffic noise and neighbourhoods. Golf course is OK due to drought conditions it is hard and dry but challenging.... We camped at Llano Grande Resort and Country Club in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

About 20 minutes to Progreso Mexico, shopping, bars'n'restaurants, and great dentists...always a fun day trip. Nana's Taqueria is a great little Mexican restaurant in Mercedes Tx. on International Blvd 1015.. Harlingen is about 20 minutes for great shopping. McAllen and Pharr will find even more shopping and a Costco....South Padre about 1-1/2 hours to beach.
